We were delighted to work with Horvath Landscapes the summer of 2024 up until early September. Matt and his team installed a Latham fibreglass pool and also installed the pavers that surround the pool and lower patio area of our house. We recently had the pleasure of working with Matthew and his skilled design and landscape team. The work they did completely transformed our front patio, steps, walkways, and garden. Matthew followed up early this spring to see if there was any warranty work required and was quick to remedy an issue that was caused by the city replacing the water shut-off valve which was located within our new patio stones. The city had to remove a small portion of the aggregate base that Matthew had laid and, needless to say, it was the only area that needed any work. We highly recommend this team for any landscaping needs!

Very pleased to write this review for Matt. We have done a lot of home contracting work throughout our 40+ years of owning a variety of homes. The work with Matt was the first where we did not have issues over timing, costs, design, materials, "surprises", excuses why something can't be done that was initially agreed upon, payment schedules, etc. The whole process with Matt was very professionally handled. We had our old asphalt driveway replaced with a new driveway that was done using "placer" stone. We also had the front door access and landscaping redone along with some landscaping in the front yard. The design process was first rate and complete. The design was an innovative solution to what we wanted to accomplish. Any changes were discussed and agreed upon. The work itself was very skilled. The budgeting process was clearly laid out and modified if requested. Materials were as advertised. Costs were in line with the industry standards based upon a variety of quotes we had from a variety of contractors. The job site was kept very reasonably clean and safe when left for a weekend or at the end of each day. Communication was excellent. i never had difficulty getting touch with Matt and if I left a message I got a response within 24 hours. The team that worked on the site were very professional, friendly, worked hard, answered all the questions I had and I had no issues. I would recommend you connect with Matt if you have a landscaping job.

The service, quality of work, design developed for our backyard, budget, and date of completion provided by Matthew and his crew were excellent. I contacted Matthew after seeing the amazing work he had done at the home of one of our neighbours, and reading very positive reviews about Horvath online. I was impressed with Matthew from the first time I contacted him. I briefly explained what I was after and he was at our home later that day to look at our front yard, and spent a good deal of time with us discussing what we would like. Soon after, he came by with a plan for the front stonework and landscaping. This was followed by three other online meetings, honing in on exactly what would be done. This entire design process was quick and simple. His quote was a very thorough line-by-line description of the work to be done and materials to be supplied. Matthew was flexible, a good listener, and obliging with items I wanted or didn’t want. His design was refreshingly different than our proposed design. This made me feel like I was getting a whole new look which better fit the style of our traditional home. I appreciated Matthew thinking ‘outside the box’ and explaining why he was making the recommendations he made. In addition to the stonework, the landscape (plantings) design was gorgeous. The plants he chose are unique (so different than what we had before), and will bring the entire front of our home to life! Very professional throughout the process of having our front yard landscaping done. We chose Horvath Design because of the professional approach to contracting landscape renovation. We indicated our potential design, set an estimated budget and an expectation of when we would like the work to be completed. The team at Horvath met these requirements with a professionally written contract, timelines, payment expectations, educated us on change order requests in case we wanted to change the design midstream or add new work. They built a ~500sqft patio and excavated a garden area. Also, relocated builder patio stones and made a small patio to support a shed. 2 years after the project was complete they came back and repaired some paver stones that had sunk in the patio. Overall, we had a good experience with Horvath.

We hired Horvath Landscapes doing our landscaping in front of our house. Matthew and his crews provided good design and quality work for us. After the first winter, they came back did the maintenance work to correct the deformation due to the freeze and thaw in the winter. We were satisfied with their work.

They did the complete back yard project including architectural planing. I had them install a patio, fire pit, replace a fence and put in plantings. What a great experience! Horvath Design was referred to us by a friend who had utilized them in 2013. We had received 3 estimates prior to meeting Matthew from Horvath Design. The 3 estimates were all over the map and the presentation of the plans and pricing ranged from a piece of cardboard to a hand written piece of paper. Matthew listened to what we thought we wanted, made recommendations, then worked with us and his designer to come up with a plan that was perfect. Matthew and his designer were extremely patient as we muddled our way through the decision-making process. The complete project was itemized with pricing and drawings so there would be nothing to argue about later. Horvath Design was NOT the least expensive estimate we received. But, we felt the level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the communication & follow-up was the deciding factor to go with this company. The Installation crew from Horvath Design was great. Hard working, a pleasure to talk to, always cleaned up at the end of each work day, and took pride in their work. We were extremely satisfied with Horvath design (from beginning to end) and would highly recommend this company. They provided us with a great-looking, high-quality project & we were very happy to deal with first-class professionals.

Matt and the Horvath team were very professional, very accommodating, and overall great guys, We had a small landscape job that evolved to a large one over the course to which Matt was quickly able to adapt and execute. Although Matt is able (and wanted) to give firm drawings, I am the type not to work on paper. I like to build towards the desired look. Matt was able to work with me on my non-paper method and execute my vision without delay. The Horvath team are honest, reliable and of their word.
