Custom Floors & Custom Stone

Horrible experience, do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. We spent over $15,000 on flooring and there were issues every step along the way, from ordering to installing. The only step they were good at was cashing our checks. Our story is too long to share here but they failed us more than once, promised to fix everything numerous times, Mike (Sensitive Information Hidden) told us he would personally come to our house to ensure everything would be fixed, once and for all. He never showed up. They were pathetically unprofessional, real clowns. At the end, we decided to sadly accept our $15,000 + loss, live with floors that are falling apart less than a year after they've been installed, and move on. We reached out to Jerry (Sensitive Information Hidden) (owner) to let him know in detail what happened to us, he did not even bother responding to us. That says it all. Please, stay away from these people.

We hired Custom Floors to install tile and carpet in our new home. The contract was for over 100K. The initial experience with the salesperson was positive; however, the rest of the experience from there has been absolutely terrible. We were given an expected start date for the tile installation and told that it would take four weeks to complete the job. To date, 6 weeks later, they have only fully completed tile in two rooms, and no showers have been fully completed. They do not show up when they say they will, and they do not stay on the job or man the job consistently. Further, we are unable to get any answers on why the job is being held up or when they expect to complete it. The carpet was installed when they promised, so this is a the only positive for the company. If I had it to do over I would NOT hire this company. If you are considering Custom Floors for tile installation, look elsewhere!

Buyer beware! I wish I had read all the negative Yelp and Google reviews prior to doing business with Custom Stone. Don’t be taken in by their pretty showroom and large selection of flooring products. They will sell to you, the unsuspecting customer, broken and damaged tile and then accuse you of causing that damage. Damage that is so extensive it could only have occurred before or during transport to their warehouse. I thought they were a reputable company who would make it right. Wrong. Once you drive away they will accuse you or your contractor of accidentally or intentionally spoiling it as a way of getting around their no return policy, even though the damage was reported immediately upon opening the cartons at home and prior to starting installation. So you will end up paying hundreds of dollars for tile that is so unusable it has to be thrown away. We will never do business with them again.

My wife and I recently worked with Custom Stone on remodeling all of our kitchen counters. We are thoroughly happy with the result . In the design phase Rodney was right on with finding us the perfect granite that worked with our existing color palette. Also, the selections of product in their showroom is beyond compare.Project management worked well throughout and Alex, the installation leader was very knowledgeable and professional. We are both happy campers.

I have worked with Custom Floors and Custom Stone on several projects. The showroom is a clients dream, so many selections. Jenn and Rodney have been great help on my projects.

The people at Custom Stone are incredible. They are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I own a kitchen and bath design/sell company and will not use anyone else for granite and quartz. My rep. Rodney, is so supportive and the scheduler, Amy, goes out of her way to accommodate us. The gentleman that does templates and their installers are all polite, considerate and do fantastic work.

Custom Floors installed porcelain tile in our 150 sq. ft. 3-season sunroom. Sales Associate Scott Gray was very knowledgeable and took the time to share the details of the product and process with us, since we were very interested in both. The timeline for ordering and scheduling installation worked out as Scott said it would. The installers were on time, worked very efficiently, laid the tiles exactly per the schematic we provided to Scott, and cleaned up nicely when finished. The only issue we had through the whole relationship was with the pricing as shown on the shelf vs. how the pricing actually works. The shelf price was listed as "$10.25/sq. ft. installed," which included thinset, grout and labor. We were impressed that the price was not for the tile alone, as is the case at most places. This, we thought, made it easy to estimate the cost of the project: 150 sq. ft. x $10.25/sq. ft. When we got the quote on the project, the cost was 30% more than our estimate. This was because it would take 30% more tile to cover our 150 sq. foot room due to scrap, breakage, and the need to buy whole boxes. And we would be paying the "installed" price for these extra tiles that would not actually be "installed." Once this was explained, we understood, and the overall cost of the project seemed in line with other places. But the shelf pricing was both very misleading, and actually not at all helpful except to compare one tile against another. That said, now that we know how the pricing works, we would use Custom Floors again. We advised them to clarify this up front for future prospective customers because it left a bad first impression with us.
