A word of advice to anyone considering building....request recent references. Any reputable contractor should be willing to provide references. Be sure to follow up and call to speak with former clients. Also ask for a list of subcontractors which work for the contractor and reach out to them as well for references. You would not buy a car without first taking a test drive. Do not chose a builder without first taking a "test drive" through those that have already taken the ride.

Hoffman Custom Contracting is a top-notch home builder. As a local interior designer, I've worked with homeowners who are currently living in homes built by Tim Hoffman. Each home is meticulously custom designed and built with attention to the finest of details. Tim really listens to his clients' needs and helps them create a home that works for the individual family. My clients have raved about his professionalism and I can personally attest to the quality of construction and finishes. You just don't see such craftsmanship very often today.

I contacted Hoffman construction to have a consultation and a follow-up estimate for our project. Our toilet began leaking and the flush mechanism did not work. We removed the apparatus from the tank and had purchased a replacement. We noticed that the linoleum floor was buckling so we disconnected the toilet and removed it from the room. Next we removed the rubberized seal as it was disintegrating, we pulled up the linoleum, started cleaning the black mold that was present down to the floor board as well as the 2nd linoleum which we began removing. When Tim was at our home he wrote down all of the things that would need to be done to fix the bathroom. We also requested that he give us estimates for various other projects in the home to include kitchen as well as a second bathroom. We asked him for a quote and he replied that he would have to do some number crunching and would get us a quote via email. on June 9th. We have not received any quotes nor any phone calls even though we have left numerous calls with his VM in the last 10 days. It seems that his organization does not have good customer service skills If he was not interested in our business, we should have at least received a phone call.

You can always tell a Hoffman home by the exquisite woodworking and attention to detail inside. Tim is very creative and specializes in unique designs. He is also very easy to work with throughout the stressful building process. Most people have an "idea" of what they want, Tim is genius at not only making it a reality but also exceeding expectations, on time and on budget. As a real estate professional I love when I have the opportunity to sell a Hoffman home because I know that my clients will love their home and additionally they have made a sound investment, that's a win win!
