KD Interior Design

I originally had an idea of how I pictured the interior of my home to be repainted, but at the last minute, was lucky enough to find Kathy Dara of KD Interior Design. Within moments, she suggested colors that I would have never picked. She explained how in each room, with the lighting and certain focal points that the colors would give a wow factor. We went with them and our house is outstanding! Although it is now 16 years' old, it feels new. We can't get over the difference. Kathy was great to work with and will definitely consult with her on any new projects. We (as my husband is wowed as well) highly recommend her.

We hired Kathy to help us with our new house (new construction). She helped us with paint colors, window treatments, and furniture and art placement. Kathy was able to pick up on our style and preferences immediately. She was easy to work with and always professional. No drama here! I gave Kathy my highest recommendation!

Ms. Dara is a true professional. Prompt and organized and she truly knows her business and how to deliver. She listened carefully to my want list and then proceeded to act on it! Her quotes are detailed and precise and she is careful to communicate well. I am so pleased with our new drapes and bench. I would highly recommend her.

Kathy was a joy to work with. She has an excellent sense of color and design. Her pricing was clear and reasonable, no surprises. She was very patient with me during periods of indecision and "mini meltdowns" . In the end I got my "Dream Kitchen" and I couldn't be happier!

Remodeled my kitchen over the summer: took part of the kitchen I had to creat a mudroom with access to outside, removed the kitchen island and added cabinet on an empty wall, opened up a wall to family room replaced cabinets doors, added countertop granite and retailed backsplash. The result: the kitchen has perfect functionality AND perfectly integrated with the rest of the house thanks to Kathy. I work full time and she managed the contractor for me, selected the materials within my budget, answered every single question I had and most of all, stopped by my house countless times to ensure the work was done to my specifications and according to plan. My neighbors were amazed at how big the kitchen still was even after reducing it for the mudroom and have admired her new wall color choices. In addition, she recommended a fantastic color for my bathroom. As if I needed to add anything else, she is incredibly responsive and truthfull. I am so happy with her work that I have asked her to take charge of finishing my basement

We had a unique project of creating shelves and décor that the cats could also use as cat furniture. Kathy made it all come true. She designed the shelves and display cubes and also found the right kind of fabric to put on top of the cubes that the cats could use for traction but that would also blend into the cube. Once she found a carpenter to take on the project it moved pretty quickly. We get compliments all the time on the décor and the cats have furniture they can play on safely. The humans and cats give Kathy 5 stars.

Kathy designed and helped us find contractors to remodel our kitchen. It looks more fantastic than I could have imagined. I absolutely love how it turned out. We were able to really maximize a small space and I went from a rather large kitchen to a smaller one but I actually love my smaller kitchen better now because a) I have a gas stove which is easier to cook on, b) I have granite and a beautiful backsplash that is very upscale looking and c) I have a HUGE amount of counter space for such a small kitchen and I can do baking projects and other things on it very easily. Also with the drawers and lazy susan corner cabinets I find that most of my stuff fits fine and even though I had to get rid of some stuff, it fits everything I need. Overall I am very very satisfied with how hard Kathy worked on my floorplan and for a reasonable price. She dealt with some issues with the contractors like a complete pro. Any time you're remodeling there are always going to be issues that crop up, but the importance is how they get solved and I am so happy I had Kathy on my side, and I plan to use her again in the future.
