AVOID Anthony & Sylvan Pools- Poor Quality and No Accountability Our pool looked great at first, but within four years, the tile walls were falling apart by the hundreds, the structure behind them crumbled, and leaks damaged the deck. Anthony & Sylvan denied our warranty claim immediately, without proper inspection. We brought in independent engineers who confirmed it was due to poor materials and delamination — not anything we did. Even after that, they refused to take responsibility. They weren’t focused on fixing the problem — just on protecting their image. The only offer we got was a partial repair tied to signing an NDA and removing our reviews. We chose them for their name, but a smaller local builder would’ve done a better job and stood behind the work. I’d think twice before hiring them.

Geoff Vanleer and his team of technicians at Anthony Sylvan Pools provide fast and excellent service. Geoff has helped us personally with a few issues, such as last year when he accurately diagnosed and quickly repaired a failed igniter in our Jandy JXI-400N pool heater that was showing error code "Fault Check IGN Steps", which can have many possible causes. Geoff said it's often the igniter in these units. He was right! More recently we had warranty service on a Jandy multi-speed filter pump that had bearing issues. The weather is getting colder and we wanted to make sure the pump was repaired or replaced quickly. We called it into Sylvan service desk and notified Geoff too. A tech replaced the pump the very next day! Thanks much Geoff and Sylvan service team.

We’ve had our pool for over 5 years that was installed by Anthony Sylvan. Salt generator went bad last year and it was quickly replaced. We would definitely recommend this company.

Worked with Geoffrey V. in the Charlotte metro area for a gas heater installation. He knows his stuff, did a super clean installation, and was in/out in one day. Storm knocked down a tree and crushed the old heater... pipes/valves were cracked and old heater was toast. Geoffrey (and his crew) got the old one out and replaced all the components so it looked like it used to. No messy glueups, no odd routing, clean job site afterwards... all up and running again!

Due to previous rain storms, he was very polite and cordially protected my property by wearing his boots and even changing them to avoid tracking any debrie in his tracks. I can also recognize an employees just doing time and one who takes pride in what they do and who they represent. When Geoff Van Leer shows up at your door you realize why Anthony & Sylvan has such a great reputation. Extremely knowledgable and professional, Geoff knows how to talk to people so they feel confident that they can apply what he has taught them. He also does not limit the conversation to only his expertise. What a great experience I have had with my new pool build in all phases. While many of the great folks that worked on my pool I didn’t get To know by name, I was able to really get to know Geoff Van Leer when he came to run me through pool in October and then 30 days later he came back to add salt and follow up overall. It’s a bit colder so we could have waited until springtime to add salt, but he went above and beyond to add a few bags and explain the process and check in everything to make sure we are in good shape. This allowed me to ask some questions and refresh the original pool school. Geoff gave me his personal number from his first visit which has come in handy when I have had questions. He treated us like family and I think of him the same. What a shining example of great service and commitment to quality work!

The folks that scheduled the trades were responsive...they kept up with the inspections and got inspectors to our house when needed. They dealt with some weather delays, a change or two, and some challenges from our other contractors who just couldn't keep up with their pace. We ended up on schedule, on budget, and with a beautiful project! What else could you ask for when doing a home renovation as big as an in-ground pool?

My pool pump was acting up and not running as well as it has been. I contacted A&S and they sent a technician next day. Geoff V came out (same person that did my pool school) and he was excellent again. Fixed the issue and made sure he educated me on why he though the pump wasn’t performing well.

