In the height of the California drought, I decided to dispense with the grass in my backyard and replace it with a perennial landscape. I turned to Kirkwood Hale of Garden Authority to come up with a plan. He listened to what I wanted and drew up several conceptual sketches with updated feedback from me. In the end I had a fully customized plan in B/W and color renderings as well as a detailed plant list. Because my son and I provided all the labor, the plan was made for the non-professional, yet the results have been stunning. I couldn't be happier and four years hence my backyard is a true paradise.

Kirkwood from Garden Authority gave us a landscape plan for our front yard. He helped us do the part we could do on our own, which we appreciated. He outlined, recommended plants, bought the trees and scrubs for a good price. 8 years later, we still thank Kirkwood for our beautiful front yard.

Kirkwood was fantastic to deal with in sharing our long-term plans for our wine garden. He listens well and is great with asking clarifying questions and proposing ideas to make our vision even better! Then, in his design work, he went over and above and delivered very compelling plans that can be developed in phases - making it even more affordable to us. I could not imagine being happier with a landscape architect!
