MAW delivered a superb remodeling job for our condo on every score. Mike and Scott were excellent consultants on all issues, from overall look, feel and design to construction details such as wood floor refinishing, interior door replacement, closet modernization, wall and ceiling colors and painting, lighting, heating and air conditioning and kitchen upgrading. A key feature of their approach is weekly meetings, in-person or video, with us to go over all the work planned for the week, to be sure we understood the details and options. Each meeting had a pre-arranged agenda which we often added to on the spot, and the meetings did not close until we had understood all the options and agreed on a plan. Their advice on the many decisions to be made was invaluable. They knew the options well and what level of remodeling we had in mind; their advice was perfectly in tune with our ideas. We could not have been happier with the outcome and now consider them trusted and welcome consultants.

My husband and I live in a family home that is over 50 years old. We want to stay here as long as we possibly can. Scott's perusal let us know exactly what we needed to do for comfort, safety and convenience. Actually this is our third renovation with Scott Sevon, and each change we have brought to our home has increased its appearance and livability as well as its value. - Somehow Scott knows what we need even before we do. He put us with an architect who really listened to the way we lived and moved around our home. In our first addition, he supervised the building of a large family room on the back of our small brick ranch home. The whole house was brighter, more spacious, with the addition of the seven almost floor to ceiling windows at the back. Best of all, it did not look like an addition. In this second renovation he enlarged a bedroom and added a bathroom within it that is absolutely beautiful, from the tile on the walls to the flooring. We wanted a bathroom that would be handicapped accessible as we aged, and he certainly did that but without its being too obvious. Through all of this, Scott was ever present. He called to tell us when -- and how-- to be ready for the next step His sub-contractors were prompt, courteous and ready to answer any questions. Let me give you an example of Scott's work ethic: Today he stopped to reset the light in the closet . He pays that much attention to detail.

Choosing MAW for my project was a small leap of faith, but now that my home is nearing completion, I can say unequivocally that I would work with MAW again (I only hope the feeling is mutual). Scott and Mike recently completed a renovation of my townhouse - specifically, gut renovations of my bathrooms, all new lighting throughout the house (including replacing track lighting with modern-style can lights), painting of the entire house (all four floors plus the garage), and some water leak repairs. MAW did an outstanding job, starting with the planning, the designer recommendation, and the finish selections. Scott and Mike have been renovating homes for so long that their experience in all phases of the job was extremely beneficial. Their recommendations with regard to every item on the job came with expertise with regard to quality of the finishes, such as tile, lighting, faucets, stone, and much more. All of their suppliers for these components are also experts, which gave me great comfort during the planning and finish selection phases. Scott and Mike were always available for phone calls and texts. Either Mike or Scott stopped by my house during the renovation at least twice each week to check on progress and the quality of the workmanship. Their team who worked on my house were very professional, courteous, and perfectionists. When there were any questions during the installation, Scott or Mike and their installation team always asked me what I wanted to do, along with there recommendation. Documentation was also excellent throughout the process. The scope was clearly defined in a spreadsheet, and all revisions to the scope were clearly noted in a timely manner. I definitely recommend MAW, Scott, and Mike to anyone renovating his/her home.

I've used MAW for several projects. They are always courteous, professional and complete high quality work. They also do a great job of navigating the space constraints of a downtown condo.

MAW worked with us to do our kitchen renovations and we are extremely happy with his work and his crew. He would always let me know ahead of time if they were coming, if plans changed he would always notify me. He has a good working team that is reliable, he would check on the work himself regularly. Reno in a time of Covid...what can I say about MAW other than they were not only our contractors for our two condo unit combination/renovation project, but also became very dear people to us during this crazy 2020! They are not only good people to work with but just good people full stop. We first sat down with Scott and Mike over a year ago to carefully and thoughtfully design our new home, combining a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom condo in our Streeterville high-rise. The construction began execution in February and we all know what happened next! This team was NOTHING but professional dealing with our complete building shutdown for nearly 3 months. When allowed back, they agreed to all sorts of safety protocols (many of them over the top) to work within the confines of our building's rules. Then we had an unfortunate flood in one of the units, and the team immediately jumped in to help us both remediate the damage as well as navigate our insurance claims. Add to that normal project challenges and yet the teams would show up to the job site with a positive attitude and completed our work within budget, on time (as possible!), and with great care and quality. Scott and Mike are truly very understanding, reasonable and fair in their contracting. On the job site, Mike and Armando's keen eye on detail and quality was very much appreciated. And Mario and his team did a very nice job completing the work. We would be happy to work with MAW again and recommend to others!

