Liza designed our kitchen renovation for our 1900 Victorian, and honestly, it's one of the smartest calls we made on the whole project. What impressed me most is how she thinks about a space. Plenty of designers can make something look good in photos, but Liza actually thinks through how you'll live in it — cabinet placement, appliance flow, the stuff you only notice if it's wrong. She never sacrificed function for style, and she never sacrificed style for function either. She found the actual sweet spot, every time. She was also the glue holding the contractor side together. Anyone who's been through a renovation knows that's usually where things fall apart — miscommunication, missed details, plans that get lost in translation between the designer's vision and what actually gets built. Liza didn't let that happen. She stayed on top of it and made sure execution matched intent. The part that really sold me, though: about a year after the project was finished, we ran into a problem with one of the appliances. Liza jumped in to help us figure it out, unprompted, well past the point where anyone would've expected her to still be involved. That's not something you get from most people you hire for a one-time project. If you're weighing whether a designer is worth it for a kitchen renovation, my answer is simple: get Liza. You'll end up with a space that works and looks great, and you'll have someone in your corner even after the job's technically done.

Liza listens and observes...and then makes your house a home that reflects your style. Liza redesigned three bathrooms, a garden apartment, a bedroom, and an office plus "updated" our living room and tv room. She incorporated what we had with excellent new pieces and rearranged living spaces to make them more comfortable and useful. She respected our budget, sourcing from various stores and manufacturers and finding the best quality. She also worked closely with our contractor and problem-solved on the go. And did I mention what a pleasure it is to work with Liza? She is creative and caring, and has wonderful ideas and taste. She is a delight to work with. Liza figured out what we wanted better than we could and made our home both beautiful and a haven.

Liza Kuhn is a spectacularly creative and professional interior designer. She has the ability to use your personal style as a point of departure and then elevate and enrich the design so that the final product is even lovelier than you imagined. Beyond her wonderful sense of style and taste, Liza works effortlessly to stay both within your budget and on schedule. Similarly, she works seamlessly with architectural teams and contractors -- not just working along side them, but earning their trust and contributing to their success as well. I have worked with Liza on two projects -- a house and a co-op apartment. Both had vastly different interior styling missives, budget expectations, project timelines, and challenges. On both projects, Liza delivered a truly exceptional design that exceeded my expectations.

Lisa was wonderful to work with. I'm an extremely picky and difficult client to work with but Liza was able to bring my vision to life. The vision for my project evolved over numerous design plans until it was absolutely perfect. As a visual person, it was difficult for me to picture certain elements in my space or how certain things would look. Liza went above and beyond to give me a realistic view of what my project would look like prior to finalizing plans. She took the stress of decision making off the table and made the process fun. I could not be happier with the way my family room and kitchen turned out. Would highly recommend.

I could not recommend Liza more highly. I did a full gut renovation of my home in the West Village, and hired Liza first to do the design work, and then (because she did such an amazing job) to do the interior decorating of my apartment. Boy, am I glad I did. Liza worked TIRELESSLY to make it perfect. She reimagined everything, from rearranging walls around unmovable piping to create a dining nook, to incorporating aspects of the original apartment (built in 1849) into the modern design, and so much more. She did a fantastic job. She also worked to order and coordinate getting great materials, appliances, etc. Whenever we had to buy something or design something, Liza gave me different options, each of which were special in their own way, and the final product was spectacular. Not only is she a great designer, but she listened to me, understood what I wanted, and always made sure to make design decisions with ME in mind, not herself. In hiring a designer, I was wary of picking someone who would create some artsy style that I didn't appreciate. Liza never tried to do that. She took the time to learn about my thoughts, asked lots of questions to gauge what I liked, and then used her keen eye to create something that fit in with my taste and personality. All the while, she created a beautiful product. People walk into my apartment and literally gasp in amazement at the transformation. That was all Liza. I thought that Liza was extremely affordable relative to other designers, and she was well worth the money. She's a great person, too. She's easy to talk to and get along with, which is no small feat. For someone with whom you're going to spend dozens and dozens of hours, that's important. In short, I hired nearly a dozen people to pull together this renovation--from expeditors to contractors to architects and inspectors--and Liza was easily my best hire. She increased the value of my home by at least $100,000 more than if she hadn't been there. So many people told me I didn't need a designer, or that it was a "luxury" purchase. They clearly haven't met Liza: she's an investment in your home. You'll be thankful you hired her when you go to re-sell... which you'll probably never do because you'll be in love with the end product.

Liza Kuhn Interiors is amazing. We had a very positive experience working with Liza for our recent renovation in our NYC apartment and would highly recommend her design firm. She is a very talented designer who never stops coming with ideas and ways to look at things differently, and was able to adapt to our style and taste. Liza really partnered with us and would show us a range of ideas and ways to approach the design/renovation while always coming up with solutions and options if we were not comfortable with something. This was key for us b/c we are not savvy in home design and relied on her expertise to guide us, as well as provide a lot of options to help us feel comfortable with our decision. For our renovation, she led the design and resourcing of materials for 2 bathrooms (master and kids), flooring, new furniture for bedroom, living room and dining room + style/design ideas for the kid's beds. Throughout the process, she was very detail oriented not only for the design aspects but also in her elevations, the coordination of materials, and communicating w/the GC + Liza quickly sorted out any incorrect materials that showed up and contacted suppliers to reconcile and get new materials asap. She was often correcting the work of our GC, who was not good. It was a pleasure working with Liza. I learned a lot from her and would highly recommend her to anyone. If we were to do another renovation or need design help, I would definitely call her again.

