Father & Son Construction

My first project with Father and Son was completed in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. The professionalism was stellar. From the beginning of the project to the final closeout, Father and Son went above and beyond! I am starting my second project and would not go to any other construction company to do work on my home. I highly recommend Father and Son Construction; you won't regret it.

I am reporting a great experience on a remodel with Father & Sons Construction. I have a second floor porch that was open and never used due to the wind, rain and birds that regularly visited. I wanted it enclosed so I could use it as an office or something similar, even though I could not easily get ductwork. Early in 2023, I talked to many companies. Five came out but incredibly, only 2 offered proposals, despite many follow up calls (1 declined, 2 never responded). The contract was signed in March 2023. There was a delay for an appeal with the city because they wanted it bricked but the first floor was not bricked. Construction started in March 2024 and I just received the final inspection approval. Father & Sons Construction was very meticulous and spent a lot of time making sure everything was satisfactory. There were change orders that I approved, but no "surprise fees". The payment plan made sense (a small amount down, payment as the work progressed and the final payment when completely done). I would definitely use them again. The charges were reasonable. Some of my friends thought I could get it cheaper, but I think you often get what you paid for, and when problems arose, I didn't want to worry that the builder would then ask for extra money. As is often the case, they encountered unforeseen difficulties but worked around them without asking for extra money.

Father and Son Construction: Matt was the representative. He gave me details on the sunporch roof replacement. Explained the procedure and how long it would take to complete the job. I appreciated his knowledge and professionalism. The work was done in a timely manner as well as the clean up. I recommend Father and Son Construction for your next home construction job. And yes, I will use their company again for another home project.

We had a unique job that included building a laundry room on the second level of our home. Mat Vivona and his team did all the design and work and it turned out exceptional, including on price, which was 35% lower than the other bids we received.

Father & Son exceeded my expectations. The workmanship is fantastic. Watching the phases of the remodeling/build-out displayed the "Above grade" materials -- rock solid. I have a Loft style condo with 20 foot ceilings. Wanted to add second floor open loft areas to take advantage of high windows. Wanted to keep an open industrial look. Gave F&S my vision with details and they improved upon it with suggestions that provided desired function and style. On lower floor wanted to add a study/bedroom, new staircase. Catwalks from existing upper loft bedroom/bath to new areas. Must say, from painting, flooring, industrial rail system etc. around upper deck areas, everything looks GREAT. Project Manager "Vince" is a top notch professional. He cared about the job and doing it right. Kept me in loop and got me involved to make decisions e.g. railing system design, wood flooring etc. The experience was time and money well spent. I highly recommend Father & Son Construction and team.

Installed a Kitchen and a Bathroom exhaust fan in each, my home is a older brick ranch, however they found ways to install the units, in a step by step process that resulted in a very satisfied customer, down to the last detail.

The project Father and Son done at my home required 4 different areas of expertise and they had them all! They assigned a project manger who stayed in contact with me all the time and made sure all the work was done to my satisfaction (which it met all my expectations). Great knowledge of the work required and outstanding professionalism. It was a bit expensive but absolutely worth it!

Great team work. Very accommodating. On time. Quality of work great. The team leader was extremely knowledgeable and answered all questions I a timely manner.

We interviewed several companies prior to hiring Father and Son. However, it was F&S who ultimately bid & won the job. We purchased a 1920's home that needed a lot of work - plumbing, new kitchen, new windows, new mudroom, new insulation and new hardwood floor (kitchen). F&S was NOT the cheapest bid, however, after discussing the project in depth with the PM (Project Manager) and owner of F&S, we felt confident in their ability and capacity to handle the many jobs. I didn't want a "hack" to come in on the cheap - and leave me with a mess. This had happened to several of our friends and they were left with disasters. I would rather pay a little more and receive quality work upfront. We are the kind of people who desire an honest job done - for honest pay. This is exactly what we received all the way through the job. At the end of the day, we received quality work and communication. We received a honesty when things weren't going as quickly as we had hoped (due to weather or circumstances that were out of F&S's control) and we always felt like we were a priority. If I had questions, I received answers - I never felt like I was walking blindfolded through a minefield - I was always made aware of the status of the project - and the appropriate timelines for delivery. The bottom line is we are totally satisfied on all levels. There weren't any "added costs" after the initial contract was signed - unless we asked for the scope of work to be increased. F&S told me what to expect upfront in terms of financial commitment, time commitments and all of the above - and they delivered 100% of the time. Overall, I would recommend them to both family and friends - and will use them again for any upcoming home projects. I am grateful for the level of work that we received. 5 stars.

