Lenny of Colony Home Improvement is the best General Contractor we have ever used. He has done large remodeling projects on two of our homes. In our first home we used Lenny to add an extension, then completely gut and remodel our kitchen and living room, as well as turn our three season front porch into a four season sun room. When we moved we hired Lenny, again, to remodel our kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and open up our stairwell. There was hardly a floor or wall we didn't change. Lenny is experienced and extremely knowledgeable; he is trustworthy, meets deadlines and stays on budget. He is committed to providing the best value. Above all, he is most considerate of the stress that a large remodel can cause and has a wonderfully kind and relaxing manner that diffuses any possibility of being overwhelmed. The contractors that Lenny works with are top-notch. I would not hesitate to use Lenny and anyone who does so will be completely satisfied. Lenny does a terrific job. You can completely trust him to get any job done and it will be beautiful!

Our project was a total Remodel with several additions. Dozens of workers at different stages. We found Old Colony and all sub contractors and workers to be extremely professional, courteous, helpful. It was an extremely large and long project, made easier by Lenny and his team keeping us informed and advising changes and/or modifications if our ideas were off the mark. Would definately use Old Colony again for any future projects.

When my wife and I decided to add a large three-season porch to our house, I set out to find a design/build company we could trust to do high-quality work. We finally decided on Colony Home Improvement of Needham, Mass., and we could not be happier. Lenny Gillis, the owner of Colony, has guided us through every step of the project, and I mean EVERY step. After a few conversations and a rough sketch we made, Lenny brought in an architect to draw up plans and present them to us. He took the lead and guided is through the highly complex and time-comsuming "special permit" process -- filings, public hearings, and so on -- in our town. He took care of all paperwork and approvals from town officials. The contractors Lenny has hired for our project -- excavator/mason, framing and finish carpenters, electrician -- have not only all done exceptionally high-quaity work, they have all been responsive to any requests for changes we've made. Lenny and all of his contractors have also been respectful and thoughtful of our day-to-day lives as this big project takes places in our rather small house and tiny lot. I have an anecdote that tells you a lot about Lenny: the week before Fourth of July, custom-made screens for our porch were delivered. But after the delivery, we discovered the manufacturer had simply forgotten to the screen doors -- and would be close the week of the Fourth of July. Lenny knew the manufacturer. He called him and talked him into making our screen doors that day. On the Friday before the long holiday weekend, Lenny personally drove down to Rhode Island to pick up the screen doors so my wife and I could use the porch throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Lenny always puts in the extra effort for his clients, and so do his contractors.

Lenny and his team did a great job on my addition. I wanted my country kitchen remodeled when I had Lenny add a breeze way and garage. Lenny suggested replacing the wall between the breeze way and garage with a half wall, making the breeze way and beautiful oak stair case to the spare room over the garage part of the country kitchen. Lenny did a terrific job in managing every aspect of the project -- contractors, inspectors, and vendors, us -- to get the job done and done well, with excellent communication along the way. We trusted him and his team leaders to look out for our interests, and we felt that his and his team's balance of dedication to quality and search for value and cost savings was a pretty good fit with us. Aside from our own satisfaction with the outcome, I think based on feedback from occasional objective third parties passing through that Lenny did an excellent job, providing quality, aesthetics and value.