Anthony and Sylvan pools can cause serious damage to your feet and hands! We had Anthony Sylvan out of Doylestown Pennsylvania renovate our Anthony Sylvan pool and they ruined it. We never had any problems for 20 years until we had the Anthony and Sylvan Renovation team come and renovate our A&S pool. Anyway, now we can only swim in the pool, we can't stand, play volleyball or basketball otherwise our feet get seriously cut up and bleed profusely! My grandson had to seek medical care because his feet were so cut from the bottom of the pool and he cried for days from the pain. We sent pictures to Anthony and Sylvan and they did nothing to rectify it. The tile guys chipped our waterfall and never fixed it. They told us the waterfall was installed incorrectly in the first place even though it was Anthony and Sylvan who built our pool and waterfall. Then they said it couldn't have been them who installed it. ( they did the initial installation of our pool and waterfall 20 years before..) Anthony and Sylvan has the worst customer service. I spent so much time trying to get them to rectify the problem that I finally gave up. They just give excuses. People ask us all the time for recommendations for who to go to for their new pool or renovations and we emphatically tell them to avoid Anthony and Sylvan . Horrible and most costly experience that we have ever had to endure. If you love your family and friends and don't want them to get seriously injured ,avoid doing business with Anthony and Sylvan pools!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. ZERO STARS. Signed contract August '21. Excavation began November '21. Everything started off ok until the last payment was submitted January '22, which is the only way pool can be completed with this company. My design consultant had me down for tile around my raised bond beam however the company did not place tile all around & stated I never paid for it or ordered it. My design consultant was fired & could not verify so they wanted me to pay an extra $225 & would not go forth with my pool construction until it was paid. I paid remaining balance but was informed by my project manager (PM) that per his manager he would reimburse me if I gave them a good review. Come February '22 my plaster was done & pool was filled & began to notice white discolorations throughout my plaster days after, which is suppose to be blue, even after adding necessary chemicals & constantly brushing. I tried for weeks to get ahold of my PM with no response to my messages or calls. Tried contacting main construction manager as well but no answer. Found out my PM was also fired from another contractor of the company's, which gave me the excuse that he was sick when confronted about the situation. It was not until almost a month later a scheduler informed me he was no longer with the company. I also had a pump issue March '22 which forced the water in my pool to sit for 3 weeks further messing up plaster. Took weeks for a electrician to fix the problem after getting a call back from 1 scheduler after weeks of trying. Till today I still have not received any calls, messages, or voicemails back trying to address the plaster issue since the beginning of February '22. There has been a complete lack of communication from the company with no decency for their customer’s investments, & would not recommend them to anybody trying to build a pool. My pool is still not complete & I am not at all satisfied with my experience with this company. It has been an absolute disgrace!

I am very happy with the installation, and service provided by A&S for my pool. One of key factors in choosing A&S was their reputation for pool service. Again, A&S (specifically Geoff Vanleer) surpassed my expectations on the quick turn around for resolving a pool issue.

Geoff from Anthony & Sylvan Pools recently helped diagnose and quickly resolve a manufacturer issue with our pool heater. Geoff’s extensive knowledge of our pool/spa/equipment and his willingness and ability to service our heater right before a holiday break exceeded expectations. Geoff helped ensure everything was resolved/working well and followed up a couple days after his service visit to make sure all was still working well and to make sure that we (and our holiday guests) were enjoying our ‘heated’ winter-time spa! Great service!

I just had a consultation with Fuller for a Fiberglass Pool. I was not aware that Anthony and Syvan Pools only provided Concrete Pools. Fuller was very pleasant and knowledgable and steered me in the right direction. There not many companies that will recommend another company when you are not using their business. You will not be disappointed working with Fuller and Anthony & Sylvan Pools.

Anthony & Sylvan built and installed my pool in 2018 and did a remarkable job. Most recently, I had a service call to them after I mistakenly broke my intake check valve. Geoff showed up on time and completed the repair, but gave my entire pump and filter system a complete inspection and made numerous other repairs, all under warranty. This was above and beyond. I highly recommend A&S as a builder and a service company.

We were pleased with the process from start to finish for our pool construction which included the pool deck and the fire pit area. The workers kept the site clean and were diligent in their jobs. Everyone we worked with were professional, including Michael McCormick, our sales rep; Ray Kennedy, our project manager, as well as Geoff, who patiently discussed and demonstrated how to operate the pool equipment. We also can not say enough about the clear and timely communication we had with the office staff who kept us informed throughout the process. Billy Scott and his team from Lake Norman Turf did an exceptional job on the pool deck, retaining walls, accent lighting and the fire pit. We are also pleased with the job that Mike McDonald and CCR Fence Company did installing our fence. We highly recommend Anthony Sylvan Pools.

Avoid at all cost, we had numerous issues. I can deal with delays as they are expected with any construction project. My issue is with the build quality, we have numerous surface cracks on the deck and a significant crack in the bonding joint with the pool and deck, there is excess grout on the tile, my bottom step is not uniform, and the final build deck height differs from the design plan. To make matters worse they installed the wrong color finish, admitted the mistake and agreed to a remedy that has not happened. I did not seek to have them replaster the pool with the correct color because I was concerned that would not be done correctly. I understand some mistakes happen, but their response has been lack luster and at this point I don’t know if they will honor their word or if I have to seek arbitration because of their lack of communication. Do not entrust you money and dream pool build with them.

