I have worked with Martha on multiple projects. She has a professionalism and calm about her that few designers manage to maintain with the chaos of developing projects. I can honestly say it is always a pleasure working together. She is willing to try new ideas and take risk without going over the top. In the end, I have yet to see her touch a space I wouldn't want to personally live in.

It is difficult to express how pleased we are with the design of our residence in Fort Lauderdale. Martha is a perfectionist with an incredible eye for detail and a remarkable sense of style and color. Her design and space planning skills are amazing. Each and every item of furniture she selected for our new house is perfect. The fabrics she selected are unique and tailored to our lifestyle. In addition to her design skills, Martha is a sophisticated professional who truly cares about the needs of her clients and works within budgetary parameters. In the past, I have worked with designers who left me feeling they were simply selling me items I did not need to achieve their goals and vision. Martha is the opposite. I hired Martha to help decorate my condo. I wanted a very contemporary look that was not cold, and we accomplished that. I also wanted to be an integral part of the process and enjoy looking for furniture and accessories myself. Martha understood that and would often just approve and reject items that I had found. I appreciated her keen understanding of color and scale and respected her opinion. I think she saved me from making many mistakes. Her knowledge of furniture, fabrics and rugs —both sourcing and construction was fantastic. I finally understand why items that look the same are priced very differently. In the end, I am thrilled with the result and know that I will be happy with the timeless look of my home forever.

We hired M.S. Vicas Interiors to stage our townhouse in Brooklyn for sale. After having been occupied for renters for years, Martha did an incredible job advising us what work needed to be done get the house ready. She recommended paint colors and quick, inexpensive fixes for various other cosmetic issues in bathrooms etc. Of course we wanted to spend as little as possible to get the house sold and she was very sensitive to that. Martha came in and furnished each room effectively so that the architecture and space were highlighted. It was worth every penny that we spent!

My architect recommended that I contact Martha to consult on our new construction. It was a fantastic idea. She was able to make numerous suggestions that dramatically improved the flow of our home. Also, it is great to have an interior designer involved in the process of planning a home from the start. Our space was planned with our lifestyle in mind. We needed all new furniture and built-ins and she was able to come up with so many creative ideas to make everything unique and elegant. Her vendors were fabulous and the quality of their work was exceptional. Martha has a special talent when it comes to color and we marvel at the unusual combinations that she suggested. They work so well—everyone comments on it when they enter our home. Her attention to detail was great and she made sure that any mistake was quickly corrected. We cannot recommend M.S. Vicas Interiors highly enough.

Our family moved to a larger home last fall and we decided to start fresh. We needed furniture for a 6000 feet home quickly. Martha was enormously helpful from the start as she quickly put together furniture plans for each room. She worked with our two teenage children to design their rooms and they could not be happier. We wanted a mix if vintage and new lighting and furnishings. Martha found wonderful things for us all over the country and had them shipped. Our new furniture and fabrics are beautiful and she respected our wished to create a family and pet friendly home where we would all feel comfortable. She suggested that we use outdoor fabrics for most of the upholstery in the main family living areas. it is such a relief to not have to worry about wear and tear! The paint colors and carpets were carefully chosen to complement everything else. We also did a kitchen renovation. Martha’s experience as a professional chef years ago proved to be very valuable in planning the function of the kitchen. The location of everything is well thought out so that it is a delight to work in the space. We also had to renovate our master bath. We were amazed at the incredible number of details that go into a bathroom renovation. it was overwhelming but Martha’s patience and attention to detail made the whole process painless. In the end, we have a uniquely beautiful, comfortable family home. We could not be more pleased and look forward to either working with Martha again or recommending her to our friends.

Martha Vicas of MS Vicas Interiors is the most helpful and talented designer I have worked with. Martha has helped us with three very different projects and each has held stunning results. We had a very different budget for one project on a river built from the ground up to a very modest budget of taking a six bedroom home into a two bedroom condominium. The third project is an ongoing revitalizing of our home of 15 years. In all cases, Martha was adept at putting into reality our inarticulate visions with great sensitivity to our budget. I appreciate her ability to stress where it is important to spend more and her flexibility and self assuredness to find more than acceptable less expensive alternatives. Martha makes her self available and is very responsive. She is proactive and attentive to deadlines. We thoroughly enjoy working with Martha but just as importantly, she works very well with our architect and other craftsmen. I recommend Martha enthusiastically and without reservation.

I bought a townhouse in Georgetown and needed to do a gut renovation. Martha worked with our architects to ensure that everything was perfectly designed for function and aesthetics. She reviewed our lighting plan and made significant changes, changed our kitchen design to improve efficiency, and even consulted on our garden. She was a wonderful sounding board for our ideas and really listened to what we wanted, rather than imposing her own taste on us. She also acted as an intermediary between us and the architect and contractor. Her vast experience in this field was evident as she helped us navigate the inevitable snafus that occur in any renovation. Our furniture, window treatments and paint schedule in place soon after the completion of our construction thanks to her superb planning. We could not be happier with Martha’s work and almost look forward to moving again just so we can work with her!

MS Vicas Interiors recently helped me to update my tired living room Their suggestions to replace two chairs, my coffee table and drapes were spot on. I was able to totally update my room without having to redo the whole room My chairs arrived earlier than expected with a seamless delivery and I absolutely love the new look I highly recommend MS Vicas Interiors and will be looking to do more with them.

In late 2009, Martha Vicas, principal of M.S. Vicas Interiors, designed and supervised a total renovation of my apartment at the Westchester. Work included altering architectural elements, designing a new kitchen and bathroom, selecting paint colors, sanding and refinishing floors, and selecting draperies and carpets, and replacing a number of furniture items. Her work was extremely creative and completed with the ease and pleasantness that is her standard practice. I have continued to call on her for updated and refreshed elements to the present time. I recommend her highly with no reservation.

I adore Martha Vicas! She and her design team worked magic on nearly every room in our Chevy Chase home. I also worked with Martha on extensive renovations to a property in Maine.
