We had a great experience designing and building our home with Mike Schaap Builders. They understood what we wanted and made it even better. In the end we were on time and on budget.

My wife and I moved into our MSB house 6 months ago. We worked with MSB throughout the process and they were our general contractor. We enjoyed the services and process that MSB brought to the table. Their in-house services seemed to really improve communication. Everyone was on the same page through out the project. Our foreman, Mike Handlogten, was easy to get a hold of, quickly addressed any issues, and was always up front about anything. Mike was truly great to work with. We didn't have any big setbacks throughout the project. Concerns were brought to our attention proactively. This made building a house (a complex and stressful process) so much easier. Mike Schaap worked closely with us to keep our project on time and within our budget. We had to cut a couple things we wanted out but staying on budget is possible. Our son was still taking daily naps when we moved in. Punch list items were dealt with promptly and they worked around our nap schedule whenever possible. Much appreciated. MSB prices are definitely above average, but they deliver excellent craftsmanship and simplify the process for you. We have a wonderful home and would recommend Mike Schaap Builders.

My bride and I were at the kitchen and remodel show this spring. Schaap builders were the only ones that would acknowledge us and take the time to get to know us and our vision. It didn't matter that it wasn't a big glamorous new home, just a kitchen remodel. At least that is all it was until we met Gen and Jodi. They helped us put our ideas into a plan, on paper, and we went to a complete lower level remodel. I have read a lot of prints, but never with our name on it. The entire team is world class and a joy to work with. Everyone treated us like we were their most important customer. We are told all the time that our home looks like something that should be in a magazine. Not bad for an old farm house built in the 1800's. We will have them help with the rest of the house next year. Some interior and exterior work. When we are ready to build new in a few years we will be hiring Schaap Builders and Benchmark Design.
