Although our reconstruction/remedial project was of limited scope, Pitman Construction executed it with thorough professionalism and punctuality. Bill Hart provided prompt and knowledgeable initial interaction and estimation. John Averill's communication was punctual, work was begun exactly as planned, and his crew was organized, capable and efficient. Pitman will be our first choice for future projects.

We bought a vacation home with a nice interior but the exterior was in very poor condition. We met with several contractors and it was the professionalism and reputation of Walt and his team that made our decision. Our renovations required experience in older homes and very remote locations. We began working with Walt and Bill Hart who helped us make decisions on quality and cost. Their consulting allowed us to understand the value of higher quality windows like Andersen 400s and Hardie Board siding. They explained the return on investing in low maintenance and quality features. Pricing was discussed and explained rather than negotiated and we were very pleased with the cost of our project. Finally, we met John Averill who is the heart of any project as the onsite supervisor. John was knowledgeable, personable, professional, and was constantly communicating. Our project was in a remote vacation community and John was always on site managing the project. He understood the need to respect our neighbors who were on vacation. As we live 5 hours from the project, the online software provided by Pitman Construction was a real plus for us to actually see photos of the progress and review alternatives. The schedule was initially 10 weeks and we finished as planned. I highly recommend this team and plan to use them again in the future.

We hired Pitman Construction Company to do a major master bathroom renovation, extensive plumbing and lighting renovations, custom cabinet installation, plaster work and painting in a house and detached garage built originally in 1929. Walt Derey and his team did a fantastic job on the project, from the timely and clear communications, creativity and expertise at dealing with challenging issues, and practical problem solving, to the fact that the project was finished on time, within budget and exceeded our expectations. Every time I had a question, Walt responded quickly and professionally. Without hesitation, I would recommend Pitman Construction to my friends (just like more than one of my friends recommended them to me).

Walt Derey and everyone with Pitman Construction are great to work with, as they are all creative, hardworking, and just about as persnickety as I am. The sub-contractors they use are the best of the best - extremely neat, professional, and genuinely great people. All are very willing to listen to my concerns and ideas, and the work is always done to my satisfaction and theirs. If there is any question, they do what they need to do to "make it right." I would recommend the company for any job, large or small, as I have used them for years with complete satisfaction.

High-quality work by Pitman Construction in our home reflects the advance planning and scheduling the company devoted to the project before any physical work began. We were impressed by the accuracy of estimating costs, the continuous communication we received from the project manager and the thorough cleanup at the end. Of all the contractors who have worked in our homes, the Pitman crew is the best.

Walt and the entire Pitman team were wonderful! The best part was that they stayed on budget AND finished on time! Unheard of in construction. Any issues, and there always will be some, were dealt with quickly and easily. The only day that they strayed from the calendar of workmen was to send the painters in 3 days early! I am thrilled with my new kitchen and cannot imagine working with anyone else in the future!

Pittman Construction Company completely remodeled our historic home in OSW. Their professionalism, honesty, craftsmanship and work ethic far exceeded that of any contractor that we had worked with in the valley. They helped us build our dream home. They showed great attention to detail and finish work. Followed up quickly with any issues that came up after the project was completed. We have continued to use Pitman for new projects and handyman services.

Pitman Construction was a pleasure to work with. They showed up on time, were respectful of our property, cleaned up at the end of each day and completed the job as we had expected. The job involved identifying where water was entering the house, fixing the issues and preventing any reoccurrence of the problem. As part of the remedies, Pitman removed tile from a concrete deck, poured additional concrete to change the pitch so that water would flow away from the house and then stamped the concrete to give the deck a new look. They also had to remove siding (Hardi-board on the upper deck and stone on the lower) replace structural members, insulation, re-plumb windows, replace a double door, and re-flash all areas. They also installed a new ceiling on the lower deck, complete with fans and can lights. We continue to be pleased with the completed job.

Pitman built our deck last summer. They did a fantastic job and we are very happy with the end result. Any issues that came up along the way were dealt with directly and with great focus on customer satisfaction. Their employees were wonderful. During the construction, our chickens had to be locked up in their run so they were not in the way of the work. At the end of the day, whomever was working that day would let the hens out, which we really appreciated!

For 15 years Pitman Construction has been our "go to" resource for construction, renovation and maintenance needs of our personal and business property. The quality of work that Pitman has delivered on every project has been exceptional. From the smallest repair at our office to the complete construction of our home, we can honestly say it has been our pleasure to work with the Pitman team. Pitman Construction was asked to transform a large basement 42' X 32' X 15'' into a space containing a sewing area, extending around a twelve foot long arm quilting machine, complete with custom shelving of my wife's design and contiguous with a family area, with an existing large fireplace, creating space for a big screen, wall mounted TV and ample room for couches, recliners, etc. the final quarter of the room was a separate furnace room, with space for two furnaces, exercise area and a large array of tools. Outside, they were asked to remove the concrete block extending beyond the double door exit, to level the ground and to install paving tiles over the space under a large deck, an area extending 42' X 14'. They installed a roof over the patio to prevent water from falling from the deck onto the paving stones, so that quality outdoor furniture is protected from the elements. They removed two huge bay windows and replaced them with weatherized bay windows. The resulting downstairs is, simply, beautiful. An army of workers, skilled in their various professions, filed in and out of the area, building walls, extending electrical service, with inset variable lighting, installing waterproofing and floor tiles and lowering the ceiling from 15' to 8 1/2'. All this was done while another service was removing two large oil tanks and an oil furnace and installing two new gas furnaces with their resulting ducts. Their electricians and roofers also made some changes upstairs which we needed. It was fascinating to watch these highly trained and skillful men. There was no detail missed, no corners cut, and all within the agreed-to budget. Extras that occurred to my wife and me were factored in, of course, but there were no surprises in the final cost. I might have had the work done more cheaply, but I would have ended up with cheaper work and probable delays. Pitman's work is first rate. Within budget and within the time frame estimated. We were assigned a job leader, John, who ensured that the work was done expertly and expeditiously. He met with us regularly to inform us of their progress and to ask if there were any suggestions we might have. We are thrilled with what we received. The previous owner of the property stopped by and we showed him the basement. He took pictures and asked if he could bring his daughters over to see the changes in the home they grew up in. He said he couldn't believe how beautiful the area had become, from an ordinary basement. It is a masterpiece. Thank you, Bud and Walt. Oh, I should add that we have had minor things we want done around the house, and a call to Pitman results in a quick visit and resolution of our new projects. I would recommend Pitman to anyone who wants quality work, at a predetermined cost, done in a reasonable time frame and expertly completed. Well done!
