Eden LA Furniture and Interiors

We were drawn to Eden LA by the beautiful arch bar in their showroom which my wife and I, despite our drastically different tastes, equally loved. That started the relationship with Jamie, Heather, and Cassandra that led to the transformation of our plain builder-grade home into what is now a designer home inside and out. Everything from paint to tile to wallpaper to railing to lighting to cabinetry to furniture and plants was curated to meet our style and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Living through a remodel isn’t fun and it did take longer and cost more than we expected because we increased scope along the way, but it was worth it and we’re happy we had Eden LA by our side through the process.

Jamie was a delight to work with. Her ability to understand my style, mixed with a fresh perspective, gave my mountain home the ideal look. Since this is a second home (and a rental) it was important to get it furnished quickly so that I could get it on the market. She designed and had everything delivered within two weeks. This made it easy for me to manage and setup. She will always be my "go to" for interior design!

I've waited some time to write this review hoping it would soften my perspective, but our experience with Jamie was so poor, I feel a duty to write a review so others know what to look for and what questions to ask. We have provided direct feedback to Jamie as well, most of which was dismissed, but below is an abridged summary of our experience. Note as well we have now hired a designer to help us with the rest of our project and have had a wonderful experience! We hired Jamie to help with our newly purchased home in Manhattan Beach. The primary scope was help with family room, kitchen, and living room furniture, some lighting, plus help with flooring, accent pieces, and a fireplace remodel. Other than the dismissive attitude around feedback throughout our process with her, the biggest issues were quality of products and lack of pricing transparency (questionably fraudulent pricing). We purchased 3 tables made of "wood" for a total of around $12k. We assumed they were of high quality, though we didn't get to evaluate first hand and were required to pay months in advance. All were ultimately Vietnamese made without a single piece of solid wood on them (particle board with veneer). Within months, the finishes were chipping and wearing off. Prior tables we had owned for years and through multiple moves without issue. The questionably devious area we encountered was around pricing. Our contract stated should couldn't mark up sourced items more than 25%. We happened to notice one of the items she sourced for us was way off of that. Instead of being marked up 25%, it was marked up 300%. We check a few more and found about 15 items marked up way more than 25%. We asked about things like our couch, tables, etc. that would couldn't explicitly find and she wouldn't share the pricing details. She did return the money for the difference on the items we were able to find and pointed it out as a "clerical error," but it's hard to imagine getting that many things wrong on accident. These were lower cost items that added up. For my wife and I, working with Jamie is our most talked about regret. We are replacing about half of everything she sourced for us, including tearing out the remodeled fireplace that used tile that wasn't durable enough for the use case and that's after we sent many items back that didn't fit the space. She was generally helpful when we decided what she picked didn't work in the space, but she made us feel bad about it. We would have sent more back, but we were so fatigued by the process we just cut ties.

JAMIE and her team are fantastic. She designed a stylish sitting room for me a few years ago. I am now in the process of using her again for my family room. She and her team are easy to work with ,they listen to my needs, and stayed within my budget. Jamie has fantastic taste and a great eye. I highly recommend Eden LA design.

We used Jaime and her team on our first property and the as amazed how see transformed our dated beach cottage vibe into a modern beach boho vibe. It felt like we were on vacation every time we came home. We were so please that years later when we looked to move to a second property for our growing family the first person we called was Eden la to help us design a vision for our new spot.

Eden LA & Jamie are absolutely amazing! They decorated our entire (new) house in Manhattan Beach from top to bottom & we absolutely love it! The home decor and spaces she created are stunning & beautiful, very well put together, but at the same time, very comfortable, livable & reflect our entire family. Jamie's approach was refreshing and direct - she took the reins on day one and ran with it! Her approach made it seem easy to tackle decorating each room to our personalities, lifestyle and taste. With her dedication & know how, this large project always stayed on track! Jamie is super professional, knows her decorating for sure and is totally up to date on styles & what will work, but also super easy to get a hold of and partner with. It can be stressful starting from scratch & not having lived in the space yet, but we never felt that stress. From day 1, Eden LA was totally dedicated & committed to our project, helping us define & decorate each space. The communication from Eden LA was incredibly timely and we were always in the loop - no surprises! We were updated at every point in the remodel & decorate and very well-informed throughout the entire process. We couldn't be happier with our home and have never settled into a new space so quickly and so comfortably! It truly feels like we are home - a very beautiful, well-decorated, well-appointed home that you can live in, enjoy and have fun in. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how happy our entire family is!

