We always knew we wanted to build our forever home, but we were just not sure how to start. Once we found our perfect little wood plot of land in the country, then it was a matter of finding the right builder. We went with HBJD as we were able to design our home to fit our desires and needs. Once meeting with the excellent design team Brianna Hunger and Rebecca Laskey now we had our dream home on paper. Now we need to execute it. That's where Grace Delehanty stepped in. Grace was always so professional, guiding us on site clearing, site budget and helped us with permits . Once the Build started we got the pleasure of working with our Project Manager Jessie Glover. Jessie took over and guided us every step of the way, he kept us informed and always helped educate us on things we had yet to learn about building a house - like Frost Laws. Jessie always answered our many phone calls and kept the build on target no matter what problems arose. It was because of Jessie's professionalism and attention to detail that we were actually able to move into our home 8 months from the start of Build, ahead of the original timeline. I will not say that building your home is easy or not stressful, But the team at HBJD was there to help guide us with our many questions and concerns. If I had to do it again I would choose my same team, But we don't have to as they built our forever home for us. We are Forever grateful, Thank you Charles and Sonia

We had the pleasure of working with Homes By Josh Doyle for the construction of our home and they surpassed our expectations in every way. First, the craftsmanship is exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail and flawless execution. They were quick to offer suggestions with detailed photos shown exactly how it will look with their 3D rendering. This made picking out finishes in our home easy and efficient. Second, the HBJD Team was professional, punctual, and maintained excellent communication throughout the project. Our build manager Ried was on it! Consistent updates, clear communication, available at all times and overall extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was apparent Ried cared about our home just as much as we did and made sure things were done to perfection. Couldn't have asked for better service. Lastly, they completed the work within the agreed-upon timeline without compromising quality, which was our biggest fear from the start. Only 6 months! We highly recommend Homes by Josh Doyle for their outstanding work, and dedication to customer satisfaction. Five stars without a doubt! We are proud to say we own a Homes By Josh Doyle home! Very poor craftsmanship, wrong items installed, a longer list of items that were damaged and unfinished repairs and installs. The communication was very poor and unprofessional with our family, unfortunately our dream home has turned into a nightmare for us. Based off our first hand experience would not recommend this builder to anyone In response to HBJD comment, my review like others are based on facts, when you continue to leave the job unfinished, wrong items installed, charged for a product never received not to mention the installation of damaged products, it will always come back to haunt you. You need to take pride in what you do, not push us off and make broken promises and tike advantage of homeowners!

Poor craftsmanship plus poor communication plus poor treatment from project manager and company overall=unsatisfied customers here. Based on our family's experience we cannot in good conscience recommend this builder at all if you are building in Michigan.

After purchasing land I knew I had to find a builder that would build my dream house. I started to look around and stumbled upon HBJD. So I visited a few of their model homes in Ohio to actually see them in person. I just loved their designs and decided to look no further. I loved the open floor plan and the ability to customize each aspect of the house as I wanted. So in 2022 I signed the contract and by March of 2023 I was moving into my dream house. Building a house is a very stressful situation because of all the various issues that pop up, but thanks to my project manager Brandon Laufle he tackled my every problem. He was very caring and always took the time to listen to the problems that were occurring and get them solved quickly. He always gave me a timeline and had the next contractor lined up and ready to complete the work. He was easy to communicate with and if he didn’t have an answer he found one quickly. Brandon definitely was the best aspect of our build. I couldn’t have asked for a better project manager. I am truly enjoying my dream house. I wouldn’t have chosen any other company and would recommend HBJD to anyone who asks because these houses (my house) are dreams come true. HBJD can take your wildest dreams and make them a reality. Forever grateful!

I want to start by saying THANK YOU!! From the very beginning of our process we were impressed with everyone. Your team is one of the best! They truly listened to all my ideas and helped when I needed the advice on what to do. Your MVP is hands down Kayla Thomasson!! She truly is a ROCKSTAR and I am sure you know that. She went above and beyond and made sure we got into our home within 6 months. She always answered all my questions and would always follow up. She is extremely knowledgeable and has great customer service. She is truly one of the best and I can’t put into words how thankful I am that we had Kayla as our build manager. We are officially moved into our forever home and again I can’t thank you enough for building these beautiful homes especially in Huron County. We have received SO many compliments on how beautiful our home is. I’m super proud to have built our home with HBJD! Keep up the amazing work!

We recently built a home from Josh Doyle. When we first seen your homes on facebook. I know this would be our dream house. Who would of know we could have made it a reality. After going back and forth, then deciding on which model. Once we started the process. We met with Josh and decided that the Washington would be the best design for our property. We added a few of needs, and a few of wants. We then had a meeting with Brianna that assisted in the design process. Once we started the process we then walked through all steps, picking out the kitchen design, counter tops, sinks, ext. This process in the begging help lock most of our prices. When we started the build we had a field manager Brandon. May I say, if it wasn’t for brandon being on top of all issues that could have popped up. He would catch some issues before we would have noticed. As well as if there were any issues, which were all human can occur. But Brandon ensured that this was competed. He would keep us updated each week with what was to come with the process. This made the process fun, and having something to look forward to each week. We went thought the process after many updates took place with the company. We were very lucky to have a smooth process getting into our forever home. When I look at home from the outside to the inside is everything I would ever wanted. Thank you again Brandon and the HBJD team assisting us with this process.