Scott and Mike are true pro's who excel at all aspects of general contracting. Their subcontractors are the best in the business at their respective trades and treat MAW's jobs on a preferred basis. The quality of the workmanship on every aspect of our project was top notch and their responsiveness made us feel like our's was the only job they were working on. We were particularly impressed with respect to how they handled the more complex components - Mike's engineering background is a huge advantage and enabled them to elegantly solve structural issues without sacrificing aesthetics. We cannot recommend these guys enough - they are the rare GC that you will enjoy working with throughout and continue to view favorably even once the work is complete.

Our project was completed on time and on budget with the highest quality of workmanship. When our friends come to visit they always comment about how nice everything looks especially the tile which is perfectly level and spaced even in the large areas. Great craftsmanship shows, especially in the kitchen where the tile was replaced WITHOUT removing the existing cabinetry (see photo).

The quality starts with the owners of MAW and permeates all the way down the organization right to the laborer in the way he sweeps a floor at the end of the day. As a member I have many Builders and Remodelers to choose from when wanting my kitchen and bathroom remodelled. Because of the reputation of the MAW Chicago team it was easy to choose them for my project. The Best !

We had just moved into a new condo, and the kitchen was in sore need of updating. We got in touch with a number of contractors including Scott, and were extremely impressed by the responsiveness we received. He listened carefully to what we wanted, provided a timely bid, and most importantly was able to give us lots of detail about what the bid included, which helped us make tradeoffs with our budget. Other contractors we contacted were slower with bids, were vague on what was being done, and were much less able to answer questions, so MAW was the clear choice at the end of the process. Scott's guys were great (the tile guys in particular deserve a mention for their hard work leveling an uneven floor, leveling uneven walls, and making sure everything was straight was a huge job), and while it took longer than we expected, the end product was outstanding. They were also very responsive throughout the process; there are bound to be miscommunications or issues along the way with any project, and they sorted them out every time. Scott even helped me get a great deal on a new sub-zero wine cooler! I would absolutely use MAW Chicago again for any additional renovation work.

We planned a few remodeling projects in our home, and hired MAW to complete them. First we had our rec room and laundry room floor redone with a faux wood floor. It is beautiful and perfectly done. Then we hired MAW to sand and polish our hardwood floors in the bedrooms, living room and hallways. This was a big job, and the floors came out beautifully. MAW also made some custom cabinets for our laundry room since we do not have a pantry in our kitchen. And, when we had a major plumbing problem that included the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms, on several levels of the house, they completed this project to our satisfaction. Next up, replacing closet and bedroom doors and exterior doors on the house. I can count on excellent work superior craft-men ship from trades that have the experience and professionalism to work in our home, and make it a more enjoyable place to live.

I would recommend MAW for any construction needs. They did a wonderful remodel of my kitchen. It was completely redesigned and completed. Not only do we love it but we have had neighbors over that asked how it happened. During the process my wife was pleased by how clean the house was left each day. In 2002 Scott Sevon built a family room addition on our 39 year old home, a well-built brick ranch. From the initial interview we were impressed by Scott's respect for our home. He walked around, noting the depth of the basement, the thickness of the walls, heating system, drainage on the outside, perusing the blueprint and specification of the original house. With an architect, and after much thought and and decision, he came up with blinds inside and pull down screens as well as french doors leading to a deck. Either Scott or his father, Dick Sevon, checked on the project every day. Dick Sevon was like a "second pair of eyes" for Scott, a meticulous craftsman who quite often knelt and worked with the crew. Everything had to be perfect - accurate, true, just. As a result, none of the project required any post-maintenance either structurally or mechanically. Finally, everything was completed in a timely manner. We knew that we were coming close to Christmas. The plastic curtain was being removed and the carpeting laid. It was three days before Christmas when Scott showed up, looked around and saw the few remaining details. Putting his phone to his ear, he pointed to the remaining workers and then to what needed attention - all while speaking to someone on the phone. It was magic! Within a few hours, we were getting ready for our family Christmas! Scott Sevon has the skill, knowledge, but most important, the conscience of an exceptional builder and renovator.