If I could rate this company no stars, I would. It’s been over 2 months since they’ve came to finish our pool. They constantly have “weather” excuses and yet it’s sunny out. Extremely unprofessional. They got paid in full, upfront and still haven’t finished or send follow up’s. It feels like a scam of a company. They promise to come finish and ask to get paid, makes no sense. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Their field staff and office staff are terrible at coordination. We had several times where they told us a goal would be met or set a meeting and everyone in the meeting was given different time or even different dates. Mollie Matthews made several mistakes throughout our build process with scheduling and communication. The pool looked great for awhile, but quickly began to have concrete problems as they poured it during the winter. The stone they installed should have come with manufactures warranty however, they did not schedule the stone production inspector properly so manufacturing warranty is void.

Overall we had a good experience with Anthony & Sylvan. Tim Clark was great upfront and helped us with issues during the building process. We did have several issues during the construction phase but they were resolved with the help of Tim once we pointed them out. Anthony & Sylvan Pools over-promises and under-delivers. Their project managers only return phone calls or emails when it suits them. If you have a problem with your pool, you can forget about A&S helping you out. They ignore you until the warranty is over and then you're on your own. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use Anthony & Sylvan Pools for your project.

Geoff is a great asset to the team! He owns what the company says and does. He really wants people to be happy with their product and makes sure we all understand how to use the equipment. My issue with Anthony & Sylvan is their communication as a company. There was too much time spent in the dark with no information flowing. When asking questions, it would take me calling up the chain to get an answer. Towards the end of the build, communication did greatly increase, unfortunately this was after already being upset. This is such a fun time in our lives and I just encourage Anthony & Sylvan to keep their communication flowing to avoid any further issues. Also, their timelines are way off, they told us 12 to 14 weeks from excavation to finish. It was actually 18 weeks and we are still not totally complete. The pool is awesome, just be prepared for it to take way longer than they say.

Exceptionally professional and a real delight to work with. Geoff Van Leer set up our system without any trouble and took his time explaining everything. Geoff has a great sense of humor and makes learning the system easy and fun! He's the best of the best!

William was very responsive to every question or concern. He would respond to every call and would visit the site if necessary to resolve additional questions. He made sure the questions were all answered and did it always with excellent attitude and dispositions. I do understand that coordinating a project with different companies/people and dealing with clients can be very stressful, however he always kept a calm attitude and was able to resolve the matter. He also proposed ideas for the yard and helped in repairing the damage that was done when excavating. Finally, I was one with a lot of questions!...so I appreciated his infinite patience. Since the pool was build Brian Reaves has been our primary service specialist. He has done an outstanding job keeping the pool in the best possible condition as well as provided advice on problem areas that got quickly resolved.

Geoff has been phenomenal. He addressed all items pool related and made it easy to make sure have you have a great pool owner experience from cleaning, to chemicals, to of course enjoying the pool!

Excellent customer service and insane craftsmanship! We recommend Anthony & Sylvan to everyone we have a conversation with about getting a pool. When we were shopping for a pool company- Anthony & Sylvan we’re the only company that responded (and this was pre-covid times). Geoff was our recent tech that came out to assist with an issue. He came out promptly and fixed the problem and followed up after as well.

The construction by Anthony and Sylvan was great, had a few minor issues but it’s to be expected with this or any type of constructions. So my issue is this, I had my pool financed and they got paid as soon as they requested to get paid however, I got my own deck contractor as they were charging WAY too much for just a brush finish and I know a lot of concrete contractors so I saved me some money there. Well when it came to getting my money back from Anthony and Sylvan for the deck, they acted as if they needed and act from God. Another thing is that aside from Connie (my designer’s assistant) and Joey (construction/project manager), no one at Anthony and Sylvan has customer service experience or practice. No one there EVER communicated or replied to any emails. It was almost as if they did not know how to send or reply to an email. I am at the point now where I feel that they are trying to steal the money they owe me. Sorry to say but I will never do business with Anthony and Sylvan again due to your logistics and financial department’s irresponsibility to customer service and recommend you do not either.

Warda has been great for us during our construction. She has been readily available to help us with all of our scheduling , and has been amazing with her response time to answer any questions we have had. All in all she has been great. Matt has done an amazing job. He has walked us through the construction process. He has always been available to answer questions, and even gone above and beyond with site visits to explain next steps and processes etc. All in all our we are really happy until this point. Our project manager for our new pool build was Tim Fournier. He was very good at explaining each step of the build and making sure we understood the process. We couldn’t be happier with working with Tim on the build during the process.

