We completely redid our kitchen from floor to ceiling and we really needed someone who is as good as Diane. She came to the house many, many times to check and recheck the measurements for our cabinets (they are from her suppliers and they are beautiful). She was also careful as she worked with our contractor to ensure that the appliances fit-and of course when they were eventually delivered, they did-perfectly. She helped us find beautiful granite countertops and helped us match the ceramic floor tiles. We do not know what we would have done without her. Diane Benbow was fast to give us a quote for a custom cherry cabinet, granite countertop, and two floating cherry shelves for an empty stretch of wall in our kitchen. Then she was fast to fit us into Benbow & Associates' busy fall schedule. Now that my partner and I have been living with the results a few months, I can enthusiastically attest to the fact that all the elements of this project are wonderfully crafted and look like they always were there. In other words, the cabinet, counter, and shelves, perfectly match the rest of our kitchen! Every step of the way, Diane and Sam were great to work with, kept us apprised of all developments, and, when there was a minor aesthetic issue that needed tending after installation, they were, again, fast to take care of it in an excellent way. All in all, a wonderful experience!

Sam and Diane rock!! I love my cutting boards. I have been using mine my whole life, because they last forever. I have purchased some additional ones as gifts for friends.

What a pleasure to work with this family! They were called in to renovate a showpiece of a 1920's arts and craft home on the outskirts of Downtown Asheville in Historic Grove Park! They transformed the kitchen into a masterpiece and helped with the updated marketing of this home!

It was 20 years since our kitchen was remodeled. We needed a new countertop, floor tile, walls and ceiling painted, and steps to the finished basement refinished. We could not find one company that would take care of everything we needed, so we were stuck looking for individual contractors that were competent, reasonably priced, dependable, and able to work according to our schedule. Just the thought of coordinating all those contractors was a nightmare. That’s when we found Diane Benbow of Benbow and Associates. She works with a set of contractors for in the various field of remodeling and was just the consultant we needed. She worked patiently and tirelessly with us as we vacillated over which tile to pick for the floor, which color would work best for the walls and ceiling, and which type of countertop to use. She provided a list of various stores to peruse and discussed pricing and quality of materials with us. We also had Sam Benbow build and install two cabinets for us, one of which has a beautiful butcher block on top. She provided a bid for the project which spelled out in detail the various costs involved. Once that was accepted, she coordinated and oversaw the entire process from start to finish. She scheduled the contractors expeditiously based upon the best order to complete each task from demolition to the final touchups of the project. We had a beautiful new kitchen in 24 days!

We love our cabinets. They are beautiful and function very well. We had one small problem and Sam came all the way out to our place to cheerfully fix the problem to our satisfaction. It was a real pleasure working with Sam, Diane, and April. Working with certified kitchen and bathroom planners and designers added to the quality of the job. When our contractor and architect made a mistake with one of the bathroom windows (and our contractor offered a substandard solution to the problem), April and Diane insisted on a definitive, quality solution that made a huge difference. They are truly a professional team and we highly recommend them.

The Benbow folks redid our kitchen and master bath for us this year. They were fabulous. Very conscientious about costs, quality workmanship, and finding solutions to the inevitable rehab surprises. And they were super creative. They have the full package--from design, to product knowledge/know-how, to execution. Diane, Sam, and April and their sub-contractors are the real deal. It is now five months post completion and everything is working as it should and we are happy campers!

Our designer, Ms. Kathryn Greeley, referred us to Benbow & Associates for the design and installation of all the cabinetry (kitchen, bath, laundry) in our new home in Waynesville, NC. We have been working on the design for three months with Diane and April. They exhibit a very advanced level of creativity and knowledge of all the products available in their field. They are also very enjoyable to work with. Although we are still in the middle of the project, we feel certain that the end result will fulfill all of our expectations. I cannot say enough nice things! From the design to the installation, every phase of working with them was a delight. I live in a 114-year old former boarding house that last had a 'new' kitchen in 1981. Because I am a painter and graphic designer, AND I spend a lot of time cooking, I wanted my kitchen to also be a gallery for my eccentric collections of local art, pottery, and vintage mid-century kitchen items I salvaged from my Mother's hoarded stash of basement items. April and Dianne listened, made recommendations, and received my creative outbursts with enthusiasm. They kindly pointed out the problems that would arise with some of my ideas, and came up with great alternative suggestions. Once the cabinets arrived and it was time for the installation, the base cabinet work was efficiently and correctly installed, all overseen by Sam Benbow, who is a master craftsman himself. He personally fitted the hand-crafted Formica countertops he made especially for my kitchen. Start to finish Benbow & Associates are just the dream team.

I worked with Benbow and Assoc on a large custom residence. They provided cabinetry for a variety of installations, most of which required considerable on site custom work. They were very professional and responded quickly to questions and changes.
