Natural Accent Hardwood Floors

We just had new oak floors installed by Natural Accent Hardwood Floors. We couldn't be happier! Jim is a true professional, with great attention to detail. The other bids I got were 3 or 4 lines; Jim's bid was many pages, with detailed costs for several options. The articles on the web site are informative and helpful. Jim replied to my questions in a timely manner, and made sure I knew exactly how the process was going to go. Once they got started, Jim and Ben were prompt, friendly, and efficient. The install took 5 days; at the end of each day they put away all their equipment (and there was a LOT!), and cleaned up after themselves. They did a few extra things that weren't called out in the bid at no charge. Our new floors are absolutely stunning, and we are delighted!

Jim did an excellent job with our project. We were looking for someone to redo the hardwood floors in our living room and he was able to complete the project much faster than we anticipated being feasible. At the same time, the price was very reasonable considering the patching that needed to be done. He was very upfront with options and pricing. He was very easy to work with and there was almost no mess. I am very glad that we hired him to do the work.

We recently refinished our music room floor with a high gloss black hardwood floor. Jim and his staff were very accommodating, professional, and excellent with their craftsmanship! I would highly recommended them! We will definitely use them again for future hardwood projects!

Jim's attention to detail was amazing. In fact, when I was receiving bids, I had to point out the things he mentioned during his consult to another company because they skimmed over it. Jim Clarey responded to my inquiry promptly, and had a proposal to re-finish the floors in my mother's house ready the next day. Once engaged, he was respectful of my schedule and due to my need to travel (I live out of town from Fargo), he worked independently on my project and did a beautiful job. The house is 61 years old and the floors now look like new. People that see them are amazed. I would recommend Natural Accent to anyone.

My husband and I wanted to replace our carpet in our upstairs living room and hallway. During the process of replacing the carpet we realized that we had original hardwood flooring underneath our carpet. The wood flooring was not in the best shape and there was a repair that needed to be performed due to an old wall that was removed many years ago before we owned our home. We contacted Jim and the same day he came over and gave us an estimate. We then learned that our wood floors were original white oak flooring and I was very excited! With Jim's help we decided that we were no longer getting carpet. Jim and Brandon were the two that sanded, repaired, and stained our wood floors. They make a great team and do amazing work. The repair job that they performed to one part of our floor looks absolutely amazing. They kept us updated on the progress throughout the entire project and they even finished ahead of time. I can not say enough about Natural Accent Hardwood Floors. I would recommend them to anyone I know. They were polite, courteous, and very respectful, the entire time they were in our home. I had Jim come in to take care of refinishing my 1.5" red oak hard wood floors for my newly purchased home (a bit of a fixer-upper). I know the floors have been covered with carpet for the last 30 plus years. There were some big animal urine and water stains from previous owners that had to be repaired. Jim and company did an incedible job repairing the boards that needed it. Those areas and the rest now look incedible. They also left things extremely clean with no dust anywhere. I highly recommend these guys to anyone.

We hired Natural Accent Hardwood Floors to refinish our 70 year old 1.5 inch red oak floors following a house fire. The floors were already worn from daily use, and now added to that were water, smoke, soot, and demolition damage. The floors were a mess! Owner, Jim, consulted with us and we were encouraged by his knowledge and honesty. His follow up estimate was a thing of beauty, containing detailed information and pricing for the three options for refinishing the floors, education about hardwood floor finishing and care, instructions pertaining to our specific project, site-finished floor expectations and payment terms, as well as a perceptive and sincere no risk guarantee. This exceptional example of professional service and communication carried throughout the entire restoration project. As for the floors, they now look brand new, with the most beautiful lustre I've seen on a hardwood floor.

Summary – Hands down, would recommend to anyone. Great communication and attention to detail, fantastic workmanship and very knowledgeable. This is why it was such an awesome experience for me – details from each part of the whole process: *Estimate – Very detailed, easy to read, has clear descriptions of the different finish choices, and the products are listed so I was able to check them out online. I love that there’s instructions in there about taking care of your floor because many people don’t know some of the things in there. *Scheduling – Flexibility and was able to squeeze me in to a very full schedule. I found myself in a situation right after closing on my house where I unexpectedly had to rip out the carpet immediately and refinish the floor underneath due to allergies vs having time to wait. *Sanding - I was originally going to just leave the floor natural with no stain, but there were some stains from years of carpet – especially where the staples were – that would not have looked as good. Jim made a point of showing this to me to allow me to reconsider whether or not I wanted to continue with natural or think about staining the floors rather than just going ahead with what I’d originally planned. There was also a damaged area that was found after the estimate that didn’t sand out and that area was repaired. *Stain matching - Coordinating stain douglas fir and white oak is not an easy task! The natural colors of these types of wood are very different. He was very patient with me while I tried to pick out a coordinating color for the oak. If using samples vs the actual floor (which is what we did for mine and it allowed for trying more colors) I highly recommend comparing the tint of the natural look of the existing floor to the tint of the natural look of the sample boards. I knew the color I selected for the oak appeared a slight bit lighter than it needed to be, but I was accounting for the tint of my floor being a tiny bit darker than the sample it was on. *Finish – The floor looked beautiful stained, but it was even better after it was sealed and it gave me an idea of what the floor would look like completed. Once it was finally finished, the final coat had not turned out well. He explained what conditions had likely caused it and came the next day to fix it and put on another coat. Jim exhibits a pride of workmanship you don’t often see anymore that was evident throughout the entire process and especially stood out at the end when he took the time to make it right. *Payment – patience while I worked things out with paypal for a few days and their additional security measures for large purchases.

Jim and Natural Accent Harwood Floors refinished and stained my maple floors in my kitchen /dining room. They are amazing. The floors are absolutely beautiful! They do exceptional work, down to every detail. They are so professional, yet so easy to talk to also. They answered all my questions and walked me through the process each day they were there. I'd highly recommend them to anyone redoing existing floors or installing new floors.

We have hired Natural Accent Hardwood Floors for several projects in our 1920s home: refinishing fir flooring in the nursery, refinishing our staircase, and most recently, refinishing maple flooring on our main floor in two bedrooms and a hallway.
