Blu Homes

I don't own a Blu Home (yet), but I've had the privilege to be on video shoots of the factory and film at several locations where they've "set" the home. There are several things that totally impress me with Blu Homes: 1. The people: - Everyone is committed to the highest standards and not just interested in churning out homes and making money - All employees I've met - from the factory workers, to the designers, to the project managers - are positive, friendly, and smart. - You can feel when a company works together well as a team and when it doesn't. Blu Homes is top of its game in terms of teamwork. 2. The design: - Amazing model choices, not just for pre-fab homes, but for homes in general - Designing online and in 3D - Tons of cool exterior and interior choices once you pick your model - They're green! 3. Efficiency and Transparency - You know your upfront costs - They take care of all of the permits, paperwork, headache - The house is set in just a day or two and finished in a matter of weeks Overall, I love that Blu Homes really cares about your living experience. I hope to one day be living in a Blu Home.

Two years ago I built a Blu Homes BreezeHouse in the Hudson Valley, on a spectacular hilltop site, overlooking the mountains that separate New York from southern Massachusetts . I chose Blu after much research on pre-built homes. I visited their factory, and was impressed by the quality of their product, as well as their commitment to green values and energy efficiency. And also the beautiful modern home designs they offered. In particular, the BreezeHouse, whose architecture was ideally suited to my site. With its large expanses of glass, and its open, airy layout, the BreezeHouse truly becomes one with its site, making the outdoors an intrinsic element in the experience of the house. I am proud of the home Blu and I built together.

I have worked with BluHomes on a number of projects at this point and their communication, attitude, demeanor, and professionalism has always been top notch. They have always been open to collaboration and truly listen and offer great advice during the artistic process. With an approachable, easy-going attitude and honesty across the board, I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to work with BluHomes in either a professional or consumer capacity. I've got nothing but great things to say about my experience working with them over the past year! You will feel like you are working amongst friends whenever you are dealing with BluHomes, and that is a rare quality these days.

I am an interior designer with very demanding standards and expectations regarding construction and architectural integrity. My husband and I recently built a Blu Home on a beautiful lakefront property in the Hudson Valley, NY. We moved from a home I had personally designed and built and I was hopeful my collaboration with Blu would be as fulfilling. I am excited to say our home meets our expectations for beauty, energy efficiency and sound construction. We chose a delightfully small 1000 square foot model and it appears twice its size due to its intelligent, spacious layout. I also worked with Blu Homes as a professional and staged a larger model home of a different design which was as impressive. Great company and terrific to work with because they stay involved and attentive throughout the project.

I had the pleasure of working with the Blu Team on two of their model Homes (Mare Island and Malibu). What I found to be most refreshing about the team was that everyone from the sales rep to the grounds crew understood the product. They knew how it was produced, why things were completed in said way and how it impacted the overall nature of the design. As an interior decorator, I have worked with many home builders but by far, I was most impressed with Blu. From a stylistic perspective, I loved working on the homes as they provided me the opportunity to jump in several different design directions. Whether it was coastal chic or contemporary Wine Country -- or whatever lies in between -- the thing is that the construction of the homes lends themselves to a multitude of styles. It was a dream job and I hope to get the opportunity to work with them again!

I am impressed with the quality and construction of Blu Homes, however, I think the cost per square foot is high.