I do NOT recommend Anthony & Sylvan pools. We hired them to construct our pool in 2020. The work was a mess, the schedule was sporadic and the quality was low. They used a tile contractor that had poor workmanship. The tile was not centered along the wall and is uneven at each end. In addition, they did not properly prepare the grout and we started to get precipitates showing up along our tile wall. To resolve it, A&S sent another contractor who literally ground out the grout with a Dremel tool (chipping tiles along the way) and they re-applied a properly mixed grout. Solved most of the problem but the tile is a mess. It has been a year since the construction and we have already had to submit warranty claims for a gas leak, broken expansion joints, and a broken water feature. After 8 weeks, we have only gotten the gas leak repaired .... we keep getting excuses on the other claims. A&S constructs low quality pools, they use low quality sub-contractors and they don't honor their warranty system. If you are thinking of building a pool with A&S, find someone else!!!

AS completed our pool earlier this year. William, Sebastian, and Patrick were all amazing to work with! They are all Super communicative, knowledgeable, and have the kindest demeanor. It is clear that they do a good job and want you to be happy with the work performed. Our only regret is waiting to long to get a pool!

Geoff Vanleer continues to go above and beyond the customer experience. He came over to fix our pool filter the same day the issue was reported. In addition He provides continuous knowledge about the maintenance of our pool.. He is an invaluable asset to the Anthony and Sylvan Team! Thank you for all of your help Jeff!

ONGOING NIGHTMARE—Still Not Finished! It has been 13 months and A&S still hasn’t finished a typically 3-4 month job, but course they’ve collected all monies up front because unless you pay, they won’t schedule you. Our experience has been that they tell us we’re scheduled for a Wednesday or Thursday, then when they are supposed to show up, they cancel and reset for the following week or for 2 weeks out, then of course something happens and they have to reschedule and the entire no show and reschedule circus happens again. They shorted us on our concrete deck and when we caught this, it was an act of Congress to get this rectified. Numerous emails, calls, texts and follow through on our part. They built our spa 49 inches deep when the standard size for spas is 36 inches deep. Sitting in it is like sitting in a deep hole. We can barely get out and the spa wall is so high we can’t rest our arms on it. Forget safety. The spa step is so high we need help getting pulled up and out of the spa! It took months to get management out to “authorize” a fix and then of course the project manager (CJ) that should have caught this mistake, mysteriously disappeared. We have been trying for almost 6 months to get them out to fix THEIR SPA CONSTRUCTION MISTAKE! No luck so far. Just promises. “Fixing” the spa actually entails a REBUILD which will entail cutting 6 inches from the top of the spa surround, filling in 6 inches to the bottom of the spa floor (which will offset the jets), filling in 2 inches to the spa seats (which will offset the jets) and then cutting away one of the steps to the spa overflow (which will eliminate much of the waterfall sound). Management, (DB and GB) just keep promising that they are getting their “best” crew out and that they are “working” on it, they are trying to schedule the repairs—it’s been almost 6 months of this. We’re typically not complainers. This isn’t our first pool with them. We’ve even recommended them to friends in the past. Something is not working here and we’ve been met with extreme unprofessionalism and lack of oversight and follow through. Anthony & Sylvan have made serious mistakes with our build, been slow to fix them (only after numerous calls and emails and complaints) and have completely botched our spa. Why don’t they fix it!?!? Good question. Our yard was a complete disaster until recently. The entire area was inaccessible, with nails, debris, workers trash etc strewn all over our yard for almost ONE YEAR and we had to beg them to clean it up. I mean B-E-G them to clean up a danger zone. They botched our stairs and placed them too close to the edge of the spa leaving a 1-1/2 foot pathway. They had to redo them by tearing into a side retaining wall and eliminating a stair. this should have been caught by them, not us. It’s been ONE YEAR and our pool is STILL NOT FINISHED. WE WILL NEVER AGAIN RECOMMEND NOR USE ANTHONY & SYLVAN POOLS. Our project is a nightmare.

In late 2020, faced with the decision to turn our backyard into an oasis we began asking neighbors who they used to build their pools. Our HOA had past problems with some builders who went bankrupt leaving their customers hanging. We quickly settled on Anthony and Sylvan after getting a glowing recommendation from a neighbor and we have no regrets. One of the key areas Anthony and Sylvan's differentiation is their use of site project managers and construction schedulers back in the office. We had Warda Shaikh as our scheduler. She kept on top of the process and communicated with us at every step. Throughout the process, we received a quality product, excellent communications, and a builder that stands behind what they delivered. Isn't that what every customer wants in the end? We are now enjoying our beautiful pool every day.