We used MAW back in 2010- 2012 for some redecorating in our condo, and we were very happy with the service and quality of work. We decided to finish our Libertyville home's basement in 2014, and we had MAW quote of the job. This was an extensive, permitted job with full plumbing and electrical installation furnace replacement, and complete build-out of an exercise room , family / recreation room , bedroom, bath with shower, wine cellar, and storage room. They also provided the audio-video system contractor. We awarded the job to MAW, and they successfully completed it in early 2015. We love the basement now, and the MAW team did a terrific job in managing the work and executing the plans on budget. The few issues that came up were handled effectively with no hassle other than a minor problem with the AV installer. We highly recommend this company - Steve, Scott, Mike, and Janice all worked hard to make this a wonderful experience for us.

I worked with MAW Chicago to renovate a 2,700 sq foot vintage condo in Chicago. We gutted the entire condo and rebuilt it from the floors up. This included building an office, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms. From demo to the final paint swipe, I was kept up to speed on status and issues from Mike. He took ownership of fixing problems quickly which were challenging in a building with original 1927 plumbing and electrical. He had great sub contractors and kept a close eye on their progress. What is most impressive about MAW is their professionalism and attention to detail. Being a first time renovator, i needed guidance along the way and professional treatment for even the smallest questions. Mike & Scott are the utmost professionals who truly care about their customers and the results. There is absolutely nothing i would change with my renovation, I am 100% pleased with the results and the support they provided me once I moved in. The quality of work is excellent, which has been noticed by all who visit and admire the work in each room. A true first class company with world class employees.

We are extremely satisfied with MAW Chicago and wouldn't hesitate to call on them for any work in our home. We had a very large and expensive Pella window which needed replacing due to water damage from rain and snow leakage. MAW Chicago worked with Pella to order the window and once delivered did the installation all in a seemingly effortless fashion. We are rather particular homeowners and we feel their workmanship to be superior as well as how neat and clean they were. The room didn't look like any work had been done when finished! We feel confident in giving them the highest recommendation.

We had water extreme water damage from heavy snow fall on our roof over kitchen two winters ago. We contacted Mr. Sevon at MAW. Our insurance company was not being cooperative with us. When I reflect on the entire process of our substantial renovation project with MAW, the two words that sum up the project have to do with the final product: "High Quality". We took our historical home down to the exterior walls, and completely rebuilt the inside. The final product is the home which we truly love. The finishes and details are immediately noticeable, and most everyone comments on the sense of quality they feel when they step in our home. This was not an easy renovation, and there were many changes we made along the way. In the end, we are very happy with the whole of the renovation, and truly happy with our home. After the renovation, each time we had a punch list, things were addressed almost immediately. At the end of one year, I made a punch list with literally five very minor things on it. These were addressed, and we felt and still feel that the builders are there for us.

Scott, Mike and crew were extremely professional and their work was superlative. From the first meeting, we were impressed with their organization and ideas. Our home was almost 2 years in planning and execution and they were there every step of the way. We moved in well over a year ago and MAW still is regularly helping us troubleshoot any glitches. My husband and I hired MAW-Chicago after a 6 month nightmare with another "contractor", to rescue us with a kitchen and bathroom remodel. Mike Nagel and his "dream team " of highly qualified professionals turned our nightmare into more of a dream come true. We love our bathroom and kitchen. Our vanity turned out to be a beautiful, custom, piece of art by a local cabinet maker. If we had seen John Valentine's work before, we would have had him do the kitchen cabinets. Mike Nagel made suggestions even better than what we could have imagined to solve several problems relative to the lighting, shower system, floor heating etc.. He never said "No,we can't do that."
