This client was not actually our direct client. We were contracted by “the supplier” to install windows. The order was placed during covid during a time where plastics were not readily accessible as the plant in north America who supplies raw materials was rebuilding after a devastating fire. Their windows were delayed far enough into the winter that scheduling an install would be a challenge what with all the rain we have on the west coast. We had to reschedule a couple times, and each time was met with unsavoury attitude, comments about recorded phone calls and threats of firing and wanting refunds.. this was after the first rescheduling attempt. When we had the perfect window for an installation timeline, we confirmed, reconfirmed and again the day of reconfirmed again. When we arrived, the client failed to tell us that a utilities company was installing a new service on the whole road, and happened to be digging up the clients driveway. Obviously, we weren’t going to be able to access their home with our 16 foot truck and 16foot trailer. We had to again reschedule. The client was not happy again, and fired us and asked for a refund from the supplier.

I would like to point out, that no person, employee or supplier need be subjected to the type of anger and threats this client presented. It is a lesson to us that we will not tolerate any client behavior like this in the future. I will take my one star as a badge of education.