If you're in CT, do NOT use this company to build your pool! We signed the contract in September after we were told the pool would be done by Memorial Day. Permits were issued while there was still snow on the ground, and promised we were the first on the list to dig as soon as the snow cleared. After months of misinformation, horrible communication, and flat out lies, it is still not done. Up until this point, I have been nothing but professional and courteous and given them the benefit of the doubt every step of the way. I have paid close to the entire cost of the project and it has completely stalled again. "No available workers or crews" "Shortage of materials" "We'll have someone get back to you immediately"... same story, different week. We know of other families in the area that chose different builders, started months after us, and are swimming already. I guess you get what you pay for. Save yourself the aggravation, pay a few extra dollars and find someone else to build your pool.

Terrible to deal with - they don't even answer your phone calls. I have had a pool installed which was paid for in full, less the work I did for them along the way and they still haven't installed my sanitation system. I have no salt water monitor in place to balance the amount of salt to add when needed, this is an expensive part and I just want my pool to be complete and I want what I paid for. They are unresponsive to my requests and just ignore the fact that my job isn't complete. I also had to beg them to install my blower, PDA and I-Aqua Link which took months. Just a terrible job and I wish someone would explain why they ignore you after being paid in full - over $80,000!

I started the process of building a pool back in April/May with A&S and they are about to start my dig. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Sherry/Cherokee Mounce as my salesperson and her service alone allows me to give these guys a 5 star rating. Cherokee went above and beyond helping us design our pool. She truly listened to everything we wanted, was mindful of our budget, and designed the pool of our dreams, RIGHT at the price point we were looking for! She is responsive, keeps her word, and really puts 110% into her work. She has kept all promises that she’s made regarding pricing, timeline, etc and has become a champion of getting our pool across the finish line. You can tell she takes her job very seriously and puts her heart and soul into helping people turn their backyards into a full on oasis. So creative and energetic, I can’t say enough good things about her. I can’t wait to add pictures once everything is completed!!

They schedule “pool school” to teach you how to care for your pool. We had Geoff Van Leer as our pool school technician. Geoff spent time with us for training and he made several recommendations on water testing and the necessary chemicals. Overall this was an excellent experience with Anthony and Sylvan supporting their product.

Geoff was amazing in resolving an issue I was having with my spa spill. He is went over and beyond to help me clean my dirty filters very nicely (which is not his job btw) and reinstalled everything back together. I am extremely satisfied with Geoff’s workmanship and the fact that he went above and beyond to help me. Geoff is extremely knowledgeable about pool equipment and any related issues. My spa works great now. I would prefer having him back for any issue in the future.

Anthony and Sylvan was the best choice to build our pool. Geoff had been an awesome tech to work with. We met him when we converted us to salt this spring. He was very helpful and responsive when we had a warranty question early this summer (which turned out to be nothing abnormal). He is a great person to work with - for us “first time pool owners”.

Geoff Van Leer came out for a warranty claim and diagnosed the issue promptly and found that are flow sensor needed to be replaced as it wasn’t producing chlorine. Great job as always thank you Geoff.

I had contacted Geffery regarding our pool pump was not working. Geffery FaceTime and we troubleshoot the problem. Although we could not fix over the phone, Geffery was instrumental in getting the service manager to send over a technician to fix pump witching 2 days. This pool service is the worst business company i have ever worked with. Its been 4+ months and my pool still isn't finished. All we get is the run around about the next part to start. If had listened to my instincts instead of my husband's from day 2, I was ready to use another company and I should've. Dont even think about using ANTHONY AND SYLVAN for your pool needs. Customer service sucks,installation sucks. Communication with customers sucks.

Today Joe returned to see if Plan A would work for our light. Again, he was polite, kind, and VERY knowledgeable. I'm sad that Plan A didn't work, but we'll get right on the digging for Plan B. Anthony & Sylvan Pools did a fantastic job at every step of the project. Their knowledge of permitting requirements and HOAs ensures that your project can sail through the approval processes. Their design and 3D visualization tools help you to know what the finished project will look like. Then once construction begins they really do a great job of managing each facet of the construction and providing communication so that you always know where you are in the project and what step is next. Some of our neighbors who already had pools were very impressed with how quickly and smoothly the project got completed. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

We love our new pool! We came to Anthony & Sylvan in early 2021 because we wanted to build a new pool in our backyard. We don't have a huge yard, so we wanted to see what was possible. Our home is very modern, and we wanted the pool to match that aesthetic. We were so pleased with the entire process and with the great customer service we received from the Anthony & Sylvan team. They walked us through every step, answered all our questions, and delivered our new pool on time. We had our new pool ready to go by the time the warm weather hit Atlanta. It was a great experience and our home now feels complete with a pool in the backyard. Thank you, Anthony & Sylvan!