My husband and I hired Liza Kuhn to design the interior of a two bedroom coop apartment we purchased. My husband uses a walker and we needed to renovate the entire apartment in order to make it accessible and safe for him. At the same time, we wanted the apartment to reflect our taste. Liza was an essential part of the team that included our architect, general contractor, various subcontractors and vendors, taking the laboring oar to make sure that everyone was in communication and on the same page. She also dealt with building management and our on-site building manager to make sure that their requirements were met. Liza rendered drawings of all the built-ins and closets, planned the placement of, and sourced, every piece of furniture, the appliances, wall coverings, window shades, carpeting, rugs, and lighting fixtures. She accomplished this with an eye to design and to the need to make the apartment accessible to my husband. She communicated with me on a regular and timely basis, answered my emails, texts and telephone calls promptly and made sure that she was present for the delivery of (and inspected for damage) all of the furniture. I can say without reservation that Liza, was the consummate professional and helped my husband and I achieve our vision. The fee she charged us for her work was fair and she was a pleasure to work with.

I can't recommend LKI highly enough! Liza helped us design our apartment basically from scratch. She was great to work with and very good at incorporating our likes and dislikes. I was also very happy with the budget she built for us so that we could see what to expect for the project cost. She made setting up a new apartment painless, and we love the final product!

We were introduced to Liza during the initial stages of selecting a space for our new restaurant in NYC. The restaurant, Charley St, which is located in Nolita, NYC, was our first restaurant in the city. Liza's friendly approach appealed to us as we were new to operating in the city. Her upfront transparency and genuine interest in our restaurant concept made it easy for us to select her to be our interior design. When we begun designing what the space would look like, Liza took the lead and was ahead of the curve every step of the way. While she was the driving force for the majority of our interior design work, she was also incredibly open to hearing feedback from the founders and she also did a great job of incorporating things we wanted in our restaurant. The final product is something we are all truly proud of. We have been reviewed in numerous newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc., and a big part of this success is driven by how welcoming and warm our restaurant feels. We are currently in the process of looking for our second location, to be opened in either Midtown or Nomad in NYC. Liza's fantastic job on our first location coupled with her friendly and professional work practices have resulted in us hiring her for our next location. What can I say, we are lucky we found her and we are excited to work with her again for restaurant #2 and hopefully in the future many more projects.

Liza is an amazing designer. For the first time in my entire life, I truly love coming back to my home every day. Liza took time to get to know me, understand my family's needs, and design a look for my home that had both the gorgeous style that I was craving, mixed with the functionality that a home with a toddler desperately needs. One the build out of a restaurant to a challenging budget, the other to a studio kitchen designed for production of recipe shooting. When it comes to looking at the skillset of someone in this space you look at ways they overcame some significant barriers to leading success. Charley St, the restaurant, has become to some regard more known for its interior design over its product. Not only is the space often regarded as 'welcoming' and 'inviting' but it also has been seen in countless magazines globally as the most instagrammable cafe in nyc. Considering the small budget this holds efficiency for LKI's work in high regard. For example the use of the avocado wallpaper in the bathroom has lead to millenials alike wishing to grab a selfie in a space that is often deterred. This creative unique mind is one of the many details that sets LKI apart. With the challenge of finding a space that is scalable but demands authenticity LKI has managed to tick both boxes with the affordable price point and working towards the unique experience that we wanted evry customer to have. On the second project, the studio kitchen, LKI was provided a walk in cool room and managed to turn it into an epic kitchen used for production. Taking advantage of what they had in front of them LKI embraced the existing walls and used a color tone to create space. The functionality of the space was also in the brief, with the need for ideal lighting and sound to be optimized for videos and podcasts. This is a space I have been wanting for many years... it was delivered quickly and professionally. I am forever grateful for the work the team has done and I will continue to work with LKI for many many more projects I will most definitely recommend their work purely on efficiency alone... the eye they have to represent a client's vision is evident. Ultimately I am proud to say that I had nothing to do with the interior design work, just to say that LKI delivered me my dream

I had the pleasure of working with Liza in decorating the living room of my newly purchased townhouse. Originally I thought I would have to do some demolition due to having a huge marble mantel piece that I thought was not very functional for the space. But with Liza's creative mind and expertise she was able to come up with a floor plan to place furniture in a way that allowed me to keep the piece. This saved me a lot of money! While working with Liza, I felt as though the project was completed with ease, stress free and overall fun! She took the time to get to know how I wanted to use the space and got a feel for taste in design. All documents (floor plans, furniture suggestions, paint colors etc) were easy to read and were sent in a very timely fashion. Everything Liza suggested was well within my budget. She placed all the orders for me and any issues that came about she immediately acted. I would highly recommend Liza for any home project/design. I am very happy with my living room and could not thank Liza enough for all the help!

I worked with Liza on the completion of the Studio Kitchen that my team was in the process of constructing. Liza did an incredible job on this project, taking care of every detail from lighting to flooring to the auxiliary appliances and tools we needed to create a beautiful production kitchen. Liza is responsible, thoughtful, and insightful.