Eden LA was amazing to work with. As a middle-aged, single man with 2 kids half-time, finding the right balance of child-friendly and adult was critical...not to mention finding a blend between our location (3 blocks from the beach), the build (new, modern construction), and my own foibles (like woods, Asian-American ethnicity, sports nut). As a type-A guy, was funky turning over the keys to Jamie and her team, but once I did, I was ecstatic with the decision. Everything turned out beautifully, fit into my budget, and everyone has been happy. She pulled this all off prior to and during the pandemic, and we executed the move into the new place on Memorial Day weekend of 2020, when everything was locked down. The Eden LA team has also been 'on call' for things that have popped up since the 'official' work was done - questions about personal choices I'm making, additions to the decor, 'whaddya think of this,' and so on. WORK WITH THEM!

Your first decision is do you want or need a designer. Since we were designing and building our house from scratch, we decided we did. And, at the end, we were very glad we did. In hindsight, the thousands of decisions big and small are made better when there is an experienced eye involved. We found that experienced eye in Jamie Roddy of EdenLA located in Manhattan Beach, CA When you hire an Interior Designer, what are your expectations? Do you want to give them some guidelines, get them to know you and then have them come up with recommendations? Or, do you want to work alongside of them in a collaborative manner? Jamie is equally good at either approach. In our case, we liked to collaborate with her in real time. My wife and I would sit with her in her studio in front of a big screen monitor. We would surf the web pulling together the furniture, materials, colors and accents that we all agreed upon. In some cases, she gently “guided” to consider things that on our own we might not have done. Now that we see those decisions in place, we’re glad we were gently pushed to expand our thinking about what we wanted. You may not have the time to spend the time like that, but we did and we loved the outcome of the process. After working with her on big items and small for almost two years, we’re still big fans and highly recommend your consideration.

I hired Jamie Roddy, owner of edenLA, to assist me with the design of a new construction, high end spec home in Manhattan Beach. Jamie proved to be extremely knowledgeable of construction processes, fashion trends, and timelines. Jamie was always on task, reachable and present on the project and proved to be a terrific problem solver. Most surprisingly, Jamie was very aware of the return on investment of our decisions and was very cost conscience which was a refreshing perspective to partmer with. I plan to work with Jamie on future projects.

Jamie was fantastic to work with. My husband and I both thought we could initially furnish our home ourselves (because we do enjoy the design process), but realized we didn't have time to do so and needed professional help to settle some of our creative differences. Jamie to the rescue! We just had the "big reveal" and love everything. Thank you for incorporating our individual style tastes (for me -elegant glam and for my husband - sophisticated modern) and making it look great in our home, which also had its own style (Spanish) that we wanted to incorporate.

Working with Jaime and Kait has been an absolute pleasure. They were very quick, thoughtful and thorough. They ensured all of the furniture and accessories were budget friendly and also family friendly. The service was impeccable and truly priceless for anyone who is moving into a new home, especially with young kids. You meet with Jaime and Kait a few times and exchange lots of emails and once you have all your items picked out, they receive everything in their warehouse, QC it and hold onto it for a reasonable amount of time until you are ready to move in. They then move all your furniture in on one day and you are all set up! it was amazing coming home to somewhere so cozy in so little time. It takes away the hassle of communicating with vendors on your own, coordinating shipping times etc. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to work with Jaime and Kait, so if you are thinking about it, go for it!! You will not regret it.

I started working with Eden La after having a horrible experience with a previous decorator. Needless to say I was nervous. Their professionalism immediately put me at ease and they created my house into the beautiful vision I always imagined. I can't thank them enough.

Working with EdenLA has been an awesome experience. Both Jamie and Kaitlyn are experts in design, budgeting, and creating a stylish and livable home. They helped us with our blank canvas brand new Hermosa Beach home and turned it into something our house that we love and feel proud of. My wife and I worked with Jamie to decorate our condo in West LA. We had worked with another designer who we ended our relationship with and I came across Jamie by luck after driving by her beautiful storefront in Brentwood. We found Jamie to be on point with the suggestions she made after learning about what we were looking to do, her rates were reasonable, as were the price of the furnishings that we purchased from her. She also custom made a couple pieces that we really liked. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I would recommend Jamie highly...in fact, since working with Jamie ~6 years ago, we have referred several friends to her who have also been happy with their experience.