The salesperson was great! The execution was horrible! I worked with the team from Doylestown, PA who service the northeast. Provided an incorrect final coping height causing the entire rest of the site (pool house and walls) to be too low. Incorrectly set skimmers and pool cover height resulting in endless refilling of my pool. They did not respect the other workers on the site, left a mess for me to clean up, spec'd out a diving board that violated all the safety rules, then when I pointed it out they fought me endlessly, ultimately I had to bring in a 3rd party, quality of the workmanship was below average, installed baseline equipment for a high-end renovation, great communication when it came time to collect a payment, yet horrible communication through the project, everything was last min and I mean last min! 8 pm calls the night before showing up "We will be coming tomorrow and we need a check before work will begin", refused to work with my GC who only does high-end work. They expected me, the homeowner, to start the pool and troubleshoot and correct their mistakes. I can go on for eternity. Baseline work with a local guy who cares about a long-term relationship. Bottom line, if you go with them remember: •Expect no project management. •Pay in advance payment terms enabling their underperformance. •Expect poor workmanship. •Expect no cooperation with other contractors. •Expect an adversarial relationship

Based on service this season would give them a Zero star rating - have used them for twenty years and the service has become so bad that we are going elsewhere next season. Such a shame

Our Anthony Sylvan pool has a crack in it and is losing water. We have been calling for over 7 weeks now without the courtesy of a response. The customer service is really poor and discourteous.

I'm a few months into a new pool build and I would not recommend this company to anyone. Once you sign that dotted line and they have your money, they become uncooperative and unresponsive. Every email takes multiple follow up emails to get a response, and in the rare event you do get a response, it's typically just lip service to make you go away. Most of them do not answer their phones or return phone calls. I can deal with project delays and material shortages during COVID, but apparently the basics of returning emails and phone calls is also in very short supply over there. I wish I used a different company.

I understand that 2020/2021 has been an incredibly challenging year for the pool industry. However, if Anthony & Sylvan would have been honest regarding their timelines upfront, we never would have moved forward with our pool. Back in April we were told by the General Manager - NY Metro Division; that our pool installation would take approximately 10-12 weeks. Our pool was excavated on April 19th and 12 weeks later on July 12th our gunite was shot. Now, I am informed that it may take another 8 weeks for our pool to be completed due to shortage of materials/labor - and that the overall project will now take 20 weeks minimum. Honesty would have been appreciated upfront. When it comes to communication skills, I would rate this company a zero. The office in charge of scheduling is rude and our project manager is unresponsive. Our first project manager quit the company half way through the project - and our current project manager is not familiar with our pool or where we are in the process. Very disappointed in the company, would not recommend.

Really wish I could give these guys 0 stars. We signed the agreement in September 2020. We were told we should be swimming by Memorial Day. Here it is, after July 4th, 2021, and still no water in the pool. We have a shell with no plaster, no storm water management system, no pool deck. Just a huge mess of a mud pit in the backyard every time it rains. Communication has been either totally absent or like pulling out your own wisdom teeth once they got the bulk of their money. Absolutely the worst business experience I have ever had. I like how I have to put a project completion date for the review. I wish I knew one!!!

