Design Surfaces Tile and Stone

I had my countertop installed on March 19th, and the initial installation was completely unacceptable. The seam was poorly executed, the veining was mismatched and running in the wrong direction, and the color did not match across the surface at all—something that should never happen with a professional installation. To make matters worse, a corner was damaged during the process. The workmanship was sloppy, and the final result looked nothing like what you would expect for the price paid. For a high-cost project, the quality of work was extremely disappointing and far below standard. Communication throughout this experience was also poor. I had to deal with the inconvenience and frustration of a botched installation for weeks until they finally came back to fix it on April 8th. While the issue was eventually corrected, that does not excuse the initial lack of care and professionalism. Despite all of this, no refund or compensation was offered for the damage, time, or disruption caused. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. The final result may be acceptable now, but the process to get there—and the lack of accountability—was not.

Design Surfaces will scam you if you have problems with a product. They will not stand behind the products they sell. An obvious manufacturer defect is ignored and blamed on installation error. Shop elsewhere if you value your time and money.

Design Surfaces used to be the place to go for tile and granite on the westside of Cleveland, but not anymore. Their customer service is horrible. I have had three unacceptable experiences with them over the last three months. The attitude of the front office/sale workers is horrible. I felt as if I was bothering them and they did not offer to help in anyway. They stayed in the office or behind the desk. They do not welcome you they wait for you to go to them and they still don't acknowledge you. They stare at you waiting for you to speak. The tone and attitude is like no other that I have ever experienced. Such a shame because 10 years ago when we renovated our first home, the staff at that time was amazing.
