Reid Highley of CH Architects is everything an excellent architect should be. He is creative, organized, accommodating, and communicative. He listens to what the client wants and delivers. My project was doubling the size of a 1200 square foot house. The addition has many windows as per my request, a second floor as per my request, large outdoor living spaces as per my request, and a large music studio as per my request. The large addition flows beautifully with the original structure. He actively made suggestions that could cut the final price, but not compromise the quality of the final project. His prices and billing are clearly explained. Communication was excellent. He always responded to emails, texts, and phone calls within 24 hours if not before. I highly recommend CH Architects.

We had the pleasure of working with the architect, Reid Highley, during the design and construction of our new home on a lot we had purchased in a historic downtown neighborhood. The presentation he made to the local historic district commission on the plans for our home was clear and concise, demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the architectural design requirements for new construction in the historic district and assured that our project was rapidly approved without any delay. We found Reid to be very attentive to the ideas and concepts (essentially our ‘wish’ list) we brought to the project, and able to expertly guide us on the design implications of our wish list from the architectural aesthetics standpoint while also able to help us consider additional design elements. Reid has had extensive experience working with a number of builders in our area and was able to help us identify a general contractor who could execute the project to a very high standard. Also, Reid well understands the details (and realities) of the construction process and was adept at applying his extensive building experience to solve issues which inevitably arise along the way. We appreciated his patience in answering all our questions about the building process, and in particular, his attention to detail and the follow up he demonstrated throughout the project. He was also always available to help us understand and address the many questions coming from the contractor throughout the construction process. Overall, Reid was instrumental in helping us realize a beautifully designed and well-constructed home and we would highly recommend this talented architect.

We hired Reid Highley of CH Architects to remodel our home (built 1932) in historic downtown Hillsborough, NC. Reid was fantastic! We could not have had a better experience with Reid, from the beginning to the end! Reid explained the process carefully, was extremely attentive to details, and was patient with my wife and me throughout. His creativity was exceptional, the ideas that he came up with and successfully implemented were vastly superior to what we even dreamed for.
