I highly recommend GK Builders. Gary is well-organized, creative, responsible, and reliable, with very high-quality workmanship. He led the construction on our ADU, and exceeded our expectations. He was referred by the architects who designed the ADU. Gary communicated well with everyone involved in the project, and came up with creative ideas that complimented the work of the architects. For instance, he suggested the external blinds that we selected, and they look great and work well. He also referred us to the company we hired for our solar work and we were very happy with their work too. We really appreciate the care GK Builders took in completing our project, and the quality of the work. They were very careful to make sure our puppy was contained and stayed safe during construction. We love how our ADU turned out.

We worked with Gary to tear down and build our new home and had an exceptional experience. We couldn't be happier with our home. He was calm, professional, honest, hard working, and detailed oriented. It was our first experience with building a new home so we had many questions along the way. He patiently guided us through the process, answering our multitude of questions. He treats his team with respect and it was clear that his team respects him. Very importantly he finished our project ahead of schedule and on budget! Building a new home is a time consuming and somewhat stressful process, but I would do it again in a heartbeat with Gary as our contractor. He really is the best and we LOVE our new home.

Gary and his team at GK Builders did an excellent job as the general contractor for a custom home I hired him to build in San Mateo. We interviewed several builders and chose Gary because he is honest, organized, and truly cares about the quality of his work. His subs respect him and everyone shows up on time. He is a great communicator and responds to every phone call or text. He follows through to navigate any situation to make it right. Our project was completed according to schedule and on budget. After our project was completed, Gary is still available for questions if anything comes up. We love our home so much!

We hired GK Builders in 2018–2019 for a major home remodel. Gary and his team were wonderful. He he was responsive, easygoing, and easy to work with. The jobsite was always left clean. The workers were respectful of our home. He actually came in slightly under budget. We cannot say enough good things about GK Builders, and we have referred them to several friends who have used them, and also had good experiences. If we ever had to do another major home remodel, we would call Gary and his team.

They do what they say they will do, on time and within budget. That alone makes them a unique contractor. GK did a major remodel for us, and the results are beautiful. The craftmanship and care are outstanding. They tracked progress and cost with us regularly, so we were fully informed during the 9-10 months of the project. Some of our neighbors did similar remodels and their experiences were less satisfactory. The project was completed about six years ago and the work has held up very well.

Gary did a major remodel and addition for us, during COVID lockdown, and we thanked our lucky stars every day of our project that we hired Gary! He was honest, responsive, efficient, and organized. He kept our project running smoothly during a very stressful year and got us back in the house in the exact timeline he promised. He kept us well informed of any changes or delays (of which there were surprisingly few given the state of the world) and always came to us with solutions. Plus, he's a nice guy and we enjoyed getting to know him over the year that we worked together. We highly highly recommend Gary!
