Blue Horse Contemporary Design

In February of this year while I was having my morning coffee and scrolling through Facebook, this picture popped up and I thought what a beautiful color! I absolutely fell in love with the green. I called my good friend and designer professional to help me transform my kitchen. Kim of Blue Horse Contemporary Designs and her assistant Christine made all my dreams come true with her excellent ideas and her utmost patience. Her team of talented contractors were very respectful for the people and dogs in the house and the other rooms. They were able to minimize the construction dust that comes along With any project. At the end of every day, they cleaned up their workspace and kept their tools out of your way. Kim has excellent taste and I’m so happy we were able to work together on my kitchen renovation!!! Now onto part two the family room!!!

We worked with Kim and Christine from Blue Horse Contemporary Design to assist with our kitchen design and color selections. We wanted to do most of the work ourselves, and really just wanted help with picking styles, finishes, and color coordination, which had felt overwhelming as we liked so many different options! Blue Horse Contemporary Design made the process easy and fun. We loved their ideas, enjoyed bouncing thoughts back and forth, and even found ourselves chatting about other projects along the way. They left us with a solid plan, including: 2 layout options we are considering sample materials and colors for every part of the project pictures of options for fixtures/knobs/handles/faucets that we had discussed and... most importantly, an invitation to contact them if any questions or problems come up. We would not hesitate to work with them again; it felt like having friends come over who knew you and what you liked!

I had such a great experience working with Blue Horse Contemporary Designs! From start to finish, Kim and Christine were super easy and fun to collaborate with. They took the time to understand my style and vision, then transformed my living room and dining room with a sleek, modern update. What I loved most was how they incorporated my treasured pieces into the design—everything felt fresh and stylish but still personal. They even went above and beyond by having a custom painting created of one of our happiest places, which really tied the whole space together. Highly recommend!

We retained Blue Horse with a basic vision of a project that we wanted to do at the house. They really made the idea come alive handling each and every step of the process with numerous suggestions and ideas that took the impact and success of the project to the moon. Their ability to capture what you can describe and briefly sketch was amazing. I highly recommend them to enhance any area of your home where you have an idea of what you wanted to look like. Kim has been assisting me with my home from day one when I purchased it. I love how my home has turned out. She has been such a pleasure to work with and I know I will be working with her in the future with new projects.

Kim and Christine were absolutely wonderful to work with! They helped my husband and I with the renovations we were hoping for with our bathrooms along with choosing a paint color for our house interior walls and fireplace to achieve an updated look. In beginning to tackle our bathroom renovations a couple of years ago, I was stuck on how to proceed with the powder room. I wanted to run my ideas past a design professional who was highly rated, was located nearby, and who offered consultations by the hour. I looked on houzz, and Kim checked all of those boxes. Her advice back then helped me take the design to a whole other level, so there was no question that I would consult with her about my master bathroom renovation this year when I was once again stuck. I was turning my brain inside out to figure out details like where the molding trim should begin and end, what tile to use on the shower floor, what kind of backsplash would look best, etc. Her expert tips and calm and confident professional input were reassuring and tremendously stress-reducing. Her casual comment about building on the dramatic and organic style of the powder room provided a strong push to get me out of the serene white hole I'd dug for myself. I immediately began looking for a bolder nature-themed wallpaper to replace the soft, pale pattern I'd chosen, and as soon as the right one materialized, the rest of the room fell together pretty quickly. I'm really impressed with how well Kim's advice has worked out, even though my house isn't even in her contemporary style specialization. I'm guessing it reflects her great command of fundamental design principles.

I love my new kitchen. The only thing I would change is that I wouldn't have picked black countertops (the black was my choice). They show every speck of dust! The kitchen is beautiful though, and I love the colors we picked out.

Kim and Christine are a pleasure to work with! We had never worked with an interior design service before, so we were a bit nervous at first. They put us at ease, worked with our budget and our preferences, and created a master bedroom, master bath, and tween girl's bedroom that we absolutely love! Both Kim and Christine are accomplished artists and it really shines through in their work. Thank you so much for sharing your resources with me. I'm so glad I called you in for a consultation. I was so focused on the shell of the room that I hadn't even given any thought to the mirror and lighting. Now that I've done some research, I've seen some new angles on developing a style and creating a look that hadn't occurred to me before. It definitely pays to talk to a pro.

Our family is so happy with our new interior. Kim worked with us to come up with a new layout and color scheme for various rooms in our house that needed revamping. We enjoy our new layout; everything is so much brighter and more welcoming. She even added her own personal touches by painting a gorgeous canvas for our living room. We've enjoyed having people over to debut our renovation.

Kim was so wonderful to work with! She really listened to what we had envisioned for updating our 30 year old kitchen and flooring. She not only offered multiple suggestions to help us find a style that fit our taste and needs, she went out of her way to order materials and make sure deliveries and construction were completed in a timely manor. I met Kim over a year ago when I was looking for a contractor to remodel my condo (fixer upper). She had put me in contact with someone awesome! After the condo finished being remodeled I then began to start working with Kim immediately and the past year she has helped me design my bedroom, kitchen, living room, and dining room! After my kids moved out I needed help making the transition from a 4200 SF multi-story family house to a 1400 SF one-level home. So much of my old furniture would not fit in the new place, and the task of figuring out what to keep and what to replace was daunting. Kim worked with me right from the start. She helped me choose interior and exterior paint colors for the new house, and we then we selected new furnishings for the deck, living room, and dining room that are perfect for fit and function (and that work well with the pieces I kept from the old house), along with lighting and fixtures that really look great in my new space. Kim was excellent to work with. She helped me picked window treatments for my home home and nursery. I appreciated that she gave me options that were most practical for the rooms I needed coverage, not just most expensive. I am so happy with the way everything turned out! My husband and I took on the challenge to design and build a house; I knew in my mind what style I wanted, but did not know what to call it. Kim, at Blue Horse Contemporary Design, thoroughly evaluated my likes and dislikes then helped me make interior trim choices. She absolutely nailed it! During the latter part of our build, the builder made some egregious errors with regard to the kitchen counter tops. She was happy to step in and offer interior design solutions that would satisfy both parties. She also assisted us with window treatments, paint selection, and we will work with her to accent the walls with artwork. We will hire her to complete the living space on the deck, and when we are ready to design the patio/outdoor entertaining area - she will be our go-to. I appreciate her patience, her candor, and that she LISTENS to the customer! I highly recommend Kim - she is a gem.
