Lazzell Design Works Remodeling

I paid to have 2 well known companies in Nashville redesign my kitchen. I never could get on-board with the designs they gave me. I have a huge floor to ceiling picture window that complicates the design. I contacted John and he came up with a design for the entire space that I love. I was on a budget and he knew which elements were needed to make it pop, and how to get the biggest bang for the buck. I have a true luxury kitchen that is totally organized. John designed a banquette to address that odd space. John and Ben do the work and they are perfectionist. I had also been warned against taking down the wall between the kitchen and the den, as pipes were in that wall, and it might be load bearing-which it wasn't. John and Ben took down the wall, moved the pipes, and now we have a great view from the kitchen to the den. We can actually talk to guests while we prepare the food. And he really knows how to light up a room. I have great lighting everywhere. Our initial concern was a door that was not working correctly. John visited the house and discovered a larger issue from water damage to the framing. John was able to assess the damage and provide an estimate to fix the damage and address the issue from the original builder. The work was done professionally and quickly (over a holiday weekend no less!). My wife is happy that the door is now working and I am relieved that the damaged framing is fixed and that the issue will not happen again in the future. Thank you John!

John and his son Ben are a great team. Very thorough, detail oriented, and they are easy to work with. They pride themselves on their work and they also really respect the home they are working in. I was amazed at how clean my house was after each day they worked on our powder room! Can't wait to use them again for our next project!

John and Ben did an amazingly spectacular job on my mudroom/laundry room remodel, and we couldn't be happier!!! I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, but John's design ideas took my project to the next level. He made awesome recommendations about where to purchase materials of great quality for a very reasonable price, which was much appreciated. John and Ben's work is meticulous, perfection even; you couldn't find a single flaw if you looked! John helped us stay within our budget without sacrificing the overall purpose of the remodel. He listened to our needs so that he could understand exactly what we wanted to accomplish with our project. I recommend John and Ben all the time, and will continue to do so!! You won't find a harder working pair, and you won't be disappointed!

John and Ben remodeled our bathroom, and they did a fantastic job. We wanted a seamless shower (without a curb or barrier) which creates a sleek minimalist look that makes the bathroom look larger. Everything, from the tiled shower drain to the custom shower door (needed to maintain the arch we wanted to preserve), is meticulously designed and perfectly installed. We couldn't be happier with the results. Needless to say, we highly recommend them.

John and Ben did a wonderful job on our kitchen remodel. This is the second kitchen they have done for us and both were beautiful. John came up with a great design and it ended up looking exactly how I imagined. They created barriers around the kitchen, using plastic and a temporary wall with a door to keep our small children and the pets out. I was really impressed how well it worked and how easy it was to stay in the rest of the house during the renovation. We plan on continuing to use John and Ben in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for a remodel.

John and Ben did a fantastic job for us. We live in an old house that provides unique challenges, but John worked through those challenges easily. They stayed within budget, within the timeframe, and they were an absolute pleasure to have in our home. Their attention to detail was amazing, and we are thrilled with the finished product of each of our projects! They completed a children's bathroom remodel, replaced shutters, worked on some electrical and plumbing issues and more. I cannot say enough nice things about their work ethic, attention to detail, friendliness, patience, and commitment. Looking forward to having them back in the future!

We can't say enough good things about John! He came highly recommended by a friend (where he did numerous projects throughout their house) & we now highly recommend him to others. John's first project for us was a total remodel of our kitchen. He also renovated our downstairs bathroom which stemmed from a plumbing issue that he also resolved. In addition, John has assisted with exterior work that included a new roof, siding & sunroom windows/door. His work is exceptional & the results stunning. On several occasions we've called on John for help. The most recent being a plumbing "issue" where a company proposed unnecessary repair work that would have cost us thousands. John saved the day with his sound advice & helped us resolve a simple plumbing problem. We just recently moved to a new house & look forward to working with him on future projects.

John and Ben are wonderful. We have had multiple small jobs and one large job that were skillfully and beautifully completed in a timely manner. My husband and are are completely happy with their work. John is patient and caring and pays attention to the details! Projects have been reasonably priced. I have always felt that each of my projects have been their total priority and they are never done until they have answered all of my concerns. They are the BEST!

John and Ben have done numerous projects for us in the past few months, including replacing a stair case, tearing down walls and repairing dry wall. They were extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. Additionally, we were on a very compressed time frame and they were able to work within our time constraints, staying late to get the projects done. We are already considering them for future contracts.

John first did work for me 26 years ago when he updated our kitchen, which has held up beautifully! He recently remodeled our family room, which included building a stone fireplace and installing bookshelves. He does beautiful and meticulous work. John has a great design sense and is a perfectionist. He is a person of high integrity.

John and Ben gutted and redid our master bathroom. Their work was the highest quality and we are extremely pleased with the result. John has great design ideas and was able to solve numerous problems with ease that became apparent after the walls were opened up. They are neat, considerate and wonderful to work with. We plan on hiring them for projects in the future.
