Interior Design Partnership

Vicki and Kendall were a dream to work with! They designed our dining room and formal living room for our new home in southern California. Every time I walk into this space my jaw drops. The overall design, attention to detail, and feeling of peace this room brings to our home are the biggest reasons I’d recommend IDP. Not to me to mention, Vicki and Kendall are so fun to work with. We started this process during Covid yet they were able to coordinate all deliveries and an install day using a receiving team here in LA. What a breeze! We’re so glad we chose IDP for this project and hope to use them again soon.

IDP review In the October 2017 we finally decided to refresh, rather than sell, our family home in Illinois. We had invested our $ to update our retirement retreats but each time we returned “HOME” we sighed because our house felt and looked “tired”. We knew that IDP would be our choice for the refresh having seen the magic they created in the homes of our friends. We wanted that same feel in our home but were overwhelmed by the scope and also did not want to spend the short time that we resided here to be “under construction.” Before we met with IDP’s mother /daughter team Vicki and Kendall, we made a list of our goals and priorities . Our challenge was three fold: retaining special furniture pieces we loved, limiting choices of fabrics and furniture from which to select due time constraints and feeling of being overwhelmed, and timing the project to keep disruption in our lives to a minimum. All of these goals were met by IDP. As we walked through the house in late November, with Kendall and Vicki, it was evident that this project was growing with every room we visited. We agreed that 9 rooms needed a make-over (flooring, window treatments, reupholstery, lighting, rugs, paint, new furniture, etc). First impressions were shared and my husband and I agreed that in order to do this project right we needed to INVEST in IDP and their talent. The budget we suggested allowed for IDP to created the outcome we hope for. Vicki and Kendall presented us with a binder of specific ideas and costs after a second meeting in their studio. Contractor costs were included in this quote. Turnaround time was amazing. We were leaving Jan 4th for the “season” and would return in early May. We had a signed contract and and orders were being placed by mid December. Trust was a great deal of the project: trust in IDP decorating choices, trust for them to manage our home, with workmen, while we were absent for four months, and trust that the project would be finished when we arrived home. Communication and transparency for costs for additions or substitutions were forthcoming and clear. Working with the subcontractors (who were amazing), managed by IDP, were seamless. The IDP followed up with each inquiry efficiently until we were satisfied. Best part was, and continues to be, the working relationship we share with IDP. We were constantly amazed at the time they spent (almost daily) at our home during the project ; overseeing the details of the contractor, post construction housekeeping, and of course “fluffing” and accessorizing for the BIG REVEAL in May. We especially loved that our special possessions were displayed in our refreshed spaces, connecting the old with with new. We think IDP loved seeing our reaction to the finished rooms as much as they were proud of the outcome of the project. Our home is our pride and joy. We love coming home and love BEING home! We bought our house in May, 2018 and moved from out of state in September. IDP was recommended by both my daughter and her mother-in-law who had used their services. Vicki and Kendall are a very full service decorating team. They helped us choose drapery material for our entire home, and had the drapes made and hung by an excellent company. They helped us with all our furnishing needs, including furniture for our family room, master bedroom and lower living area. They also provided an excellent painting company to paint the entire interior of our home, and helped us choose carpeting for two rooms. They even supervised the painting and carpet laying before we moved to the area! Vicki and Kendall were always on time, extremely personal and could not have been more helpful during our move. They provided us with names of many of the local resources we now use. Our home is beautiful and our move was so much easier because we were working with IDP.

I have been working with Vicky and Kendall for several years. The spaces they design are always incredible. I find myself in awe at how they take their clients visions and turn them into reality so perfectly. It is a pleasure to install window coverings at the end of their projects so I get to see the end result. Vicky and Kendall are two of the most professional but personable, kind hearted designers I have the pleasure of working with. Thank you for trusting me with your window covering needs.

My husband and I hired Kendall and Vicki to help us refresh our living room space. They were very professional and listened to our desires and ultimately presented with an idea we loved that required very little tweaking. They looked at the other spaces in our house and were able to understand our style perfectly. We were amazed with the outcome and are in love with the space they created for us. We will enjoy this for many years to come!

Design Partnership has worked with me over the last few years to refresh and revitalize my home. From a kitchen renovation to the living room, four bedrooms, family room, reading room-- they took it from ideation to completion on time and on budget. Facing a home interior project can be exciting and daunting all at the same time. With the help of Interior Design Partnership (IDP) though, my husband and I have never felt overwhelmed by the task at hand. From large-scale projects such as kitchen, bath and office remodeling to smaller decorating projects – IDP is a master at streamlining the various details to keep projects manageable. The IDP team is collaborative with the various stakeholders, always prepared for meetings and helpful when vetting details during the construction phase to the finish line. They will source all your needs whether you require a general contractor, painter or upholstery service…they always know who to call if you don’t. Design goals are understood with a keen sense that every client is unique. We are a couple who prefers a more limited role in the selection process. We typically have a meeting about the vision and let IDP develop the plan. They are quick to gauge likes and dislikes, budget and timelines. As a result, we have found that design plans with IDP move efficiently from idea to implementation. IDP is also innovative – a master at repurposing, when appropriate. Often times, designers can be rooted in launching with new furniture and appointments. I find IDP to be flexible, open to working with a variety of price points and willing to guide on budget allocation. The design plan also includes an itemized budget so we are completely aware of the potential total expense and can plan accordingly. My husband and I have enlisted IDP on each and every home project, as we are very aware that we need support when it comes to such endeavors. Whether small or large scale needs, if seeking a consummate professional in interior design we highly recommend IDP.

I am an interior designer working for a high end home furnishings store and have worked with Vicki Murphy @ Interior Design Partnership for over 10 years. We have a great working relationship b/c she is fun, organized and so thorough in what she does - not to mention that she is very talented with her interior design ideas!
