Grabill Cabinets

Grabill has had a known set back with quality control which has led to a timeline that adds up to over 1 year lead time and still no cabinets to complete my project. Their response has been awful and regret ever ordering anything from them. The whole experience with them has been bad.

Disappointing. 1 cabinet arrived incorrectly so had to be remade. Another cabinet had no finish sealer on it so they came back with a spray can to seal it. Another cabinet front had the finish wearing off after 2 years. Didn't meet schedule delivery date. I chose them because of past reputation of good quality. It definitely is a thing of the past. Not true now. Would not recommend.

Buyer Remorse I purchased Grabill cabinets for my “dream kitchen” and am quite disappointed with the product quality. They were positioned as high quality, well rated custom cabinets. But after two years I regret that decision. My cabinets which have a raised panel are not well made. There are gaps where the interior panel connects to the side and top panels. This allows moisture to seep in and damage the doors. I also needed a pantry cabinet and asked for a quote from Grabill. I ultimately hired a custom millworker to build the pantry cabinet at one third the cost of the Grabill quote. Comparing the structural integrity of the two versions of the cabinets which have the same profile it is clear the Grabill cabinets are not well constructed. The cabinets that the custom cabinet maker made do not have this gap where the panels connect. It is the same profile but better made. Grabill marketing states: “Virtually indestructible due to attention to craftmanship and enduring finish.” “Our topcoat protects them all and keeps them looking new for decades”. Not my experience. If considering using Grabill, think twice about purchasing cabinets that have raised panels. A flush, one piece panel may be fine. I contacted Grabill about this issue and they sent a sales rep to inspect my cabinets. Their position is that the damage is due to moisture which is not covered in their warranty. This is certainly frustrating as I paid a king’s ransom for my kitchen cabinets.

Have been in the industry over 35 years. Have worked with over 70 cabinet manufacturers in that time. Grabill is the finest product I have ever designed with and provided to my customers lucky enough to have invested in such fine cabinetry for their home. No cabinet shop is perfect, its a complicated business with many variables and problems that can arise in a construction project, but I know when I install a Grabill kitchen my customer will be thrilled. And for me, that's a very satisfying outcome.
