Beaulieu Design

We hired Charline Beaulieu of Beaulieu Design to help us redecorate and stage the main floor of our home. Charline was instrumental in helping us achieve our vision, and the end result surpassed all of our expectations. She and her team were such a pleasure to work with. Charline's design expertise was invaluable, saving us time and money. Her excellent communication and organizational skills (e.g. itemized Excel sheets tracking all purchases) kept the project running smoothly and stress-free. Her taste is impeccable. I love our home and wouldn't change a thing.

With an aging ensuite bathroom in a 1980’s property my wife and I wanted to have a significant redesign and renovation but didn’t know where to turn for quality work. After some considerable searching and following the recommendation of friends we tried the costing and design service offered by the CKC Group and Beaulieu Design services. At the centre of the renovation was achieving a design that fitted with our main bedroom and house but met our needs and wants in terms of facilities, and general atmosphere that we want created. Charline Beaulieu is an exceptional listener and brought innovative and achievable design suggestions and solutions to the initial design meetings. Charline was involved with the project throughout the design and build process – attending to the details with the renovation team, addressing unforeseen obstacles with us where decisions were required and following up with us at every stage of the project to gather our feedback and ensure that she and the renovation team were meeting the initial goals that we agreed and that we continued to be satisfied. In addition to the ensuite bathroom, Charline was liberal with her advice for design and colour suggestions for the adjoining master bedroom that my wife and I were redecorating. Charline Beaulieu provided a very high degree of service, with a great attitude at a cost that was within the original estimate and went further with advice in other elements of the adjoining room. We have been delighted with the design, which goes well beyond what we could have hoped for at the outset: a beautiful and very practical design with breathtaking attention to detail. We had no hesitation contracting with the CKC and Beaulieu design team again for the renovation of our kitchen, ground floor bathroom and retile of our entire ground floor. The existing kitchen was a closed space, impractical to use and ageing. Our experience with the teams’ earlier redesign and renovation of our ensuite bathroom was as excellent - except the undertaking of this work was on a much larger scale. Beaulieu Design excelled itself in another beautiful and extremely well thought through design which opened the space within the kitchen in a design that we are exceptionally pleased with. It is like having a new house! As with the earlier ensuite bathroom re design, Charline was liberal with her advice for colour and design choices for the adjoining family room and dining room. Charline has an acute design eye and her designs and suggestions for adjoining spaces were creative and completely matched ambience that my wife and I were seeking. Again, CKC’s project management discipline and quality of craftsmen resulted in a final product that was exactly as we had agreed and finished on time and on budget.

We built our dream home in 2009 on the Mississippi Lake in Carleton Place. Designing our own home was new territory for us so we needed to depend on people who were experts in the field. Once the initial concept plans were completed we needed someone to help with the details of the living spaces. Having heard only positive reviews about Charline Beaulieu and her work we knew just who to call. Charline first met with us to get to know who we were, including our likes and dislikes, and learn about our current lifestyle. We then discussed our vision for our new home. Charline took what she learned from that initial meeting and drew up working plans for our living spaces. She kept in close contact with us as she worked on our plans, asking questions and making revisions to meet our needs. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We were very excited about the finished product when it was presented to us. We were so pleased with her work; it was an easy decision to stay with Charline to complete the interior design and decorating work. I can only imagine the challenges Charline faced as she worked to stay within the financial budget we gave her while trying to create the dream home we envisioned. What we wanted and what we could afford were at times misaligned, but Charline worked her magic with always a smile on her face. Knowing where to shop and having connections to the right people saved us hours of time as we worked to complete the interior design of the house. The hours she spent with us creating a colour scheme and then shopping with us to pick out everything from custom cabinetry to bathroom fixtures, tile, appliances, and furniture were invaluable to us. Her expert knowledge of high quality products and eye for seamless design to make a house a home brought our vision to fruition. We moved in to the house and have never looked back. There isn't anything that we would change. The large, open living spaces are warm and welcoming and the working areas such as the kitchen are extremely functional and enjoyable to spend time in. My husband and I were planning to renovate our kitchen. As it was to be a complete renovation we decided to hire a designer. We met Charline at a design show and we were very impressed with her enthusiasm for design. Charline worked closely with us during the whole renovation, it was an incredible working with her. She developed a plans for our kitchen which included a lighting plan and electrical plan. She is very knowledgeable, creative, competent, professional and has a great attitude and work ethic. Our kitchen is amazing! We were so pleased with our kitchen that we hired Charline to do our main floor bathroom, which is also amazing. We’ve had friends and family praise our renovations and they even said that it was a dream kitchen worthy of being in a house and home magazine. We are now planning to renovate our master bathroom and bedroom and will hire Charline to do the job. Working with Charline has been one of the best decisions we have ever made.

