I am so glad I chose to work with Dave of Baltimore Housewrights for my kitchen renovation and hardwood floor refinishing. From the first home visit/interview he had enthusiasm, ideas, professionalism and initiative that were lacking in the other contractors I interviewed. The proposal he delivered was both more thoughtful and more attractively presented. Throughout the whole process Dave was organized, conscientious, and did quality work. He accommodated my budget AND my wishlist, as much as he could. He made me aware of any changes to the schedule or plans, including helpful reminders. Every change I can recall ended up being for the better of the whole project. He coordinated deliveries, bulk trash removal, etc, so that I never had to worry about it or make sure I was home. Dave was also very patient working with the bank on the details of my Streamline 203K renovation mortgage loan, which was new to him. I only know it was not easy because I read through an email thread - he never mentioned the hassle. Most of all, Dave is very pleasant to work with. I felt comfortable having him in my home and trusting him with my first purchase and renovation. I will definitely use him for my future renovation projects. I am adding some in-progress pics to this review, but I know that Dave is planning to add nice ones of the finished project to the Baltimore Housewrights page before long.

The fit and finish David provided for us is amazing. He brings a level of craftsmanship at a fair price that is hard to find. We had multiple jobs that he completed in a timely manner. Our home is old, and that we have a contractor that understands how to work with older construction in a manner that does not upset original features is priceless. Highly recommend using David, as we will in the future.

Dave recently completed several jobs in our home. He replaced our French doors and screen, removed the wall between our kitchen and dining room, built an island and installed hardwood floors. Dave and his wife, Ann, helped us create the design and choose the materials. We were very impressed with the high quality of his work and love all that he has done for us. In addition, Dave was always on time and kept the work site neat and orderly. It was a pleasure working with Dave and we look forward to doing other projects with him.

Dave does great work. We had him add an entryway to our home and we were so impressed we later had him do the work when we decided to add an entire addition. Another time we had him replace a window in our kitchen with a greenhouse window. I guess you could say that large or small, Dave can handle them all. Besides doing work which is always complimented by our guests, Dave also will answer all of your calls and questions and keep you informed about the work being done. He is very accommodating and easy to work with. He pays great attention to detail so whatever he does is done correctly and it looks great. All of this and at reasonable prices, too. I think peoples’ homes are their most prized possession and Dave realizes this and treats it accordingly. You can’t go wrong selecting Baltimore House Wrights to do any work on your home.

I used David Welsh of Baltimore HouseWrights when I prepared my house for sale. I needed a lot done, and my budget was very tight. David is known for quality, higher-end home improvement and renovation work, but what he really does is help people solve their problems and realize their plans in a way that's just right for them. David helped me figure out the best approach to each of the several fixes my house needed within my budget without skimping on the work or by sweeping problems under the rug. He also helped me think about what changes needed making and which did not. David helped me save money and did terrific work. I hadn't believed that my house could look as it did on the budget I had. It was a real pleasure to work with him and have him work in my house. He worked on schedule and left the areas where he worked cleaner than when he started. In fact, unlike others I had work on my home, he kept things amazingly clean and unobtrusive while he was working. A+.

HouseWrights completely renovated our kitchen from top top to bottom. This task included demolishing part of the wall between our kitchen and the dining room. Dave Wright worked with us to design the layout of the kitchen and choose all finishing materials. The work was done to a very high standard with a minimum of disruption to our daily routine. The job came in on budget and we are to say the very least, thrilled with the results.

Baltimore HouseWrights has done several projects for me, each more beautiful than the last. First, they remodeled my kitchen and made a stunning pass-through bar/counter/cabinet with glass doors and shelves and interior lighting to showcase my china collection above a wormy curly maple counter. They installed crown molding in my living/dining room that made my home seem much more stately and impactful upon entering. Finally, they did a full gut of my 1928 bathroom, installed new pipes, fixtures, floor and wall tile, as well as an installation from scratch of a powder room/laundry room on the first floor, both with floor heat. All systems still working flawlessly after 5 years. Working in a house this old calls for all kinds of special skills and ingenuity which Baltimore Housewrights definitely has. No problem is too hard for them to solve. The work was done without flaw, totally beautiful, and exceeded my expectations. Prices were very reasonable and all work was done on time and within budget. My home was never dirtied, and all furniture, walls and carpets were well protected during the work. I think it would be hard to find a better contractor!

We had a great experience with Baltimore HouseWrights and their customer service is truly unmatched. Dave is very detailed and explains everything. He will work with you to be sure you are happy with the plan/design before starting a job. He was in regular contact with us about his schedule, did what he said he was going to do, and sent us photos at work of his progress. He is honest, does quality work, and his wife is a designer which is extremely helpful. I highly recommend them.

I hired Dave to add a deck to my home. He was very patient when going through the multitude of changes that occurred, and I couldn't be happier with the end product. The quality of his work is second to none. I love my deck, and I receive a lot of compliments on it. I give him two huge thumbs up.