We spent over 20,000 thousand dollars for a renovation and our pool looks absolutely terrible. Whatever enjoyment we once had relaxing by our pool is filled with disappointment and frustration from the horrific experience we've had with Anthony & Sylvan. It looked better before the renovation and if we could go back in time, we would not have pursued our renovation with Anthony & Sylvan for a number of reasons as follows: 1. Customer service is absolutely terrible. Our renovation was scheduled 6 times and their response was, 'we are short on supplies', 'we didn't know the renovation team didn't show up', 'our oversight', etc... And this was only if you even got a response. During the 6 times our renovation was re-scheduled half of the time we came home to find NOTHING was done. We emailed, called, texted and no response from their scheduler (Monica Francis). 2. The quality is absolutely terrible. After over 20K, you would expect quality work. Nope! There is consistent and visible discoloration. It looks like someone peed in our pool. They were told immediately and we were told, wait 3 weeks. Brush 2x daily. We brused 2x daily and we waited 24 days yet the discoloration persists. We contacted their managers, supervisors, directors, (Ashley Fretz and Corey Corenhhenour) and their response 'So and so is on vacation. This will have to wait until they get back'. Unreal! 3. They don't communicate with you or with each other. They make a mistake but won't own up. They volunteered to schedule water to fill the pool after the 6th time the plastering was re-scheduled. They communicated incorrectly and there was no water to fill our pool until well over 24 hours later and this was because the customer found the water. 4. They only want your money. We paid on time and in full and once we paid up, they forget about you. They were timely with their reminder requests for payment but can't seem to remind themselves of the customer service and contractual obligation they have. Loud volumes of negligence here! 5. They have not fulfilled their end of their contractual agreement. Save your money and your anxiety for a better cause. Do NOT use Sylvan. If you are in Pennsylvania, go elsewhere - Try Blue Haven. I understand they at the very least ensure the customer gets what they paid for.

After meaningful conversations with Anthony and Sylvan, we were able to iron out any misunderstandings.They promptly resolved my issues and for that I am thankful.

Wish I could give them 0 stars. After the consult we decided to make some changes including work that a general contractor could do to save us money. We waited months for the updated quote with 12 emails going unanswered. After calling everyone on the customer service list we finally heard back from J.R. who asked for the chance to update the quote and call us back. When he called us back his team gave him none of the true information of our changes. We asked for our deposit to be returned and he told us it would be. It’s been a month and now J.R. Is also ignoring emails. Terrible customer service starts from the second they get your deposit.

From the beginning this was the absolute worst experience. We encountered problem after problem, from forgetting a gas line, to being shocked due to improper electrical work, and even a drunk plaster crew, I could go on and on. 2 years later the pool is not complete and the problems continue. Customer service is some of the worst I've seen. A&S claims to "strive for 5" and to let them know immediately if you aren't 100% satisfied. That's a joke, I would give no stars if i could.

We have had leaks in our pool for 8 years! Customer service is terrible. Every year we called for warranty work and every year they patched cracks. In March 2021 they finally came out to investigate the issue. After drilling 26 holes in the bottom of our pool they concluded that mud jacking would not work to lift our sinking pool. They agreed to open the pool, fill the holes and fix a light until fall. You would think this was their first pool opening (leaving equipment behind, forgetting to complete jobs, not checking heater) and our light is still not fixed in June. Terrible

Poor customer service and they did not even finish the job. I spent over 80k on a pool with auto cover with them in New Jersey. I noticed cracking in the plaster within a day of the plaster job in March 2020 and they kept saying they would come and fix it. I think the project manager may have tried to cover it up. After punting it to the spring at the end of last summer, they have not even responded to my calls since February.

Hello, We have been dealing with Owen Sakovics at Anthony Sylvan pools on an issue. Anthony Sylvan was amazing on finding a solution and helped us get our heater up and running quickly. The issue was solved quickly..

Terrible customer service after "signing on the dotted line"--don't return calls; program manager MIA; and follow-up indoctrination/service POCs are ready to drop and go after 5 minutes (complaining about so many "other jobs"). We're not difficult/hard-to-satisfy customers, but do expect some customer care and communication given significant investment.

The customer service couldn’t be worse if they tried. Our new pool began late February and wasn’t completed until September. Zero responsiveness, false promises on scheduling, failed every single inspection the first time around, and now 7 months after my new pool was completed, we have a leak and the warranty department won’t respond. I really regret using Anthony & Sylvan.

I do not recommend using Anthony & Sylvan Pools. We are 17 weeks into what was supposed to be an 8-10 week build and there is no end in sight. They make promises about work being done, then never show up. When they do show up, the quality of their work is terrible and has to be re-done multiple times. Their crew is reckless and has caused damage to our A/C units as well as their own equipment they installed. The structure of our pool doesn't match the plans. The equipment they installed has been leaking for over a month and they refuse to fix it. Our "pool" sits for weeks without any work being done. I tried reaching out to their corporate office and nobody returns my calls/messages. It was a huge mistake going with Anthony & Sylvan Pools and I would recommend you go with another builder.

Complete and utter disappointment in our > $36,000 reno They are all over you to pay up front, but quickly disappear if there is a problem. No responsibilty from local reps to corporate. Hiding, avoiding, and ghosting you're customers won't keep you in business for long.