We undertook the renovation of the complete main floor of our home in the summer of 2011. We initially met Charline in 2010 at the Home and Design Show. After speaking with several designers at their respective booth's we both agreed Charline stood out from the rest. We attended the show with the drawings of our existing main floor and what really impressed us was that Charline showed immediate engagement by giving us some design ideas on the spot. Through this long renovation journey Charline demonstrated many qualities: Adaptability- was able to work with an exacting individual who is experienced in the construction and design industry Flexibility-was able to consider and integrate our ideas into the final plan Commitment-made many trips to our home and to suppliers with us. We always felt she made herself available in our constrained schedules. Practical- created a functional and workable space despite some design challenges. Was conscious of budget throughout. In 2010 we had the pleasure of working with Charline Beaulieu on an extensive renovation project. Charline analysed our specific needs and requests and came up with a fantastic design after we had struggled for years with what to do to with the main floor of our home. To Charline Beaulieu, Beaulieu Design, – Chris and I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for our exceptional kitchen renovation. In the early spring of 2008 we decided to renovate our kitchen – we had listened to many horror stories by friends and family and were quite anxious about putting such a large project in a complete stranger’s hands. Chris and I are both very busy professionals and we knew we needed expert help as neither of us had any experience with a renovation of this size. Charline of Beaulieu Design was recommended by a friend. Charline had just relocated to the area. We met with Charline and liked her immediately. She was warm and friendly and listened to our ideas and or suggestions to what we thought would work for us. Within days, Charline came up with 7 design sketches for us to look at. She walked us thru each sketch - going over the pros and cons of each. Once we decided on new design, she agreed to work with Carleton Kitchen and Bath to achieve our goal. The actual renovations started June 16th and by September 7th we were back in our totally redesigned kitchen – this was an extensive renovation with the kitchen being gutted, walls being removed, new windows and doors, new appliances, lighting and then the all important cupboards, island etc. Our “angel” Charline was on site weekly, if not more often, making sure the design was being followed. She help us choose just the right style of cabinetry, paint, flooring, lighting and she even went to Toronto to get our granite for the kitchen. I remember the day our new doors were coming and we forget to get the lock sets - Charline went to Home Depot and picked them up for us!! Charline was extremely professional, kind and always very respectful of working in our home. We felt by the end of the project that she was a new friend. The end result is a wonderful kitchen that definitely has a WOW factor. There is not one thing we would change. Chris and I enjoy cooking in our new kitchen and entertaining family and friends.

Charline did a fantastic job designing my kitchen, when she came to see me she asked good questions like what I didn't like about my kitchen, things I wanted and how I used my kitchen and what was important to me. She came back with a few options given the limited space, but this showed me that she took into consideration all of my needs. I was able to choose fairly quickly the design that would work for me. Not only did Charline include what I wanted, she added a few functional ideas of her own that added great value. In addition to efficiently using the space, she worked with me to select beautiful cabinetry, my kitchen is gorgeous! Charline adds her own personal flair making my kitchen unique and one-of-A-kind. I have received so many compliments from neighbours a friends, many visitors have asked who did this wonderful design, I am always proud to tell them about Charline.
