New Old, LLC

There are a few personal "bucket list" builders out there that we have always hoped for an opportunity to work with. New Old is one of those builders. We followed their work for a few years and recently an opportunity presented itself to collaborate on a project together. It was such a pleasure implementing ideas that they had along into our design to achieve a plan that we hope will be a home the future homeowners will enjoy for years to come! We cannot wait to watch progress as the home takes shape!

Our experience with New Old, LLC was outstanding. Mary and Troy bring the quality of old world craftsmanship to modern design. Their knowledge of architecture and detail, specific to the style of home you have selected to build, is something that really differentiates them. There is no detail that is overlooked when planning your home. Mary and Troy are great listeners and really are commmited to giving you the home of your dreams while respecting your budget. We had a hard deadline as to when we had to be in our new home and they did everything within their power to accommodate that. Many times you enter a new home and feel the need to, "make it a home." With New Old that isn't the case. New Old doesn't build houses, they build homes. It is a difference you feel immediately as you cross the threshold of your brand new home.

We are the very lucky ones to have stumbled across a home for sale that NewOld, LLC completely remodeled. We marvel every day at their sense of design and craftsmanship. The wood-clad walls and ceilings, light fixtures, and cabinet pulls all come together to give our brand new home the feel of a timeless and loved old cottage. We had owned a small bungalow in a booming area of Charlotte for more than several years. From the moment we purchased it, we knew we would be tearing it down and starting from scratch. After researching several design build firms within Charlotte, we kept returning to New Old. Their style, and quality cannot be surpassed. From start to finish it was an absolute joy working with them as we never felt out of the loop, the quality was better than other homes being built within our neighborhood, and quite honestly it was a lot of fun picking out finishes and designing our dream home. Mary has an absolute eye for design and trends that quite honestly a lot of other builders do not have. From the moment you walk into our home, it is quite clear that it doesn't look like your run of the mill new build. Many of our neighbors and friends have mentioned that it is the most beautiful home in our neighborhood, which says a lot as there is tons of new construction going on around us right now. We highly recommend New Old and if we ever decide to build again in the future, they will be the only firm we would even consider.

We built our custom home with New Old and have been living in our dream home for close to 2 years. There is absolutely no one else that we would have wanted to build with. For years, we had seen the homes that New Old had built and were in love with their work. When we decided to build our home, we knew that they were the only ones that we wanted to work with. New Old, LLC built our custom home for us. From the planning stages all the way through the construction of our home they were excellent and a joy to work with. When we interviewed builders we were looking for someone who built the type and size of home we wanted, but more importantly we were looking for a company who was trustworthy and respectful. The house that they built for us is beautiful, well constructed and full of custom touches that they are so good at. We have lived in the house for almost a year now and we still love it and would choose this builder all over again.

We hired New Old to build a custom home for us. The project wrapped up right on time, no corners were cut and all the workmanship was of the highest quality. Building can be a daunting and stressful process. They eased that stress and made it as seamless as possible. New Old assured us they would meet our expectations and they went above and beyond to exceed them. We love our home and give New Old the highest recommendation!

New Old remodeled our bathroom. We were extremely pleased with the result. It exceeded our expectations. We can't wait for another project to work with New Old.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about this company! From start to finish of our project Troy and Mary exhibited nothing but utmost professionalism while working with us. I was blown away by their attention to detail and their ideas. While working with Mary she was able to offer wonderful suggestions that further enhanced the beauty of our renovation. We hired New Old to build a new custom home for us in Myers Park, near downtown Charlotte. We initially encountered New Old during the 2011 Homearama (tour of homes), which featured many of the greater Charlotte area's top custom homebuilders. There was something about their product that stood out from the rest; even amongst the crème de la crème of custom homebuilders in the area. The unique design and attention to detail caught our eye. So, when we decided to build a custom home of our own a few years later they were our first (and only) call. My wife and I are usually the type of people that would interview many companies and do exhaustive research, but on this decision we went with "gut feel," and decided to move forward with Troy and Mary without even talking with other custom builders. It was one of the best decisions we've made. They deliver an exceptional level of client service, making you feel like you're their only client. They have an "eye" for making your home look and feel unique and adding design elements that add a lot of character. For example, in our living room and kitchen New Old installed several large rustic wooden beams across the ceiling that were originally part of a tobacco drying barn located in Kentucky and built in the late-1800s. Mary did a tremendous amount of research and was able to provide us with the backstory on the beams and the barn they came from and we now have an interesting story we can tell our guests, etc. This is the type of unique-ness and high-service approach that I think likely sets New Old apart from the many other custom builders. In a nutshell - very high quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, strong commitment to client service and flexibility. Very pleased with the final product and looking forward to making many memories with my family in this exceptional house built by New Old.
