Wheat's Carpet One Floor & Home

I rarely write reviews. This place is a nightmare. They really just like “big jobs!” But I hope this review saves someone from a bad experience like mine. Never ever go here. I just think with percent from the payment, my time, their mistake- I should have received nicer service from this company. I honestly think this company should have “eaten” some of the cost of my items and charged my items at cost for this entire horrible experience. They have the rudest team working. No one can answer your questions. Again worst experience. They say they will order your tile- charge your card and never tell you tile wasn’t in stock or ordered. I will never go back. I wanted the manager - Jamin to correct and make good on my order however he was not even sorry. From order date to attempt pick up was 4 WEEKs. Not even a phone call to say- hey this tile isn’t available! So after my bathroom was demolish then I hear no tile. No credit for all the “damages” they caused dealing with repurchasing from a different store (I had to take day off work to find more tile, and contractor sitting waiting). Note- I purchased something that DID come in… but I think Jamin should have given the item to me at cost. As far as customer service this is is the bottom of the barrel. Picture from team member desk. Not how I envision good service. If you go here- make sure you triple check your order… and know you probably won’t talk to a manager if something happens. Also Lowes had everything for about one- fourth of the price. I understand quality of tiles might be less at Lowes- alignment, thickness, but I wouldn’t waste my time, energy, money at a place that treats people like this- even in Covid times. And yes- I agree I should have checked the tile was in but I assumed when I ordered they told me it would be at the store in one week- so I didn’t call.

Everything was great until we paid in full for our job. At that point our customer service rep, Ben, who both my husband and myself felt was knowledgeable and helpful really let us down. We never heard anything and when I called he told me he would check on my materials and call me. heard NOTHING so we stopped by the store and found him sitting talking with one of the other service reps. It was the week before Christmas so no one else was in the store. Instead of saying he was sorry for not getting back with me like he said he would he made a comment about not being in charge of shipping from the manufacturer. I work in a customer service field and did not expect anything other than for him to do what he said he would and not completely ignore me after full payment was received. Very disappointing and I asked for a refund. The manager did try to help and followed up which I appreciated.

My home was built in 1995 and had the original vinyl flooring and carpeting when I moved in two years ago. The vinyl was cracked and water damaged around the outside door and around the toilets of BOTH bathroom. It sickened me every time I would clean and see those floors. Finally, I got a zero percent interest deal on one of my credit cards and went shopping for tile for both bathrooms and the kitchen. I chose Wheat's Carpet One because when I browsed through the store, the salesman was attentive and helpful (not pushy). But, the REAL reason I am writing this review is because the three guys (Tony, Jesus, and Juan) that installed the tile WERE AWESOME. They did such a good job and their attention to detail was phenomenal. I could not be more pleased and the joy I receive looking at their craftmanship has been priceless. What a wonderful work ethic they have. THANK YOU Wheat's Carpet One for having great professionals and creating a great experience for me!!!
