Ludlow Tile and Marble

TLDR: Craftsmanship looked good initially, but deteriorated quickly, within a year the grout was crumbling from between the tiles. Mike doesn’t seem to care about making it right even though the grout manufacturer agreed it was a grout issue and was willing to cover the cost of regrouting under warranty. Had my bathroom floor and shower tiled by Ludlow tile in March of 2023. They were fairly easy to work with and pricing was reasonable. Initially the work looked good and I was happy with the results. Within a few months I started noticing the grout cracking in many of the tile seams on both the floor and shower. Not a huge deal, I reached out to Mike and he sent one of his guys to patch it up. A few months later, same thing again, cracking grout lines. Again Mike sent someone over to patch and silicone the corner seams. About a year after the initial install, April 2024, we started noticing that chunks of grout were falling out of the seams and the grout would literally rub off on your finger if you rubbed it while wet. I reached out again to Mike to see if this was normal (obviously not). He told me it looked like an issue with the grout and he would have the grout rep reach out to me. This never happened and I had to follow up and get the number for the grout rep to contact him myself. The grout rep sent me a bottle of acrylic hardener for the grout. Of course Mike was no help at this point and I had to patch the missing grout areas and apply the harder to each grout line myself. The hardener seemed to do the job for a while, but now we are about three years out from the original install and the grout is once again crumbling and falling out in chunks. I reached out to the grout rep who advised me that the whole bathroom should be regrouted. Fortunately they would cover the cost of this under the grout warranty, but of course they wouldn’t cover the hassle, headaches, mess, cost of removing the shower doors, etc. I reached out to Mike yet again for a quote on regrouting the bathroom so that I could submit it to the grout rep. He responded with a generic answer saying that labor would be $100/hr but he wasn’t sure how long it would take. No apology, no concern for the shoddy workmanship or the headaches this has caused me. I told him I needed a quote I could submit, not just an hourly rate. Since then I have not heard back from Mike, that was in February of 2026. Long story short, if you want to save yourself a lot of problems, you’re better off finding someone who stands behind their work and takes pride in providing a results that stands the test of time. One more note, I provided all of the materials for this job EXCEPT for the grout which Mike said he would supply.

Mike and Mike were very professional from start to finish. Very reasonable pricing, quality craftsmanship. We recently just renovated our kitchen and Mike was by far our best contractor to work with. He installed our backsplash and it came out beautifully. Communicated well, showed up right on time, was very respectful of the new kitchen and friendly to my wife and kids. I will be using Mike again for future projects and highly recommend him and his crew for any size job!

Mike did such a great job tiling our bathroom shower and floor He was punctual, reliable, neat and did a spot on job! I will be hiring him again for other projects ! Lesley

Mike Ludlow recently worked on a full bath remodel for our house. We had a fantastic experience with him and his crew....being super busy, good communication is very important to us and Mike is great at it, and very proactive. We’ve now worked with Mike and his team on two renovations. We have worked with other tile specialists over the years in several houses and no one comes close to Ludlow Tile, Mike and his team. We’ve come to know each member of the team and now that the project is over we’ll miss having them at the house! The detail of work is unmatched. The commitment to getting the project completed as quick as would allow while not missing any details is awesome. From the thought they put into the initial pattern and layout to the small arrows and notes that directed our teenage son around wet tiles and to his basement hideout everything was completed with care. Many thanks to Mike and his team, we’ll have to come up with something else to tile in the future!

Mike, My husband & I can't thank you enough for coming to our rescue in a pinch. Knowing our situation, I admired your determination to help us. With your schedule being as busy as it was, you went out of your way to make it happen! We put a call out to you, it was returned within hours. You showed up the next day to look at the job that was to be done. The following day you called and said you would be able to come on the weekend (only 4 days later). Your a good man, Mike Ludlow! Mike and his team are a pleasure to work with. His work is impeccable and his attention to detail is top notch. They kept my house so clean while also updating me through the whole process as to what time he would be here and when. In addition to being a true master of his craft, he and his team are just the nicest people you will ever work with. I’m not one to write reviews but I felt that they were so exceptional that I couldn’t help myself. You will not be disappointed!

Would definately recommend Ludlow Tile and Marable. Don't bother calling anyone else! Ludlow Tile and Marble is where you want to go for all tile and marble needs. Mike and Mike are a great professional team and really like to work with you to be sure you are more than satisfied with the work. The quality of work, attention to details, cleanliness and pricing CANNOT BE BEAT! His pricing is extrememly well priced. Don't over pay someplace else.

You never really know what you’re going to get with a contractor these days but Mike Ludlow is top notch. We really appreciated his high level of communication, always on time, extremely clean work space and a great guy to work with. He did our kitchen backsplash and we could not be happier with it.
