The first time I heard the name Barry Frieler was when I asked a friend of mine who is a truss designer to recommend a good contractor. He described Barry as ‘very meticulous,’ and he was not wrong! And when I asked Barry if they built to code, he said, “No, we build three levels above code.” Another truth. Dennis Blosberg is NCCB’s numbers guy. He put our contract together with a very keen eye. Nothing was missed. And he explained everything in very easy-to-understand, layman’s English. As my wife and I later learned , after NCCB built our dream house, there are many ways a builder can bamboozle a potential customer just to get the contract, only to paint them into a corner later on that only more money can get them out of. NCCB does NOT do that. Everything was well explained and understood before they did it. From shingles to shelving, these guys have you covered!

I chose North Country Custom Builders to build my new lake home for many reasons. I worked directly with Dennis Blosberg, who is one of the partners/owners, and was truly impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and desire to make sure I was 100% satisfied upon completion of my new home. Dennis not only guided me through the entire process, but also stayed right by my side in helping me make important decisions. The incredible relationships and respect Dennis has with all his sub-contractors is a key factor in how quickly and smoothly my build was completed. My house was actually completed ahead of schedule and rarely does that happen. The quality of my home far surpasses a lot of construction I see in this area. Even now that my home is complete, should I have any questions Dennis has encouraged me to contact him any time ... and he always responds quickly. With all the impressive experience behind Dennis Blosberg, I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to build a home or cabin of impeccable quality.

My Company Sound Communications have done many projects with Dennis Blosberg. He is the only contractor in my opinion that is always on top of all the details of every trade on his projects. He is always as knowledgeable of every trade as to know if things are getting done right before its to late. His exceptional attention to detail always sticks out to me. I would us Dennis on any of my own projects. I believe he is the best at what he does.

We had a major storm hit our area and thankfully the only damage done to my mother's property was a massive pine that crushed her garage. Compared to the damage done to neighbor's homes, we were lucky, but I was concerned about finding someone do build "just a garage". Dennis was referred to me by a friend (a professional roofer). He met me on-site to view the job first hand. Meetings and phone calls were prompt and professional with a detailed plan for moving forward. We are very pleased with the final result. I highly recommend Dennis and his crew.

Dennis Blosberg was our general contractor on a total remodel of a kitchen and two bathrooms on our Gull Lake home. Because this is a log home there were various technical and architectural challenges that needed to be overcome. He worked well with subcontractors and others providing services on the project. Dennis was always available and ready to provide advice and expertise to move the project along. He was able to bring the project in at budget and in exactly the way we wanted. Dennis has remained available to us to address professional issues related to storm damage to our property. When we began our remodeling project I was unsure of a lot of things. Our old house had been added onto once and I wasn't sure if the old footings would support a new structure. Design layout and finishing touches were beyond my imagination. My husband had heard good things about Dennis, so we contacted him to take a look at our project. Dennis put our minds to rest about the footing issues in short order, and had so many good ideas right off the top of his head, that we contracted with him right away to do our project. He was very professional in his presentation, accurate in time schedules, easy to talk to, his subs were super, and the whole project just went like clockwork. Dennis' personality was definitely a five star and we are 110% happy with our new home.

I have worked with Dennis on 2 different projects. We would not have worked with him on the second project if he had not done a great job on the first. Dennis was extremely thorough before, during and after the projects were completed. As an example, when we were working on plans with the architect, Dennis noticed a structural problem that the architect did not notice. Dennis' attention to detail was second to none. Dennis was always there and available whenever we had questions. Even months after we were done with out project, I could call Dennis with any questions, problems. Even if it was something that he was not responsible for, he was willing to put pressure on someone to help me get it fixed. He could have walked away and not worried about anything but he took everything very personally. He was very much a perfectionist and wanted to make everything right if he could. I would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Dennis Blosberg was the project manager for my husband and me as we built a lake home in the Brainerd Lakes Area. I feel so lucky to have come upon such a fantastic professional! From the moment Dennis came to work with us, we were put at ease. We came with an idea that Dennis was able to translate into a wonderful home which exceeded our expectations. Dennis was on top of every aspect of the project at all times. He let us know in advance when decisions needed to be made regarding all aspects of the work. Dennis personally walked me through choosing appliances, millwork, HVAC, windows, fixtures, flooring, and more. Dennis was particularly fantastic in understanding and rising to meet the needs of my husband, who is paralyzed from the neck down. Dennis could anticipate the challenges for making everything accessible without being caught off guard, ever. This project was the second accessible home which we have built. Our only regret is that we did not know Dennis for the first home. Our lake home is extremely well built, was on budget, and finished 20 days earlier than we thought it would be done. When it came time to add an extra garage to our property, we went right back and relied on Dennis Blosberg again with the same excellent results.

Dennis managed our cabin build while we were 150 miles away. His regular communication included many pictures of the project. This greatly eased our concerns in taking on a building project when we couldn't be there to monitor things. We had only 5-6 sites visits. He completed the project on-time and on-budget. He has a an eye for quality and has high expectations for the sub contractors with whom he works. There were many special touches he added to our cabin that went above and beyond my standards! We were so pleased with the results of our cabin under Dennis' management that we hired him again 4 years later to rebuild our garage and boathouse. Dennis also works well with an outside architect while representing his client and advising on how to stay in budget.

I am an architect and have worked with Dennis on residential projects where he was the General Contractor. Dennis is a rare thing these days -- someone who is easy for my clients to work with and trust. He is well organized and a good communicator. Dennis also brings high level of intelligent analysis to a project. He is one of the only contractors I know of who thinks about 'building science' and has attended seminars on the subject. This makes it easier to discuss technical aspects of a project. He not only has been effective in running the project -- organizing budgets and schedules -- but has also made sure that all of the work on site is done to a high level of quality. He really looks into the details and makes sure that the subcontractors are working as they should. I recommend Dennis for any project.

Dennis Blosberg was the lead contractor in building our 5,000+ sq. ft. luxury lake home near Cross Lake, Minnesota. He met all deadlines. He had fantastic relationships with all of his subcontractors. He listened to what we wanted, was respectful, and went beyond offering new options that we didn't even consider before. Lastly, Dennis is trustworthy and has a solid knowledge base of all issues related to building, and whatever rating there is to give a contractor or a builder, I'd give him the highest possible.
