My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

I specialize in the modern and chic renovation and revitalization of commercial and residential buildings. Digging in deep, problem solving, looking for the good bones to keep... and then creating a functional updated amazing space gives me great pleasure. The generous use of nature, texture, and pops of color and lighting inspire me from beginning to end. I love cherry picking the old and antiquated to blend with new and trend setting pieces to organically combine and reflect a space that feels like it was always there. On top of being an Architectural and Interior designer for over 20 years, I am a furnishings retailer and just opening my 9th store, this one in Austin, Texas. Because it is AUSTIN and we love being on the forefront of everything good… I am creating a new introduction to the world of retail home furnishings. We are offering a full bar specializing in craft cocktail, specialty wines and unique whiskeys. The theme is boujee old school black and white fun.

6 months ago, Julie and Brittany revealed the hidden beauty of Augusta Meadows Apartments in Tomball, Texas. Their genius design transcends vocabulary and words cannot fully express the feeling they've captured and communicated in their art. In all this time, we have NEVER heard a negative or even moderate comment about their work. In fact, most return visitors comment with newfound admiration saying, "it always looks better and better," having discovered a different detail Julie and Brit managed to perfect. Julie Smith Designs and Retail is exceptional and made possible by Julie and Brittany. We cannot thank you enough for your vision and heart. My husband and I always thought we had an eye for decorating our home and were happy (enough) with how it looked. Then we met Britt. She came into our home and looked over what we had- rearranged things in a way we had never thought of and made such a difference! We were so impressed with her ability to come in- look things over - use our current decor and make such a drastic- positive change! She then made a handful of recommendation for furniture, lighting and window treatments and when those arrived we really saw the house come to life. It was so exciting to see a space we already liked become a space we LOVE! Aside from her being a lovely person all together- her ability to change a space you like into a space you never want to leave is amazing!
