Backyard Escape Studios

I would not recommend this company. The flat roof leaked in the 5th year resulting in more than $10k damages to the room built in the shed + $5k to have the roof rebuilt. The membrane used to cover the roof broke in multiple spots which lead to water infiltrations. It could be poor installation (the membrane was wavy in many locations), material unsuitable for Canada's winter and urban wildlife, or because the drain was built slightly higher than the roof resulting in continuous rainwater and ice accumulations.

We had our shed designed and installed by Backyard Escapes this past November. Not only is the shed everything we had hoped for the experience we had with the company was amazing. Right from working with them on what we wanted to the day it was installed went entirely trouble free. They kept us updated on progress continually and the crew that came and installed our shed where incredible. We would highly recommend them if you need a shed. Ginny and Gord Hansen

Wow, Sabatian and I discussed our need to produce something unique to us. We discussed colour, size , materials. Showed him our thoughts. He brought some suggestions that greatly improved our rough copy. The design is amazing. Sabatian is a true professional. From our original tour of his build shop to to finished product. We chose "Backyard Escape Studios" for the beautiful contemporary design style that they produce. When we called we spoke with the owner who helped us thru the different choices. a few weeks later the shed was delivered and assembled in half a day ! The shed is stunning looking and actually has more storage space than our previous shed did even with the same footprint. I have to add that these were the nicest and easiest people to work with ever. Now I'm trying to find space for them to build me another one ..

Worked with Sebastian to design a custom shed for our backyard. Sebastian was very responsive and easy to work with. He committed to a date in December even though the weather and time of year were a challenge and delivered as promised. I’m an independent music producer and recording studio owner. My entire studio (analog hardware, tape machines, speakers, amplifiers and instruments) were squeezed in a small room in the attic of my home. My wife and I planned on building an addition to our house, but it didn’t work out financially. We had no feasible solution in mind until we search the internet and we ended up stumbling upon Backyard Escapes Studios web site. Suddenly, “the world was a good place to live”, and after we saw the shed models posted on the website we started to imagine how my studio might look. I called Sebastian Kellner, the owner of Backyard Escapes Studios, and I told him about my project. We exchanged a few emails and exchanged a few sketches of the projected future shed. After that, I made a trip to London and we had a consultation with Sebastian Kellner at Backyard Escapes Studios headquarters, we decided that we would go for a 12 x 10 foot studio shed. Sebastian was very receptive to our demands and suggestions. In a few days Sebastian came up with the plan and the labor and material costs for the shed. Sometime in mid-July 2018 the shed was built on site in two days. The end result was an exquisite studio shed. I finished the interior due to the special requirements acoustically speaking that a recording studio has. Sebastian and his teammate did the job well, in a timely fashion, and completely honoring the cost initially quoted. I’m happy that I completed this project, which got me a studio space that I’ve dreamed to have for a long time, but also helped me in meeting a great friend such Sebastian Kellner. I highly recommend Backyard Escapes Studios to anyone looking to expand their living space or their private art space.
