Jane Ellison is an incredibly professional designer with an excellent sense of space planning and design sense. Her approach with each client is inclusive, collaborative and individual. Key to working with Jane, is knowing how important the clients thoughts are in making any design decision. Each element of a project is given great attention and she is always looking at the bigger picture as well, in order to be certain each piece becomes a well thought out whole picture. I have worked with her on both large and small projects. She is calm, resourceful, and an essential asset to any project. Most recently we worked together for almost 3 years in the rebuilding of our home, which was totally destroyed in the fires of 2017, Jane Ellison has my highest recommendation!

I have worked on several projects with Jane over the years from new construction, remodeling, lighting design, and even my commercial studio. As the general contractor on the recent Ranch Road Project in Petaluma, I really enjoyed working with Jane. Her rich design experience and ability to create value within budgetary constraints were essential to the success of the major remodel, which required working with multiple stakeholders to clarify design decisions on a tight project schedule. I was extremely impressed with Jane’s professionalism, humility, patience, open-mindedness, and flexibility. While Jane brought a highly-organized, well-considered, creative focus to each of her detailed design decisions, I especially appreciated how much effort she put into working with the clients to understand how the various areas of the Ranch Road house would actually be used. This meant her clean, warm design aesthetic was always rooted in a pragmatic understanding of the flow and function for various spaces throughout the house. As a testament to Jane’s attention to detail, the project architect included her detailed interior design drawings in his county building department submittals. Jane is relaxed, enthusiastic, and easy to work with – a great communicator. I was impressed by her ability to thoughtfully and patiently explain to project stakeholders the various factors to consider when making individual design decisions, then what the strategy and reasoning informing her recommendations were. Jane is truly a team player. She not only really listened to her clients’ ideas, she also seemed to enjoy collaborating with the project building team by encouraging and eliciting input, ideas, and feedback from subcontractors, vendors, and tradespeople working on site. Jane has all the best qualities of a talented designer, including creative inspiration, a thorough understanding of the various elements of good design, and excellent communication skills. I highly recommend her.

We hired Jane as we have an octagonal living room and had had cabinets built in with window seats to make the area more usable. Even after we added more windows and French doors the room is still on the dark side and after many, many paint colors on the wall we decided we needed a professional to make the room shine like we knew it could. We hired Jane Ellison and not only did she confirm that one wall color we had would work well, but then came up with an amazing color for the cabinets that worked not only with the wall color but also made the stone fireplace more of a statement. She provided guidance on how to furnish the space and found fabrics that I would never have picked together for the window seats & pillows. It all came together beautifully and even 10 years later the parts of the room she did are still my favorites. She has a wonderful way of putting things together and her designs are beautiful, serene and timeless. She also is a pleasure to work with and knows how to work with two people with different visions and managed to make us both happy. I couldn't recommend her more.

Jane has helped me with interior design related to a kitchen remodel and also general redesign of my home. She has very good insight into what design schemes are current and trendy, but also has a very good sense for balancing what's popular with the needs of her clients, always presenting relevant ideas, but tying them back to the customers needs and budget. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jane over the past 3 years.

Jane helped me redecorate my office/guest bedroom. I have done real estate staging in the past however this room was giving me problems. When the room was done it was functional, spacious and artful. Just what i was looking for. Jane is a great listener and a gem to work with.

It's overwhelming, at the beginning phase of owning your first new home, to sort through all the options of a very different configuration. A whole house that you're now entirely responsible for! Jane helped us think about design choices and the ways each room might be used. She's patient, clever, enthusiastic, and thoughtful. We started to think of the house as a creative start on a blank canvas instead of a Herculean task. Her Feng Shui review helped us consider the symbolism of the space and her common sense helped us approach the practical decisions that we would need to make. And her recommendations via Pinterest made it that much easier to discuss options, compare ideas, and make selections that we're now thrilled with. Despite years of working for a design company, I can't imagine better advice than Jane's.

We hired Jane to design our new main office in Corte Madera (and hired her again a few years later when we expanded). Construction started with one large space which was separated into three offices, a conference room, and a kitchen/computer room. Jane created drawings to scale, and worked with us and the contractor to ensure the job was carried out on time, as specified and that quality work was done. We constantly receive compliments on the colors chosen for our office. Besides the paint, Jane helped us choose the carpet, office furniture, window coverings, kitchen counter, cabinets, artwork, etc. Jane is a very talented professional and we highly recommend her.

Jane was an organized, creative and helpful designer on our home building project. She was readily available to meet with us on the job site and to shop with me for materials. She was understanding of our need to work within a tight budget and we are very pleased with our choices, especially the design and materials of our kitchen. It is beautiful! She was especially helpful in advising us of the sequencing of tasks on the job. Jane has a good attitude and was always courteous and kind to all on the job.