I had new gutters and siding put on my home. The wood behind the gutters was rotted and they replaced all of that too. I had several estimates done and theirs was the most reasonable. The work was done on time and the gentlemen who came were very professional. Will definitely call them the next time I need work done!!

After waiting for over four months for the job to get started. The work was started and ran smoothly. No regrets keep up the good work.

Outstanding! Excellent! Five starts +++. I had an excellent experience with this company from start to finish. Every aspect of their operation is professional and effective. THEY ACTUALLY RETURN YOUR CALLS, SHOW UP FOR APPOINTMENTS AND DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO!!! The project was completed on time, on cost and we were delighted with the results. Quality was above and beyond what we expected. It was not a huge project but needed some attention to detail. The estimate was accurate and the sales person was professional and knowledgable. The project manager did an outstanding job. He was available and responded in a timely manner every time we had a question or concern. He was present on the project and intervened with the subcontractor on, at least, two occasions to improve the quality of the work. I believe Father and Son mean what they said when they told us they would not want any work done in a customer's home that they would not have done in their own home. We are very pleased with the results but I think the best part of the experience with Father and Son was the excellent customer service and the way we were treated throughout the project with concern, respect and a sense of professional responsibility for the job. I would recommended Father and Son most highly and plan to use them again on other projects in the future. It's great when you find professionals you can really trust. A+++++

Had a 500 soft addition added on, along with new windows, new roof, new siding, and a front porch. They were fast, clean, and did a great job! Now of days you can’t find all 3 in one company.

I have worked with Mat on two bathroom remodel projects at my home over the last few years. Mat is VERY good at his job! I would recommend him to ANYONE for his expertise. Mat even recommended someone to cut down a dead tree in my backyard for a very reasonable rate. But more than anything Mat is a professional and is willing to work with you. He understands his customers needs and is a credit to his profession.

The first scheduled estimate was a no call, no show. I agreed to let them come out the next weekend to make up for it. When I got the estimate, it was a ridiculous figure with no breakdown. I asked for a breakdown and got a lot of grief "we don't do breakdowns" "this is why we don't work with insurance companies" (my job was not through insurance, I just wanted to know what in the world they had put in my quote) They finally gave me a semi-breakdown, which included $2,500 in plumbing ***there was no plumbing on my job!!!!!!! Thereafter, I got a quote for the electrical portion of the job from an electrician. He quoted me 1/5 of the price that Father and Son quoted. I truly feel that me being a woman had a lot to do with it, they just assumed I would just say "ok" because I was clueless. Well, guess what, I'm not!!

Excellent finish skills, very fast and very clean in the installation phase. I can only highly recommend them for any remodeling project.

In June 2012, Father & Son completed a total tear out and remodel of our small 1950s bathroom. From the first visit by their salesman, to the last visit by Mat Vivona, we could not be more pleased! All the trades were wonderful - everyone took great care to keep our home as clean as possible, ensure our kitties did not get out, and the workmanship was outstanding, especially the tile work. Overall, everyone was very willing to work with me on any requests I had, and the project was completed on time and within budget (taking into account some surprises inside the walls). Since the job has been completed, I can't say enough good things about Father & Son, and have recommended them highly to anyone considering home improvements in the area.
