Cornerstone Builders & Associates are truly remarkable. They designed our home to suit us perfectly and built it within our budget and within our time frame. They paid attention to every detail of the design and construction process so that we could trust them and enjoy the building process. They assisted us with all of the selections and helped us attain the "feel" that we were trying to achieve through the decor and color scheme. We absolutely love our home and could not be more proud of Cornerstone Builders and thankful for their spectacular work.

Cornerstone's Design Process is Remarkable Nada Djordjevic and her company Cornerstone Builders are really amazing. We can't say enough how much we have enjoyed working with Nada and how pleased we are with the results of our design project with her. Note on Construction: We worked with Cornerstone on a project that--for reasons unrelated to them--ultimately was put on hold, so we're not directly familiar with her building process. However, we have heard nothing but the strongest praise for her quality and especially her ability to keep a project on schedule, even through adverse weather and circumstance. As far as the design side of the project, it was simply a joy to work with Nada. She used her unique and thoughtful approach to helping us design a home that fit our lifestyle perfectly. She starts with an in-depth interview/questionnaire, getting down to little things like "are you left- or right-handed?" and "do you cook with fresh, frozen, or canned ingredients?" to help determine things like kitchen layout, etc. She did a great job of adding just a few focal-point touches that made the design both more notable and more "us". And--as is reportedly common--when the initial construction estimates came back higher than our budget, she took her knowledge of what was important to us (and what wasn't) to cut out or scale back the elements that cost a lot but didn't add value for us. A little advice: As first-time potential builders, we didn't really know how much various elements (finishes, construction choices, etc.) would cost. Nada did try to help us make some general projections with some "$/square foot" rules of thumb as we went along, but we were pretty surprised by the initial quotation, and needed to make some significant adjustments to yield savings to get the project to "work" for our budget. If this is your first time around, we'd suggest: A) Getting (and listening to) Nada's input on the cost of elements you are considering including, before getting to the finish line, and B) Starting with more of a "baseline design" (what you can't live without) and adding to it, rather than starting with your dream home and shocking yourself with how expensive your taste is. Overall, we thought the process was amazing, and the result of the design phase was absolutely perfect for us and our budget.

They built an add on to my home. Matched the roof line, a skylight I have never had a problem with. They we're efficient and professional. Now I have a business in my home couldn't be happier.

We had the pleasure of purchasing a Cornerstone built home in 2003. They truly are masters at the craft of building homes that offer quality and unique design elements that agreed with our lifestyle. We prefer casual elegance as our design preference. The custom lighting (both indoor & exterior), built-ins, and style elements throughout the home touched on everything we desired in a home. Nada & Jovan, and their team of professionals, captured our personality exactly! The crown molding and trim work were impeccable and not a seam to be found, which delighted my husband who is quite picky about those elements. We hope to build to another home with Cornerstone some day! Thanks guys for making our home so perfect!

I have recently became the owner of a Cornerstone built home from 2004. My house isn't what I would consider a "custom built" home, but for the 300k price point, I would expect a little better quality in the "bones" of the house. There are numerous examples of where cheaper materials were used and corners were cut. (i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) Aesthetically speaking though, CBA did use mid to high quality finishes in areas that you would expect to see giving the illusion of a better built home. ( i.e. windows, flooring, built-ins) My advice to anyone considering buying a home built by Cornerstone would be to get professional opinions on top of what a home inspector says is ok. Just because some thing is up to "code," doesn't guarantee it's what you think it should be.

The experience we had with Nada and Jovan was outstanding ! They built our English country cottage dream home with style and quality. Nada is an architect with an eye for detail and works to make your vision come true. Jovan and Nada are true professionals who provide a very positive building experience. Cornerstone built our primary residence in St. Joseph, MI. We were so happy with Nada and the team at Cornerstone that we also hired them to build our summer home at Beachwalk (Michigan City, IN). I would recommend Cornerstone without reservations. I hired them to build my house and could go on and on about the positive experience it was. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail and always trying to save me money, when it was a time in the building market when not many new homes were being built and they could have charged me more to make up their loss in income. My house is at the end of a street far inside a subdivision. And it is so gorgeous. I asked them to please put my house in the builder's showcase that would allow them free advertising and visitors walking through my house hoping that other's would see what a great job they did and what an ethical and moral building company they run. I printed up a letter to give to those who viewed my house letting them know what a great job Cornerstone did and what an ethical business they run. I would be more than happy to speak to anyone, anytime, to verify my endorsement and letting them know that if they choose Cornerstone, they are choosing the premiere building company in Michiana and they will get unmatched quality for their money. Do not look any further if you are reading this. Choose Cornerstone Builders to build your new home and you will have the rest of your life to be glad you made that decision. We hired Cornerstone to build our home and working with Nada and the entire Cornerstone team was a dream. The quality of their workmanship and personal attention they provided during the entire project was exceptional. Nada was able to take our rough ideas of what kind of house we wanted to build and shape them into a design that met all our goals and at the same time did not go over the budget. Our experience in hiring Cornerstone for a kitchen remodel was outstanding in every respect. We got bids for this complete remodel project from 5 firms, and Cornerstone was far and away the best in their design, value, and time frame for completion. Once under contract they were a joy to deal with and kept every promise. We are both professionals by occupation and appreciate dealing with contractors who are also professional in their work. Nada and Jovan are total professionals in every way. Nada is a gifted designer, and is so easy to work with. She had ideas that were far better for our needs than any of the other firms that bid on the project. On the few occasions that we desired something different than she suggested, she was very happy to accommodate our ideas. Jovan was also the consummate professional and does beautiful work. The project was completed on time and within budget and looks as though it cost twice as much as it did. We have received raves from all who have seen our new kitchen.
