We hired Armin and Sabina to build our first new home together. They have been incredible to work with every step of the way. We did not know much about home construction going into this project and we are not the best at design (though we can be picky!) Armin has such a creative eye for building - he was able to incorporate every element we desired into our home while staying within budget. As we were not experts at this, Armin and Sabina have helped us pick every single finish and explained everything to us. Sabina has picked up on our decorative style and narrowed down choices for us perfectly. Furthermore, they are still completely on target with the finish date, which is typically unheard of in the construction business! We give Armin and Sabina our absolute highest recommendation and have given their information to some of our friends.

We visited many open houses and Home Shows in Des Moines in search of design ideas, quality construction, and value pricing. On an open house visit in the summer of 2012, we toured a home built by Arko’s Custom Homes in Bent Creek Estates. We were impressed with the quality of materials used in construction, the appearance, and possible location for our new home. Unfortunately, this home sold before we were able to make an offer. We met with Armin Avdic, owner of Arko’s Custom Homes, shortly after to discuss the possibility of building a home for us. He was in the process of securing a lot for the 2013 Home Show and offered to build us a home on that lot. After meeting with Armin and Sabiha (his wife), we were certain that they were the perfect builders for us. They showed us a couple of different plans and we landed on the Tuscan Villa, a perfect old world design with a lot of charisma. We took the plans and made them our own with a few tweaks. Armin works with a team of subcontractors that were both professional and enjoyable to work with in the construction of our new home. Armin and Sabiha put in a lot of time and effort listening to what we wanted. They showed us around some of their previous projects, gave us samples of materials or told us where we could go to view materials or designs. The listening and advising did not stop throughout the entire project and it was much appreciated. We were always welcome on site and felt that we could voice any concerns and they would be dealt with promptly and professionally. We were particularly impressed with the attention to details. If Armin didn’t feel something was “perfect” he would redo until it met his high standards. There were many features of the home that he did himself in order to get the results he was looking for and stay within our budget. The valuable service and advice has not stopped since we purchased the home either. He has been responsive on any issues we’ve had and has worked with the subcontractors to ensure our satisfaction. If you are looking for a builder who listens, provides valuable advice, project manages well, keeps you involved and in control and whose team does a professional job to a high standard, then we suggest you contact Armin at Arko’s Custom Homes!
