The book shelves and cabinets they designed and built for the new extension to our house are beautiful and very functional. George’s particular attention to details and construction are evident in the completed project, even more so given the difficult space in which it was installed. Their professionalism and extraordinary care in the delivery and installation phase were greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Art Woodstone Studio.

WOW! That is the main word I have to describe the work that Tea and George did for us. They built a cabinet unit-like a library, with rolling ladder and pull out desk. Results were even better than our original vision!!! Truly a piece of artwork! I honestly have never dealt with any contractor that was so timely, had so much attention to detail, and cared about our input and vision as much as they did. Every idea we had they researched and implemented, even if it was far-fetched :). They delivered the piece we ordered earlier than I expected, and did not leave any details to be completed later. My husband and I are perfectionists, and I was impressed to see that George cared about every detail in the unit he made for us, he looked at it with a detailed eye and did not leave until everything was just right and to our satisfaction. Throughout the process, they were very good with communicating and updates, and asking for our input where it was needed-especially during the design phase-to make sure it was what we envisioned. You can tell they love what they do, and they take 'pride' in their work...truly, the best business/contractor we had dealt with, in their great work, but also their great costumer service!

Over the past ten years we have engaged Art Woodstone on various projects for our Washington DC condo, including bedroom furniture (bed platform, nightside tables, vanity table), built-in bookshelves for our den, a hallway bench, liquor cabinet, and matching dining room table with storage/display hutches (approximate date and cost listed below). Art Woodstone's products had to not only blend in with our eclectic decor (a mix of contemporary and antique with an Asian flavor), but also work within a condo apartment's inherently limited space. In both function and esthetics Art Woodstone more than met the challenge. In all cases design, quality of materials and workmanship have been superb. The dining room table/hutch set (crafted from wood of the same tree) in particular has drawn praise from every visitor to our home. All projects have been delivered within schedule and estimated cost. Given the quality of their work, Art Woodstone prices are well within reason. They would be our first choice for any future projects.

Anyone in search of a furniture/woodworking/design team should seriously consider hiring Tea and George. Aside from being professional, kind and punctual...their craftsmanship is impeccable. We were in search of a carpenter to create a variety of different built in units for our master bedroom suite that fit within our particular motif. Tea, designer half of the team, helped me create furniture that was both unique and my style. She was able to translate my thoughts and ideas into computer generated designs from which the furniture would be built. George is the woodworker and the quality of his workmanship is to be envied. He was even willing to, and succeeded in, repurposing wooden room dividers into shoji screens....something that he had never before done. Measurements were exact and, if there was a question, they would be remeasured. The work was completed within a reasonable timeframe. Though their prices may be on the upper end of the spectrum, I do not regret one penny spent. Every day I walk into the room and smile. Description of work: Tea and George created a wall unit, display case, shoji screen and a vanity for our master bedroom/home office. George also rebuilt a work table and offered his opinion on how to solve other furniture issues I had in my house.

I have used Tea and George on several projects for my interior design business, Arlington Home Interiors, which provides design services for homes in the DC/Metro area. A few examples of projects they've completed for me: some beautiful craftsman style built-ins in a home that needed additional storage and a place to mount their TV; a custom dining room table to fit in a banquette area; and a large formal china cabinet which was similar to something I found, and sized to fit in my clients living room. In each case, they asked questions, discussed options with me, provided detailed drawings to scale, and built me precisely what I was looking for. I truly do not think there is anything that George cannot build in wood. He is a skilled craftsman and artist. Tea is excellent with customer service, design and communications and also very detail-oriented. I trust them to do a good job for a fair price, and that my clients will be thrilled with the results.

Art Woodstone made us a custom pantry slide in with drawers and cabinet doors to match the rest of the kitchen. Tea and George are the best! The attention to detail and responsiveness you get from them is second-to-none. Tea would respond to all of my emails promptly and in great detail, which is unlike any other contractor I've dealt with. George spent hours measuring and getting every detail correct before starting work on our pantry project, and it installed without a hitch! The end result was exactly what we were looking for, and we couldn't be happier! I would recommend Art Woodstone for any of your carpentry needs!

I hired Art Woodstone Studio to build a bookshelf set for my finished basement. They took detailed measurements and fabricated the shelf unit offsite. When they delivered and installed the unit it fit perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for. Finish was beautiful and construction was perfect. They are artists who take great pride in their work.

I used Art Woodstone Studio for a custom floor-to-ceiling bookcase in my home library. It was an absolute pleasure working with George and Tea and the final product was beautiful. The workmanship is outstanding and nothing was overlooked. The walls are quite uneven in my home and it took meticulous attention to detail to ensure a quality result. I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. It is a work of art. The price may be a bit higher than what others may quote, but it is well worth it!!!!!

We met Tea some years ago when she completed a 3D rendering for a couple of pieces of furniture built for our small dining room. The job had been completed by two other people who then moved on to another business. We contacted Tea when we could not find an adequate replacement for a vanity and after learning that she has been working with her husband, we set up a time to meet. This meeting took place at the end of April. Tea and George came to our home and carefully listened to what we wanted, thoroughly reviewed our options and patiently addressed questions and concerns. It was challenging for us to adequately describe the piece we needed and George and Tea did a fabulous job of elucidating what they heard. George even drew a sketch to help us "see" the piece he thought we wanted. They then took careful measurements. We had no idea how expensive this piece of furniture would be and when George gave us an estimate of the "ideal" vanity, we were stunned. It was far more than we expected it to be. We asked for a price for a less intricate vanity and it was graciously provided. George and Tea exerted absolutely no pressure to opt for the higher priced piece. This was greatly appreciated. It was decided that Tea would do renderings of the simpler, less expensive vanity as well as drawings of the more elaborate vanity. We understood that the cost of the renderings would be absorbed by the cost of the vanity we ultimately chose and would not be covered should we decide to do nothing. This was very fair and the renderings proved just how fair this actually was. Tea emailed the renderings soon after our meeting and they were extremely lifelike. It allowed us to fully visualize the two different options. She also generously offered to answer any questions we had about specific details. Emails were always answered quickly and professionally. We ultimately decided to go with the more expensive option. We had been told that the piece would not be started until summer and were surprised when Tea emailed in early July to say it was just about to be completed. I had neglected to ask her to include one small detail, believing that the piece would not be ready until August, and she graciously agreed to add the detail as the piece was not entirely finished. We set up a date for delivery and as usual, Tea and George arrived on time. George kindly helped move the old vanity out of our bedroom before carrying the new piece upstairs. The rendering of this vanity was quite realistic but did not prepare us for the startling beauty of the actual piece of furniture. We were stunned when George removed the plastic! The vanity was a work of art! Not only was the piece a perfect match to our existing furniture, it addressed all that we wanted and reflected a superior degree of craftsmanship. George thought of small details to enhance the efficiency of the piece and to ensure its ease of use. Instead of simply gluing the mirror to the back panel with no concern for future issues, he installed a removable piece above the mirror so that it could be easily replaced should it become necessary to do so. This is just one example of his forethought and skill. After seeing the piece, we clearly understood the cost and believe it was an extremely fair price for what we have. Our experience was completely positive, from exchanges with this engaging, respectful and talented couple, to the finished product. We highly recommend them.