We began with EdenLA because of their gorgeous showroom, but committed to them once we saw their enthusiasm and ideas. Jamie really listened to everything we said, was vocal in her opinions about what we were starting with (without being condescending), and came up with a road map. We did two projects: one was a bedroom (starting from scratch) and the other was an update of existing elements in the Living Room and Master. She did her planning and research, and then presented us with options, with different price points as well. If we didn't like something, she didn't take it personally, rather just moved on to the next idea. This made the process fun, fast, and without drama. Knowing that delivery dates are known to be sketchy at best, we were also happy that everything arrived pretty much exactly on schedule. She agreed with us about one piece that didn't work, and took it back without question (a non-custom piece). The custom pieces she designed exceeded our expectations. I couldn't recommend EdenLA more highly... especially if you kind of know what you want, but need someone to guide you. Jamie has diverse resources, a sunny disposition, and confident opinions that were perfect for us.

As an interior designer in Los Angeles, it is crucial that I align myself with other professionals that reflect the high standard that I aspire to. Jamie and Kelly at EdenLA prove to be knowledgable and skillful in executing original custom furniture designs and assisting me in placing orders for clients. I have worked with Eden LA for years and they are fantastic. They have great furniture that is stylish and of a high quality. The have pieces that work for many price points. I first worked with Eden LA when I redecorated my apartment three years ago. They worked with my budget and I was extremely happy with the results and I have gone back periodically over the years to add new pieces. One my favorite things about Eden LA is the ability to make custom furniture pieces. I have had many of their larger pieces made in a smaller sizes to fit my apartment. Now, I am decorating a new house and I am again working with Jamie Roddy at Eden LA. They have design consulting services and instead of helping my just pick out a couch, I am excited to have Jamie help me design my whole space.

I highly recommend EdenLA. Jamie is a talented and intuitive designer who's able to imagine and execute beautiful spaces in a way that's fresh and functional. We've had her upgrade / rework our living, dining, bedroom and home office with fantastic results. The showroom is a great starting point - lots to inspire - and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

I needed help right away fully designing my contemporary home by the beach. We were starting from scratch with just bare rooms and 3400 square feet of designable space. Jamie absolutely saved me with her spectacular vision, taste, responsiveness, and sensitivity to budget. She took the time to listen and understand exactly what I was looking for, then took my vision to the next level with design elements I could have never imagined. She was also able to incorporate some unique pieces from my travels, and tastefully showcase them among the new pieces, creating a personalized yet sleek ambience. I have to admit I can be high maintenance at times, needing immediate reassurance for purchase decisions, measurements, etc... Jamie was always one text away. Even driving to my house right away one time to confirm a measurement with me. She kept me in the loop, fully explained her design choices, respected my budget, and did it all with a quick wit and humor that made it all effortless. I have since recommended her to several of my friends who are all just as pleased with their experiences.

I am a local designer in Los Angeles. Eden LA is my go-to store. Not only are they professional and helpful, they are also very upbeat and fun to be around. We smile and laugh a lot as they assist me in finding exactly what I had in mind. Many of their products are sourced locally and always arrive within the projected time frame. They have made custom sofas, headboards, swivel chairs, bar cabinets, mirrors, and art work for me in a wide variety of styles and finishes. Now, here's the best part...their prices are great. Very affordable and competitive. I love these guys! Highly highly recommend.

I have worked with Jamie and EdenLA for years. She has been my go-to professional from complete room layouts and thematic space experiences as well as the source for the accent piece that bring it all together. Jamie is a pleasure to work with and approaches her vocation with passion that shows across all of her work. Recently I bought a more contemporary house in Austin and per usual, brought in Jamie to help me transpose my existing pieces, determine what fits where best, what does not work with the space and helped me to prioritize where I should focus my budget to get the best blend of wow, utility and comfort. The project is coming along greatly and everyone that has visited our household has been impressed and extremely complimentary. Jamie personally sends me emails with new finds specific to my space and ideas of how to incorporate new elements. Jamie is my secret design weapon, but I am not hesitant at all about sharing her name and my highest regard for her services with others. Last word - that smile you see on the website, that's the smile you get every time you work with Jamie - its always a great experience working with her.

I want to say how thrilled I am with my living room and the process of putting it together was fun as well as educational. Eden LA was very professional and worked through several design iterations of furniture and accessories that were custom built for my space. I would highly recommend them.

I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to personally work with Jamie Roddy and her design team at EdenLA. At first, my visit to EdenLA was only to get a few things done in the guest room, but after meeting with Jamie at the house and discussing a few other design ideas for other rooms in the house, I decided to re-do the entire house, of course with Jamie’s help. She was phenomenal… from her paying attention to every detail, to listening to what my needs were (and budget), to having a wonderful attitude with no ego. We went through each room in the house, top to bottom, even deciding the colors of paint for the walls. The house could not be more beautiful and finally complete since we moved in 6 years ago.
