Lancaster County Custom Builder for Equestrian Facilities

King Construction Company, LLC has been custom building all types of agricultural and accessory buildings since 1978. We specialize in equestrian facilities consisting of stall barns, bank barns, covered riding arenas, and many other buildings associated with the equestrian market. We also build custom party/hobby barns, garages and residential barn homes. Along with being the custom builder for projects, we also offer a custom design service for projects outside of our building area. Today King Construction's organization has grown to include more than 100 people. In addition to our construction teams, we have an in-house staff to manage engineering, drafting, project scheduling, materials purchasing and all of the administrative functions that go along with a complex and active business. We utilize the talent and skills of our own highly-experienced and well-trained crews, mostly recruited from the Amish/Mennonite communities surrounding our office and shop facilities in New Holland, Pennsylvania. Over the years, we've grown a team of 10 crews, so we're well-prepared to manage multiple projects of any size. One of our strengths is the longevity of service within our entire construction team. Our construction supervisors have an average tenure of nearly 20 years, our crew foremen average more than 10 years, and most of our crew members have 5 years of experience. This continuity and longevity is almost unheard of in the construction industry, and it's a primary reason why our buildings are known for their fine detail and superior craftsmanship. To maintain our all-important quality control, we provide all the framing and finish materials for each of our projects. We also build all of our components: custom doors, stalls, grilles, aisle doors, sliding doors, cupolas and an assortment of fittings for the barn interiors. In addition to carpentry, we have our own mason to complete the stone and stucco work that is often an integral part of our designs. Feel free to reach out to us, we would love to hear from you!

When we were ready to restore the 1885 bank barn on our property and add a new timber frame workshop, we reached out to several contractors who advertised as specializing in this area of work. Dean at King Construction was the most responsive and detail oriented during the bid phase. We found their price to be fair and agreed upon scope. When the crew showed up, they worked consistent 10 hour days and worked very hard. They were easy to work with and the crew leader, Gerald and Project Manager, Glen were very accommodating to our ideas while offering suggestions on the best ways to accomplish our goals. They were able to transform our old barn into a very usable structure that looks great. After completing the barn, King built us a new timber frame workshop. We are very pleased with the carpentry and the exterior workmanship. We also hired them for smaller jobs such as pouring retaining walls and removing an old corn crib while saving the old barn wood. I would not hesitate to recommend King Construction for any farm construction projects. This was without a doubt the most enjoyable construction project we've done thanks to King Construction.

John, Merv, Jensen and the whole King Construction team were fantastic throughout the entire build process! They listened to our ideas, helped us find solutions within our budget, and put to paper what would ultimately be our dream barn. They made the build process much easier and were always communicative, so we knew what to expect. The project went very smoothly from start to finish. We were able to make changes as needed and had no hidden fees or surprises. They were always very responsive, honest and extremely hard working, professional, organized and only used the best quality products. We are amazed at the functionality, beautiful design and high-level craftsmanship throughout our barn and apartment. We are currently working on additional projects and will have a true showplace for years to come! I would highly recommend them to anyone! They are amazing!

We were thoroughly impressed with the quality, timeliness, communication, and construction of our new building by King. The indoor arena with attached viewing room and garage is very attractive and far exceeds our expectations for the level of quality, design, and detail. Anyone who has seen it has also been “wowed” as most people do not expect a building like this to actually be so attractive and well constructed inside and out. Additional, owing to the construction quality, the building is not noisy, even in the high winds we can experience, as some indoors can be. All of the people at King Construction were easy to work with and provided excellent guidance throughout the process. We could rely on their depth of knowledge and experience when helping us with the design and various decisions, which was especially appreciated as we had never taken on a large construction project like this before. The onsite crew were extremely hard working, neat, and polite. We remain thoroughly delighted and impressed with the outcome and highly recommend them.

King Construction built us a Pennsylvania Bank Barn and we love it! We shopped other builders but King was the easiest to work with from the start. We wanted our barn to have old century style with yellow pine flooring and solid fir wood trusses while utilizing modern building materials like Hardie Siding and Anderson windows for long life and easy maintenance, and King built it for us. Our project started with an inquiry phone call. Soon John and Jensen King visited us and our property, they listened to our vision of the barn we wanted to build. John hand sketched the barn and amenities we described on site. A short time later Jensen provided detailed drawings and a quotation for the project. We came to an agreement and the project was scheduled. Merv King a great job of managing our project and keeping us on schedule and in budget. Any changes along the way were priced fair and kept the project moving. The craftmanship in our barn is second to none, and performed by work crews that were always courteous and professional. Our barn receives many positive comments and accolades from neighbors and visitors. We are very pleased with our barn and our experience working with King Construction.

I knew of King's reputation going into my project. I had the basic structure designed but John and his team went to work to draw up the plans and added a lot of features that truly set the barn apart. Things like doors and garage doors made from red cedar among other things. As a businessman I know what it takes to manage a project. Day in and day out I was always amazed at how well the project was managed. Things would arrive right on time as the barn came to life. Abner and his colleague always gave me an honest days work. Not only were they efficient but all the little things were done and done well. There isn't anything I would want to do differently. Myron

This is the second job that I had King Construction do on my farm. They built an indoor arena in 2011 and a barn addition in 2014. I highly recommend them. The quality of their work is outstanding and they are a pleasure to work with. They are attentive the entire way and I am very happy with the results of both projects.

King built our beautiful new barn, perfectly executing the gorgeous design by Gardner/Fox Associates. The project required careful demolition of our old barn, preserving the existing tack room, and building a new 5 stall barn on the existing foundation. The crew was skilled, pleasant, and fast. The staging and management of materials was impressive. They used a Pettibone lift in ingenious ways. The whole project wa completed in 81 days and we could not be happier. Super high quality people and product.
