We had a wonderful experience working with Richardson Construction...so wonderful, we used them twice! They helped us finish an existing hunting cabin on our property and we were so pleased with the end product, we used them 18 months later to build a house next to the river. We live an hour and half away from the construction site, but there were no issues or surprises whenever we were able to get up the mountain to check on things. Communication was great and they were fabulous to work with. We highly recommend them!

Fantastic group to work with!. They "beefed up" our back deck, replaced a garage door, insulated the garage, screened a portion of our back deck, installed a new front entry door, and several other renovation projects. The men were polite, punctual, professional, and their workmanship was excellent. We highly recommend Tom Richardson and his men.

Richardson General Contractors made my dream home a reality. They were there for me every step of the way making sure I understood the process from start to finish. RGC supplied me with an accurate quote up front so there were no surprises later. Tom went out of his way to help me save money whenever possible without sacrificing quality. He made sure I had everything exactly the way I wanted it yet always gently making alternate suggestions backed by his years of experience. As much as I hate to admit it he usually ended up being right. The RGC team is incredibly friendly and I could not believe how clean the worksite remained! But even more importantly nothing could top the personal service and attention to detail the team provides and the quality in craftsmanship is superb!

Richardson General Contractors (RGC) built our home in 2013. We were living about 240 miles away and had to rely on RGC to handle any problems that arose during construction. Their professionalism was superb. As with any new construction, there were things that did not suit us. But RGC used their construction knowledge to work with us until we were satisfied. In 2014, they built us a barn; and, in 2015, they built us a lean-to for the barn. After completing the lean-to, I mentioned to Trent Richardson that we might not be seeing them again. He said we would because building something for us each year was “tradition.” So, I expect we need to find something they can build for us before 2016 is over.

We hired Tom and Ellen Richardson to build our mountain cottage because they came so highly recommended to us by other satisfied clients. We found all the excellent recommendations to be true. Tom built us a beautiful cottage of obvious high quality. He does not compromise on quality or workmanship. He does not skimp on the details. He did everything he promised from the beginning. He offered excellent suggestions as the building process progressed, and we have seen that we were right to trust his judgement. Ellen is great at communication and organization. We found that she stays on top of the project and responds quickly to questions or concerns. We are incredibly pleased with the way our house turned out. Over the years we have found ourselves often commenting that "Tom built us a really good house."

Richardson General Contractors are very professional in every detail from start to finish. Very skilled personnel who needs little or no supervision. They did everything they said they would do and more. Would recommend highly to anyone who needed remodeling or new construction.

Tom Richardson of Richardson General Contractors built our Home in Wythe County, VA. in 2014. I would hire him again with absolutely no reservations. Although we had our own land, Tom helped us locate advantageous financing. He is a devout family man and professional who does fine quality work; employs quality personnel, and takes pride in his building projects. Tom is adaptable, responsible and very competent; he is skilled and works hard to please his customers. He is very easy to work with, and truly a custom home builder who will go the extra mile to give his customer a quality product. He is very well thought of by everyone I could locate to question prior to employing him. Tom is not just professional, but is a hands on builder who is also personally caring and diligent. I generally found people like dealing with him; he commands and gives respect. Tom was flexible and reasonable throughout our building project and introduced several useful adjustments and modifications to our plans....which he helped design and modify as well.....All good ideas. Tom is generally several cuts above the competition.... He has the experience, temperament, and knowledge base to build truly fine homes, and has been doing so for a long time. Our extensive research of builders in Southwest VA led us to Richardson General Contractors with not much real competition. I saw several examples of his completed projects before settling on him as my builder. Tom Richardson has the foresight and experience to make the wisest use of larger properties and more extensive projects. I have no doubt that Tom would be more than competent with more modest projects; but my experience with him was for a larger home on a large lot. Lots of builders may be competent to build easy designs. Tom Richardson is at his best on more complicated structures, as well as helping to plan infrastructure; driveways and utilities, for our custom multi home family type development requiring vision and foresight as important to the integration of property and project, Tom is the wise investment. Tom Richardson uses good judgment and offers very competent advise. I would contend that Tom built our home structurally as if it were for himself. One might find a cheaper alternative for a General Contractor, but if the home is an important investment to you, Tom Richardson"s Company is the head and shoulders above Company you want to build for you. Tom and Ellen Richardson are professional, thoroughly competent, and generally a pleasure to work with.
