Alex was recommended to us by our builder. He was involved in our lane house project from concept to design to coordination of permitting and then he saw the construction through to completion. We were very pleased with every aspect of the result and attribute much of that to the top notch design. He had a wealth of experience, was willing to work from our desired design ideas, had tremendous attention to detal in every aspect of the process, had a great sense of ownership over the project, was punctual and accessible and was a pleasure to deal with. We had Alex design our new home. We are extremely pleased with his talent in home design. Not only did Alex design an absolutely beautiful home it functions perfectly. In addition we required our home design to be wheelchair accessible. Alex designed fully accessible bathrooms, level access, ramping, proper turning radius in all rooms and an elevator. All of these requirements were discreetly integrated into the design adding to its aesthetic value Thanks Alex. .

We engaged Alex in 2011 to assist in the identification of an appropriate site to build a home in Vancouver. He provided insight into the pros and cons of each property that we were interested in, objectively and expediently. Once the property was purchased, Alex and his design team developed and presented creative, thoughtful and well laid out design ideas while listening intently to how we envisioned living in this new home and our expectations. We worked with Alex remotely via Skype, email and telephone while living abroad. Once we hired our builder we asked Alex to represent us on the ground during construction. Alex worked really well with the entire project team and communicated effectively between all the parties. Alex is a professional. We were recently chosen by Alex Glegg Design to manufacture product for their Dundarave 1 residential project, and we are extremely thrilled to see the finished results here on their Houzz page! We hired Alex Glegg Design to do the architectural drawings for the renovation to our duplex. The reno included complete gutting of the unit, new wiring, plumbing, kitchen bathrooms, roof, and windows. Also included an addition to the exterior of the second floor. Alex Glegg worked closely with us and was prompt in all his work and responses. His plans and ideas were beyond what we hoped or expected. We had a major challenge because work done by previous owners without permits had resulted in square footage that exceeded CoV allowance. Alex worked very hard with us to prepare documents and a presentation to the City of Vancouver Board of Variance to request that we be allowed to not only maintain the increased square footage from previous work but also to allow a further increase in square footage. Alex attended the Board of Variance meeting with us and his presentation was highly professional and effective. The Board granted our request over the protests of the city officials. I am sure that Alex's confident, respectful and accurate presentation was the reason we won our appeal. From the beginning of the architectural drawings process, we were very comfortable with Alex's professional and easy style. Nothing deterred his positive outlook and energy. He also talked himself out of some work, recommending that we spend our resources on a designer we had hoped to work with. Part way through our reno process (when Alex's work was completed) we faced a challenge and went to him for advice. Once again he was calm and extremely helpful. His recommendation resulted in the best possible outcome for our project. The entire experience with Alex Glegg Design was positive and we would not only engage them for future work but are pleased to recommend them to friends or other parties.

The design team at Alex Glegg Design was very intuitive. We found that Alex was able to easily interpret our ideas and dreams for our new home, through discussion and photos and put them on paper for us to explore further.
