After seeing my cousins beautiful Craftsman house build, we were confident with using Matt and John at Kingsgate Construction, to update our whole inside of our builder basic home in the Orchard in Burlington. Our go to was Mike on site, the most amazing, hardworking, honest and reliable contractor, who facilitated along with Matt, the best trades in the industry, who were clean, efficient and met all timelines! My husband and I had been searching for a house for over 2 years when we came across one that we wanted to transform into something different. I was very opposed to huge renovations but had started following Kingsgate's work on Instagram and was impressed with the detail and quality workmanship that was evident in their projects. We were thrilled to start working with Matt and John to reimagine our side split home into something more suitable to our style and growing family. Matt was extremely patient and helpful with design options, advice, and redesigning our en-suite configuration about 6 times for me. He was personable and always made us feel like he had time for us and really cared about our home like it was his own. He addressed any and all concerns along the way and was transparent with budget breakdown, invoices and realistic timelines. Our renovation included a second storey addition, front entry redesign, kitchen and main room redesign as well as redoing all the major finishes. The exterior was redone and the house flawlessly looks like it was always built this way. It suits the style of the neighbourhood and is no longer the smallest house on the street. We would not hesitate to recommend Kingsgate to others, especially if someone is looking to build something truly custom and unique. We have lived in our home for a year now and continue to receive many compliments from people passing by (if only they saw the finishing touches on the inside!). Matt has still been available to us over the last year for any questions or outstanding items and we continue to be excited to see Kingsgate projects pop up on Instagram. They were engaging and quickly aligned with us with what we wanted. They understood our ask and quickly showed us how it was in deed possible. They worked with us to finalize our plans and made recommendations that improved our original concept. We're really happy with the work that Matt and his team did for us this year. From the moment I met John and Matt, I knew our home was in good hands. Kingsgate helped transform our small century home into a home that we can grow into - by doubling the size of our house with a second story addition and adding more square footage to our main floor. Matt was incredibly great to work with - he was transparent, honest, helpful, reliable, and flexible to our wants and needs. Renovations are often a stressful, but I found the entire process to be easeful as Matt was very responsive in his communication, advocated for the things that we wanted, and kept the project on time and on budget. We are extremely happy with our experience with Kingsgate, and would strongly recommend them for anyone looking to take on a large construction project. We had them rebuild a 200 year old farm house and add a large addition, and the work at all stages was excellent. Everything was done to very high standards, both structurally and finishing. Equally important, they were nice guys who met the schedules they promised, and who delivered good value for the high quality of product. The most important thing when making a big construction decision is to trust your contractor. You can trust these guys.

John, Matt and their entire crew were very professional and respectful and it was our pleasure having them work on our renovation for us. We are all very, very happy with the new space they created for us. Their cost-plus approach was very transparent and I appreciated receiving detailed invoices on a regular basis. We found the quality of the workmanship to be excellent! Their crew takes a lot of pride in their work and they were very approachable and happy to answer any questions I had along the way. The project took quite a bit longer than originally expected (8 months vs. 4 months), but this was in large part due to us putting the project on hold while John investigated a better solution to our original HVAC plans. We greatly appreciated John's integrity in bringing up the flaws in our original HVAC plans (which were done for us by a different company) and all of his efforts to find a more practical solution for us. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kingsgate Construction or to use them again in the future.

From start to finish, the Kingsgate team were in tune with every detail. Our goal was to renovate our home and add a second storey that appeared as a new build. Mission Accomplished! During the trim carpentry stage, we watched them transform the home with detailed exterior and interior trim work, custom cabinetry, seating and fireplace. The team were so personable and professional and always open to our ideas. We had an aggressive schedule of 5 months to complete the project. John and Matt delivered on their promise to meet our schedule and did so exactly on time and within our budget. We used Kingsgate to renovate our kitchen and main bathroom, and replace the majority of windows and doors in our house. From the beginning we felt good about working with Matt and John. I was pregnant when we decided to undertake this project but Matt assured us the project would be done before the babies arrived. They did not disappoint - finished on time and on budget. They even helped connect us with other contractors to fix a few other things around our house that we just hadn’t gotten around to. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and would absolutely use them again in the future.

The team (Mike, Connor, and Nick) arrived on time, were very professional, clean and took the time to stop what they were doing to answer any questions that we had.
