David and his staff are very helpful, through the whole decision / purchase / build / ship process. No pressure, and plenty of attention and information. They arranged for us to see several of their homes on our island, and in our area. David personally came out to our property while we were still deciding on a model, and the exact location for it, and was very thoughtful in helping us make those decisions.

In our search for the perfect design for our Big Island home in Hawai'i, we were able to meet with David Sands of Bamboo Living and actually see the concept in action. We had been looking at appropriate building kits for Hawai`i's lush windward climate, searching online from our mainland home for quite some time. Bamboo Living has the most beautiful and sustainable option melded with David Sands' brilliant design elements. To actually see, feel, and touch the structure was invaluable to us, and the experience changed us forever. We hope to be able to have a bamboo home at some point on our island land!

Our Bamboo home was a dream come true. From the beginning David Sands was creative, helpful and on top of things. We designed our beautiful, resort level home together, sent the plans to Vietnam for construction, watched it being put together. Waited patiently for the shipping...opened the containers and wala a fully built (some assembly required) Bamboo custom home. As the walls went up and the creation took shape over 8 days it was an unbelievable experience. Our interior took extra time and attention to detail but our home (Pulelehua) which means butterfly in Hawaiian was a caterpillar to beautiful butterfly beginning of life and a whole new living experience for us. The energy of living in this beautiful home is unexplainable..a peaceful, meditative home of harmony and life. I worked with David Sands of Bamboo Living Homes to design and build the home of my dreams. He was such a delight to work with, and is so knowledgeable about using bamboo as an alternative for building homes. As an architect, he adapted my dream house plans to transform into a beautiful solid bamboo structure that is eco-friendly and green. David was very supportive throughout the entire project, and even got his hands dirty to help build our home. He has worked tirelessly over the years to promote his vision of building with bamboo instead of wood, and was able to beome the only certified bamoo builder in our country! I built three bamboo guests houses that were very popular with guests. My wife and I finally built our small-size bamboo house that is cozy, charming with front lanai for breakfast and screen bamboo deck on back where we sleep. It's the Jungle tree house you dream about when you imagine yourself in Hawaii heaven. I'd recommend this BambooLiving home to anyone with sustainable values who wants to live in his/her values. Oh, when we built the foundation and the house arrived in a container, it was up in two days!

We are very happy with our bamboo home purchased from Bamboo Living Homes. Working with David Sands (owner and architect) we were able to modify the Polynesian 1294 model to suit our needs--split master, extended and screened in lanais. We were guided through the whole process and there were updates and photos of our house as it went through the building process in Viet Nam. The home went up very fast ( 4 days and it was dried in) and the finishing process went smoothly as David was available to help with any issues that came up. The craftsmanship and quality of the bamboo work is of the highest quality and we are very proud of our home. Going on two years now and we are so happy that we are considering another on our vacation lot here in Hawaii.
