There seriously needs to be more than 5 stars. I feel way too limited! Josh and his partner Chase Farner could not have done a better job remodeling our home in Bergheim. They took our ideas and made them a beautiful reality. In most cases, better than what I had hoped. There is no job they cannot do, and every aspect is done with integrity and precision. I’ve had lots of workers on lots of projects in my life. None come close to comparing with the quality and attention to detail that Josh and Chase brought every day. They continually reminded me that my being happy was their goal. They advised me on things that I might want to consider doing differently, but always promised that my satisfaction was the highest priority. They have become friends that feel like family and I am so blessed to have had their hands on my home!! I hope this job is never complete . They are simply the best.

Josh works alongside you in creating your dream, and he has the experience to guide you when you get off track. Also, he is a good guy, with a great family, and sincerely wants to help solve your problems and build your dreams.

Over the last decade Josh has built several homes for me as well as a couple of remodels. Every time he has exceeded my expectations and delivered an amazing product. I recommend Josh to anything that asks.

Josh built our retirement home in Bandera and we couldn't be happier. Throughout the build, Josh was very attentive to cost management and stewarded the money as if he were building his own home. He continued to monitor prices, price-shopped and passed the savings on to us whenever possible. He made suggestions for cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or the overall look of the house. Josh has very high expectations of his subcontractors and we saw this in the quality of their work. While there were a few that required additional oversight, corrective actions were promptly addressed and managed. Where subs are concerned, he looks at the work through homeowner eyes with great attention to detail. He wants to make sure that all is as it should be - whether the homeowner notices an issue or not. He takes great pride in his work and is not afraid of getting his hands dirty to help out where needed. A true test of the quality of a builder is how he handles issues that may develop after the work is done. Josh approaches these situations in a calm and professional manner and works with all parties to ensure a positive resolution. A new home build is a long term commitment and can be very stressful so having a good working relationship with open and honest communication with your builder is crucial. That is exactly what we had with Josh. We made a few design changes during the build and Josh worked very closely with us to make our desires happen with minimal cost impact. He has an excellent eye for detail and has the ability to visualize the finished product and, just as importantly, effectively communicate that to the homeowner. He comes up with creative ideas which maximized and enhanced the look of the space in our home. He was always responsive, helped us work through options and decisions that were not always easy to make, with great patience. Working with him personally helped relieve much of the stress of a project like this. At the end of the project, if you can call your builder a friend, you are very fortunate. Josh and his family have become our friends for life. We would highly recommend J Marhofer Construction for a remodel or new home construction project.

J Marhofer did tile work and closed off a huge space to make an extra bedroom in our previous house. He was very particular about how it all looked and suggested options that were the most affordable. When we moved, because of the trust and quality, we called him again. He did work for us on the new house. His creative suggestions are my favorite parts of our home. He is definitely talented, honest, and extremely knowledgable. We will always call him for remodels and refer him to others.

Josh and his team do it right. Our house is custom and perfect. There isn't another house in the world like it. In building, there are always challenges. What impressed me most is that Josh is creative and true value engineer. There were many times we scratched our head on an issue, and Josh's idea was more affordable, better looking, cooler, and added more character and value to our home. He has an eye and a preference for quality, design, and function. There were many times I had an idea that would look cool, and found a better way to do it, that functioned better. He really sees how people will use a home and knows exactly what people need and want. Honestly, I can't imagine doing another house with anyone else. If we ever build another house, Josh is the only person I'd hire. He stayed on top of the subs, and when they didn't live up to his standard, he would personally come out and make sure it was done right, and not at my expense. He really cares about his work, his name, his end product, and more importantly, the customer.

Josh joined us in our vision to restore our 100 yr old home and bring life back to it. Reconstruction is more intense than building from the ground up and you never know what you will uncover....This was also true with ours, yet Josh maintained the date of completion and we were amazed. Josh kept us within our budget w/o comprising on quality and his creativity saved us money more than once. We have recommended Josh more than once and will continue to do so.

Josh was amazing to work with. Honest and so much integrity in his work. He is creative and caring. We love our home and love our choice of builder.

Remodeling can be so stressful but not with this AMAZING company! Josh is the most honest contractor I have ever worked with and I cannot say enough about his attention to detail! He completely transformed my back porch to an outdoor living space making it feel like an extension to our living room. He also took an ordinary bedroom and made it into a perfect nursery for my baby girl! Will use this company for EVERY project!

Marhofer custom built our home nine years ago. We had a vision for a custom home to be used for our residence and business. They executed with excellence and character that you can trust. We still love our home in the hill counters and our kids will never allow us to leave. You’ll never regret them.

A builder with integrity as well as creativity! Our home is featured among his photos (modern vintage farm house), and we are grateful to have had Josh build it. As we finish our second building on our property that Josh did for us, I can say that we are still friends. He enjoys his job, and that translates into his work.
