Platinum Home Theaters was formed in December, 2005, out of a realization that Home Theater had become an essential element in all fine homes, yet, the home theater business had become a dizzying maze of complex, ever-changing technology choices and misinformation. Home Theater ‘superstores’ are involved only to the point of selling the brands of equipment they carry, with no attention--no interest--in the people who will be using the equipment, the room itself, acoustic science, sight lines, let alone addressing the array of decor possibilities that are available in today’s burgeoning home theater industry. Consultants are desperately needed to navigate all the various perplexing elements in the pursuit of home theater enjoyment. We knew we could bring expertise and excellence to those busy clients who have no time to create a home theater --only precious little time to enjoy it. Platinum Home Theaters seizes the challenge of bringing the best in technology to the home owner, working within their budget for the optimum results...creating Home Theaters which become the favorite room in the house, thrilling spaces for family time, as well as grand entertaining of extended family and friends. Our Chief Designer, Jim Addie, brings over 41 years of engineering expertise to every Platinum project. His engineering specialties are: custom equipment design, acoustic design and calibration, and system integration. Since 2006, Jim has turned his attention to creating home theater environments, believing his long career and background have made him singly qualified to bring all the elements of excellence in engineering to the home market. He is still active as an engineering consultant in the broadcast industry. He remains the "Engineer in charge of Excellence". Platinum Home Theaters not only brings excellent work partners, such as electrical, HVAC and construction contractors that we have come to respect and chosen to work with us, we also have longtime association with Tomlinson Holman, (creator of THX Theater Sound Technology) as our consultant partner. Mr. Holman is renowned in the audio industry for his decades of research, and our Platinum Families benefit from this very special association.