To whom it may concern and HBJD, My wife and I recently completed our build and moved into our forever home. While we are happy with the home, it certainly did not come without bumps in the road. First, the day before our signing contract we lost our design manager. We then through the process of the build lost two construction managers and were truly concerned as to how our project would be completed with the turnover on this particular project. However, two HBJD employees helped ease our concerns and helped us to completion. First, we want to commend Brianna Hunger, who at several critical points was able to provide the support and outstanding customer service during a few critical points on our build. She was responsive and knowledgeable in helping resolve issues or getting us answers. She is outstanding. Secondly, and most importantly, we want to thank Kayla Thomasson, who became our third construction manager on this build. Kayla was a godsend and truly made the last several months of our build enjoyable. She exceeded our expectations on responsiveness by answering phone calls and emails and providing answers to all of our concerns and questions. She displayed outstanding professionalism throughout and worked extremely hard to help complete our project and meet our needs. She exemplified a calm demeanor and understanding of our frustrations and reassured us when needed. She possesses all of the skills to become extremely successful and a vital part and major asset to your company. While she was new to your organization, we feel blessed to have had her assigned to our project as she met our needs, expectations and treated us as if we were important and not just a customer. If I were to recommend to someone building a home with HBJD who they should request as their construction manager, there would be absolutely no hesitation, Kayla Thomasson! She is a hard worker and possesses the qualities employers look for in a customer service industry. She is also humble enough that when asked a question and is unsure of the answer, is willing to say that but gets the answer in a timely fashion. Hello HBJD, I want to sincerely thank you for the beautiful home we get to call ours. After looking into other local builders, we knew HBJD had the style and quality we were looking for. Building anytime in the last 2 years has been a stress for anyone, but I can honestly say any issues we came across HBJD quickly found a solution. Jake was our build manager and he was always in front of scheduling subcontractors or any supply chain issue. Jake has GREAT communication and truly cares about you and your home. Just wanted to reach out and say how happy we are with our new home. Specifically, I wanted to say how appreciative we are of both Matt Bergfeld and Troy Baden. From the beginning, Matt went the extra mile with everything he did and was incredibly knowledgeable with any questions we had for him. I remember one Friday afternoon early-on in the framing process that he spent several hours making adjustments to the master bathroom walls himself to make sure it was what we wanted. Troy was a great addition to our project and we really appreciated his weekly updates and the careful attention he gave to our home. It felt like he valued the house like it was his own. A common question we received from our friends and family throughout the build process was if we were delayed by supply/labor issues, or if we were over budget. Amazingly we had very few delays and came in under budget! I credit this to the behind-the-scenes work of Matt and the team at HBJD to keep us on track and within our budget. Thank you for building the home of our dreams and making the process as smooth as possible.

Josh, Matt, and The Whole HBJD Team, We wanted to thank you for a GREAT experience building our forever home with you! From the beginning we were very comfortable and knew that we were going to be taken care of. After our first meeting at the office the Pandemic hit and most of the communication was thru email and Zoom for the next few months. The entire team made it very easy to contact them and help answer any questions about the house. After we had almost finished the design for our house with a 2nd Floor Master Bedroom, Jake lost his father after 4 years of battling an illness that left him wheelchair-bound. This made us re-evaluate the design of our home and the team at HBJD was very helpful in ‘scratching’ our first design to start one with a First Floor Master. In a matter of a month, we were right back to where we were with our original house and we were able to keep all of the changes in a seamless transition. After some time dealing with permits, we broke ground in December and didn’t look back. Matt did an excellent job managing the job and keeping us informed through each step. He was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire job, even taking calls late at night. Jake did the Plumbing and HVAC for the house and Matt worked with him on schedules and deadlines for the other contractors. We would especially like to recognize Anna with Cutting Edge Countertops. She helped Jackie find the countertops she wanted and even excitedly emailed after we had made our selections that she may have found a different piece that we may like even better. The day finally came and the house was finished and we have finally moved in to our forever home and couldn’t be more excited to start the rest of our lives in our new HBJD Home! Jake & Jackie

When my wife and I began meeting with builders, we quickly realized how difficult our decision would be to choose the right one for us. What sold us on Homes by Josh Doyle was quality. We found that many builders were willing to sacrifice the quality of the home just to make a sale. HbJD demands high quality and energy efficiency in every home they build. We took plans we previously had designed when we met with Josh. He immediately noticed flaws and customized the plans to make them more practical while keeping the same general flow of the layout. Then, after meeting with the design team, we were able to tweak and finalize the floor plan to fulfill our wish list. Once we broke ground, minor adjustments came up to which HbJD was gracious to allow. HbJD allowed us to have my uncle do our electric and we built our own deck to help with cost. Our build manager Jake was helpful as well as very knowledgeable. He willingly dealt with our many (sometimes daily) phone calls and questions. It is obvious to us that he takes pride in his work. Here we are in our beautiful home and looking back on this process. We are relived HbJD was our final choice. We love our home and would chose Homes by Josh Doyle every time!
