Our 30 year old home needed an interior facelift. Our builder recommended Fringe Benefits, run by interior designer and contractor Mary Sue Hafey of Monument, CO. We contacted Mary Sue and within a few days she arrived to walk though our home and ask what we wanted to do. We liked her straight forward manner and wonderful ideas, many of which we had not considered but were just right for our house. Within days we were meeting to consider colors; shortly thereafter she led us through the maze of selecting countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, carpet lighting, etc. We knew she was an award-winning designer, but what really impressed us is that she had the right person to help us with our selection at each showroom and knew as much about the products as the company rep. It was a large project, as almost every surface was updated. New interior paint, carpet, countertops, lighting, hardwood floor additions and refinishing, plumbing upgrades, and a complete re-do of two shower areas with tile and glass doors. We were particularly impressed with her renovation team: exceptional workers, skilled craftsmen, and some of the most polite and lovely people we've ever met. They treated our home with the utmost respect and always cleaned up after each day's work. Mary Sue was present almost every morning to huddle with her team to to discuss that day's plan and resolve any issues that might arise. Throughout the process, Mary Sue kept us fully informed of our progress as well as any glitches encountered and proposed fixes. We had heard many horror stories about renovations, such as you see on television. You have none of that nonsense with Fringe Benefits. We were really amazed at how comfortable we felt during the renovation, and she and her team achieve wonderful results. The skills displayed during our renovation from Mary Sue and her whole team were truly remarkable and far beyond what we expected. Our home is much brighter and more modern. Mary Sue did my kitchen and living room remodel. From the very start, Mary Sue was wonderful to work with! She is professional, personable, and diligent! She got my input, made suggestions, and guided me through every choice that had to be made, pointing out pros and cons of things I would not have thought of. Her subcontractors were clean, professional, dependable, and always arrived on time. Mary Sue was very quick to respond to any details that needed to be changed/corrected, or otherwise taken care of. Her follow-up was very swift and thorough. She worked with me to make sure I was happy with each stage of the remodel. She has great relationships with many of the businesses in town--granite, lighting, furniture, appliances, etc., which made those decisions much easier. The draperies she designed and had made were very high quality and the workmanship on them excellent! I am thrilled with them! I thoroughly enjoyed working with her, and have would enthusiastically refer to her!

Mary Sue is a professional designer who has good decorating ideas. She stayed within my budget and provided oversight for all the work. She updated all of my bathrooms and dining room. I would rehire her for any interior design work.

I hired Mary Sue and Jennifer to add backsplash to my kitchen and bar areas. They selected the perfect coloring to match the counter tops. What a wonderful difference the backsplash made.

Mary Sue with Fringe Benefits and Jennifer with Hideout Ranch Interiors teamed up to remodel our two bathrooms, our master bedroom and most recently our kitchen (photos attached). Mary Sue and Jennifer were wonderful to work with. They came with great ideas but also listened to our ideas and tried to incorporate them into the projects. When little problems came up as will happen when remodeling an older home, they dealt with them calmly and always came up with workable solutions. When our home needed some decorating updates, we called Mary Sue. Having worked with her before, I remembered that she is a 'quick study', she listens, is full of ideas and projects are completed timely. This time we were working in the kitchen - new window treatments and fabric for the chairs. She was able to mesh the often competing styles of my husband and I. Their efforts to coordinate the work of their various craftsmen were always right on target and accurate. When they said a task would be completed on a given date it was. Their cost estimates were always accurate and were never padded with hidden add on fees. Of particular interest to me was that every craftsman they brought to the job was among the best we had ever encountered in each of their respective trades. They were all professionals with years of experience. Each demonstrated extreme pride in their work and took pains to ensure that even the smallest details we not overlooked. Their experience based suggestions saved us money and a great deal of stress. When the entire project was complete, the results were stunning. Jennifer and Mary Sue, along with their skilled craftsmen, came to feel like family as the project progressed. We strongly recommend them to anyone considering a remodeling project. We are so pleased to have avoided that ‘would have, could have, should have’ feeling at the completion of our project. We got it done right the first time with these folks. Mary Sue has been our designer for years, helping with different updates and additions to our home. Recently, she helped to completely redecorate our guest bath and laundry room. She brought so much life to a somewhat boring room, adding custom bold draperies with valence, coordinating rugs, towels, and decor. Mary Sue has been our decorator for our new home. Her experience and insight has been a blessing as we would have been overloaded if we tried to do this ourselves! She designed and produced all of the window coverings and our Master room bedding. In addition she helped pick out items to decorate such as rugs and pictures. I have worked with Mary Sue for some years now to complete areas of my 6,700 sf custom home. I cannot speak highly enough of her expertise and work ethic. She is responsive and timely. She has an entire library of fabric and trim books. My focus has been mainly window treatments, however, after recent water damage, she aided in paint selection as well as wood floor stain.