A lot of promises before deposit. Then, was given a scheduler with his name and email. Called and emailed. No response. No professionalism. With a name of a company like A&S, you would think there is some sort of customer service. Nope. Don't waste your money. I am thinking of eating my deposit and never use them again. Simply because they don't appreciate their customers.

We started working with the sales person on our new pool in November 2020, gave deposit for the pool in December 2020. We have been told that we will have a pool done 100% by beginning of June. But we didn't know at that time that a sales person never designed a pool in her life and she was learning how to do it on our pool. She didn't send information to the survey company until the end of February, didn't verify with the township what setbacks we have. We had to revise the survey 5 times we have an open bill with the survey company for more than $10,000. This is the price we pay for her to learn how to do her job. Finlay 2 weeks ago Sara our sales person notified us that she dost work with this company anymore and please not to call her. It has taken us an afford to find who to email and on April 23 we emailed following people : Tony Cavallo, Eddie Hernandez and Robert Caruso. On April 26 I emailed the same individuals again and i revised response from Tony Cavallo that Eddie Hernandez will be in touch with us early last week. On April 29 I emailed the same individuals again. Our permits have been approved and in place for the past two weeks. Today is May 17 Eddie Hernandez was in touch with us but still no help, no answers i was told basically when we ready we will call you do not bother us. We really would like to talk to someone in the company who works at the company at list 1 year. It looks like people are coming and going.

Seems like I come back again every few months. For those of you considering using them, please be aware of their warranty. The pool was finished in December 2019, and we opened in it May 2020. We have only used our pool for one season, and the mother board blew on our heater. I hoped it would be covered by the warranty. Not a chance. I have a bill for over $1000.

Extremely frustrated at this point and time. One star so far. Awaiting on their schedule. Signed up early to get a jump on the project. Got permits set up in advance, Sent the money ahead of time. Prepared all details in advance to make it easy for the crews to enter and do their work. Start day comes????????????????????????????. Nothing Happened. Now I have a hole in the ground and landscape is a mess. All the reps from the company are really nice. But Nothing is happening!!! They move in slow motion. I would think being an established business for a long time they would understand the procedure! To maintain a quality and reputable business you need to live up to your words and be responsible. The word value means quality work for a reasonable price. Getting angry and frustrated does not leave a good taste for me. Lack of communication and organization. Lord Help Me!!!!! Update: After a tedious and frustrated relationship found a Rep that was able to get some of the things moving along. The excuse of Covid has been the mainstay but I am upgrading my rating because I think I found somebody who cares. I have done a lot of research and all pool companies seem to have problems because they subcontract most of the work out. I will be posting final reviews once I see the end results hope to improve them even more?

We had an issue with our pump, and Geoff was super responsive and helped us on the same day we called. He was really great at explaining what the issue was...and fixing it quickly. We are so appreciative!

We wanted to be sure to leave a positive review for the due diligence of Jack Niebuhr in assisting us in meeting the unique, structural problems we were faced with from our pool. We realize our needs are above and beyond that of a normal pool. But, Jack went above and beyond and put a great deal of personal thought and effort into solving our issues. We never dealt with Anthony & Sylvan Pools before, but based on the level of professionalism and dedication shown to us by Jack, we would highly recommend Anthony & Sylvan Pools.

It has been quite difficult to reach anyone directly, nor have they been responsive in providing solutions. I've been emailing and calling for a few months now on my pool that still has open issues. In each correspond, the email address customercare@anthonysylvan.com has been included. 
 If you are thinking about going under contract with Anthony & Sylvan, please consider the following timeline! A few key items (but there have been so many others): Zero gas/heat for 2 weeks in winter time (had to boil water to bath my 3 year old and has several electric heaters running) Pool shell poured incorrectly Tile chipped by Anthony & Sylvan during construction (will not fix/no resolution) Water seeping behind tile Rust around pool lights Charged for work that was not done Construction took 7 months (12/2017 - 07/2018) and pool was filled with outstanding issues Pool empty for the last 5 months now (09/2020 - NOW) and ZERO response in the last 2.5 months (01/2021 - NOW) UPDATE: The GM for Las Vegas, Dan, has spoken to us and assured us that since they did not fix any of the items we asked them to fix before the pool was finished within a year, they are no longer obligated to fix it. It was in our contract. I suggest if you, the reader of this review, want a smooth, easy and beautiful pool, do go with another builder. Learn from our mistakes!
