S & S Floor Surfacing

I highly regret doing business with this company. They do not stand behind their work, and they do not subscribe to best practices in the industry. They cut corners that impact the homeowner down the line. I had brand new wood flooring installed and finished 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, I must now pay another company thousands to fix the very poor work of S & S flooring. Future customers beware that S&S Flooring told me that it is “normal” to have to spend thousands on your wood floor 2.5 years after it is installed and that is why they won’t stand behind their work.

We have used S&S for more than 30 years, on projects in three different houses. They are absolutely reliable ... we can count on them to show up when they promise and to do the highest quality work. Their prices are very competitive. I like the fact that they often send someone out to check the job when it's finished, to make sure that we're happy. The floors are always gorgeous. We would highly recommend them for your next hardwood flooring project.

From the job estimate to exlanation to execution we very pleased. It was our second time for wood floor installation and we'll use them again should the need/want arise.

I've used S&S 3 times now for different homes I've owned over the years. That in itself speaks volumes about their quality. They are knowledgeable about flooring, fair in their pricing and are there when they say they will be. Precisely the reason they were asked to do my parents house too.

S&S refinished my @ 70 year-old hw floors whole house (@ 2,000 sq ft). Excellent quality - highly professional - reasonable pricing compared to other floor companies. During the remodel, I had multiple other contractors comment on how great the hw floors look and asked for the S&S contact info. I HIGHLY reccommend these guys - I had small scratches on my new marble countertop caused by their sub, and S&S made good on it with no complaint. Terry (owner?) is a stand up guy - with an excellent finished product. Couldn't be happier with my hw floors!

S&S did a beautiful job on our hardwood floors and were kind enough to return days later to repair scratches we had made in the new floors as we moved our refrigerator back in place. We were worried we had ruined the job and would have to pay them to do it all over again, but their repair was outstanding. These people know hardwood floors! The job cost about $2,400 for a large foyer and kitchen/eat-in dining area. The bid from S&S was the lowest of the three, but we decided to pay extra for dust-abatement. The company taped the area off from the remainder of the house and completely sealed our cupboards off from the dust—well worth the money. I had absolutely no cleanup to do. We couldn't be happier.

My hardwood floors are beautiful!! What a great experience! From the estimate to the prep to the refinish to the stain. Paul did a fabulous job! 4 of my neighbors all what their floors done now too. Thank you so much for everything!

Terry and his crew did the most amazing job on my floors. I had to have previous floors removed due to water damage. They removed my old floors, helped me in my decision process by providing information on floor types, maintenance etc. They finished ahead of schedule but took time to lay out my floors beautifully, the finish was perfect and they were very prompt in returning to review the job and answer any questions I had. They were hands down the best company I have ever worked with

Highly recommend S&S Flooring. They were well priced, easy to work with and highly efficient. Their employees were very polite and helpful and just generally a pleasure. They also gave great advice and guidance for the project.

AT ALL COSTS DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! S&S Floor Surfacing Inc was contracted as a 3rd tier sub-contractor through Verteran's Carpet One and Lionsbridge Contractor Group to complete a flood restoration in two levels of my home. They didn't complete the initial work for 6 months with no explanations. When the work was initially completed the floors looked unbelievably terrible. The issues with the flooring were as follows, vapor barrier was not installed under the wood flooring, wood was not left to acclimate prior to installation, initial unfilled gaps of a 1/16th of an inch are present between old and new sections of flooring, surface finish has dirt in it all over the floor, finish is uneven with some areas not getting any finish, nail holes were not filled, pencils lines are present under the finish, gapping between 1/32nd of and inch and 1/16th of an inch over the whole floor within a week due to lack of acclimation, filling is chipping out, because of separation of boards edges are sharp and catch as you walk over them. The owner of the company came to the home and agreed the repairs were not done to his standards but after discussion with the project manager at Veterans Carpet One they refused to fix all the issues. Veterans Carpet One hired an independent inspector to document the condition of the floor and confirms with a 20 page report that the flooring was not done properly. Veterans Carpet One refused to fix the issues but offered to add a coat of finish. Lionsbridge Contractor Group said to pursue any additional effort would not be possible until S&S Floor Surfacing Inc had an opportunity to fix their mistakes so they came in and added a coat of finish 11 months after the original claim. The rework did not resolve any of the issues previously discussed and the rework looks even worse than the original finish. Now, over a year has past with unprofessional back and forth and S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group refuse to fix the flooring. S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group are big on customer service and top of the industry promises but terrible on results. They are unethical, unprofessional, and the quality of their work is seriously poor. At all cost do not use this company.

Care and concern go into timing, placement, color style, and look go into every room! This is the second time we've used this company. No regrets. They even broke it up into two phases so we could move furniture around to utilize the space we have. Will use this company again, if the need arises. We received 3 estimates from different companies. Thumbs up! Undergoing phase 2 of wood floor install.
