We highly recommend Bona of Ironhorse Interior Design. We have worked with designers throughout the years and Bona defiantly stands above. What we appreciate most is how much she cares and listens. Originally, I had some concerns hiring a “Tahoe” designer. My husband and I like a not so mountain rustic style. Bona brought our design style to life on our lake front home and we could not be happier. Bona is talented, good willed and an absolute joy to work with.

Bona of Ironhorse Interior Design has many awards, is very enthusiastic, and has a very enjoyable personality. It is what I was drawn to originally. I wish I could say that I had a great experience with her but unfortunately for me, things did not work out although I really wanted it to. Among other things, we just seemed to have quite different design styles. She requires a $5,000 retainer and a signed contract which I did not have a problem with because I feel as a professional, they will be honest. But, be careful, because if you decide it's not working for you, you will not get a refund. My mistake is always paying my bills on time. I had just paid and had one additional meeting afterwards before I ended up leaving and I am out another $5,000 for the one meeting and incidentals. She told me she charged me for jobs she turned down. Many decorators in Reno are turning away clients. In any case, a decorator turning down a job is not under any one client's control and it is the decorator's choice and it's not another client's responsibility to cover the costs. In addition, my decorating job was considered pretty small and she often had delays to talk with construction or other clients, postponed meetings, or delayed our meetings for different reasons. I have happily found another decorator. I have never had a problem like this with someone I thought was a professional and I was disappointed in the way it turned out.

Bona is an absolute pleasure to work with! She helped me express my own personal design style on my 4,000 square foot new contemporary home in Minden. She is genuine, talented and hard working. She has a vast expertise and great attention to detial. I enjoyed every second of working with her and consider her a life long friend.

Ironhorse's principal, Bona Prehoda, jumped with both feet into the interior design work for my large custom lakefront house. Her creativity, keen eye, and artistic sensibilities played a large role in making my house the beautiful and inviting place that I wanted it to be. I highly recommend her and her firm.
