I had an insurance claim and Columbus flooring and more was suggested as my one stop for it all. My subfloor was being replaced in places and they had the people to do it. The original installers were polite and courteous, quick, and fixed the most dangerous parts of our floor. The second crew coming in tried to level out a massive gap in the floor and place my flooring over it. Walking on it was like walking on a roller coaster. I complained and thought we were being taken care of. Alan assured me I was a priority. I am now working on my 3rd month on a sub floor and no flooring down even though they acknowledged my problems. I have had nothing but trouble and they seem to have a hard time delivering on promises.

Randy, we are truly concerned about your flooring and doing the job correctly and for the long term. Your home has some unique characteristics in the subfloor that were not, and could not, be detected until the remainder of the existing flooring was removed. The initial crew sent out are very competent installers but when the subfloor issues became obvious, they were pulled off in deference to our top subfloor crew chief. As the industry has learned, a good floor starts with a good subfloor. Your home had as much as a 3/4" deflection between floor joists. While that may not sound like a lot, it is the direct result of the "roller coaster" effect that you mentioned. That is not normal and we did not create the subfloor condition, but we certainly were not going to leave you with an inferior installation. The only resolution was to repair the subfloor which is not a normal scope item. Some, but not all, of the needed subfloor repairs were identified initially as work that was needed. The crew that we felt best to do this work and to do it correctly had been tied up the job ahead of yours which took almost two weeks longer than expected correcting subfloor issues. No one was placed ahead of your job. The job our crew was on commanded the same care and diligence that have been afforded to you. We simply will not do second rate work, and unfortunately, good work takes time. We trust that the end result will justify your patience in getting the flooring (and subfloor) right versus getting it simply done.
