One of the hardest things about being a homeowner is finding contractors to do repair work. Blackwood Construction is a godsend because they do a wide range of projects with high quality work. Recently our list of repairs included fixing a roof leak, replacing a few deck boards, installing a new storm door, and repairing ceiling drywall. Calling around I heard, "We only install new roofs including the boards," and "We only install new decks from scratch," and "We only install storm doors if you buy them from us." With Blackwood Construction it is nice to be able to use one company for various projects and not have the frustration of dealing with many contractors. Most homeowners need fixes and repairs, not everything torn down and built from scratch. We highly recommend Blackwood Construction. A very positive experience It was our good fortune to have found Blackwood Construction. We moved into a 13 year old home, identified the areas needing replacement, upgrading and modified to better fit who we are. Having built two homes prior, we were experienced in the process. Blackwood and its owner, Robert Woods, (”Woody”) worked with us through the process. From the list we wanted to address, he listened, offered suggestions, worked with us and lined up the staff to accomplish the task. He provided a number of references, when checked, gave us the confidence that we had chosen the right contractor. The project began on the date agreed on, demolition and preparation moved along efficiently, carefully and cleanly. Any question or concern raised throughout the project was addressed by Woody, as he kept us aware of each day’s schedule. He coordinated the plumbing, electrical, carpentry, tile installers and dry wall subcontractors, working to complete the projects in the kitchen, bathrooms and basement. It was done methodically to minimize the disruption in our lives. Each of the subcontractors was respectful, kept to the task and showed a high degree of professionalism in the quality of their work. The project was completed within the time window Woody had outlined. We join with those who have recommended Blackwood Construction. Our experience from start to finish was personable and professional. The final high quality of all the projects completed, has met our requirements and expectations.
